Buggy and two of her besties sang one of the camp songs for offeratory one Sunday.
Each week the teens that go up as camp staff stand in front of the church and report on what they learned or a funny story from their week. Then the elders pray over all the staff and campers that will be going the next week. This was the week Peanut went, and it was also Bug's first week working!
We drove up with Peanut's friend M and her mom, and they were thrilled when we found they got the same cabin with all their friends!
We got Peanut settled and then I went across the way to where Bug's "cabin" was. She was in an overflow tent. Her job for the week was to be a "Timothy" the way Timothy was a helper to Paul. It's basically a grunt. They do dishes, clean bathrooms, and all the other hard jobs around camp, but strangely enough they love it!!
Bug got a sweet girl as her cabin leader and said they worked well together.
Here was her "bunk" for the week.
I headed back to grab Peanut and get through the registration line.
She was super happy and excited and a little bit nervous but had no problems with staying like last year.

I said my goodbyes and got one more picture of Bug and her friend on my way out.
And us moms unexpectedly got a night out. On the way home we decided to stop and go out to dinner at Cracker Barrel! There was a bit of a wait so we browsed the gift shop and talked. I literally think that is the first time I have ever been out to dinner with just a girl-friend as a mom!
My friend B volunteered in the kitchen that week and sent me updates which was really nice! Otherwise you don't hear a peep from when you drop them off to when you pick them up!
Peanut had a wonderful time with all her friends! It's hard for me to believe she is growing up so fast! She was so happy to be home and to see Queso. She begged me to let him sleep in her room. :P
We had originally said that Bug could work one week, but she did such a good job and they needed workers the last week so we ended up letting her work 7/8 camp as well. That was also due to the fact that she had such a great attitude when she got home and even cleaned a bathroom and did dishes for the first time ever without being asked. Haha! I could get used to this! :P
Phew! Camp season is a blur, but they had some wonderful experiences and I'm glad we let them go!
