Boise! - Part 1

Just three days after Aunt Karen left we packed everyone up in the car and headed for Boise! Auntie K was interviewing at the children's hospital there and since we hadn't seen them in a year we decided to make the trek!

Noni and Mama were able to join us! We met them down the road and had lunch. Lou was happy for a break from the car. 

All of our babies have been excellent travelers and rarely cried in the car. Lou not so much. She was good...as long as she was sleeping. :P She fussed and cried quite a bit and my arm was sore from reaching back to rock her. It's funny but we are all desensitized to her screaming in the car because she does it so much. The girls just say, "Mommy can you turn it (Odyssey or the radio) up please?" and everyone ignores her. :/

After lunch Peaches rode with Mama and Noni so Lou could get a good nap without getting poked and prodded or woken up by loud noises. :P See video...

When T took out Peaches' car seat it was SOO gross! We hadn't moved it in over a year...yuck!

Thankfully Lou was able to get a good nap after Peaches left us. I felt bad for her though...she got too big for the head rest part of her seat and we had to take it out so now her head slumps down when she falls asleep.

 

We arrived in Boise and made our way to the house we had rented. It was our first time trying out Airbnb and it went very well! It was a very nice house and had three good sized bedrooms. 

We were so happy to discover that Boise had Chik-Fil-A! We got settled into the house and then T and I went and got groceries and Chik-Fil-A and brought it back for everyone.  

The next morning we headed to the Boise Zoo! They had all kinds of fun playground equipment scattered around the zoo. Peaches liked this giraffe slide.

 

We got Mama a wheelchair so she could see the zoo and not have to do all that walking.

As I was taking this picture Boo read a sign that said, "Do not climb on the big tiger." Whoops. :P

The little one had a seat. :)

There were volunteers all over the zoo doing little demonstrations. We got to see the difference between a tortoise and a turtle shell.

 

I think the meerkats were most everyone's favorite. They were so cute and funny! 

The Red Pandas were pretty darn cute too!

They had a petting zoo with goats and a llama. The girls fed them all our quarters worth of treats. :)

Peaches kept saying, "I wanta go see tha fa-meen-gos!" and I was worried that she would melt down when she realized there weren't any, but we came around one corner and she got all excited, "FA-MEEN-GOS!" she shouted, pointing at the emus. Lol. 

I walked Lou around in the stroller to get her to sleep while everyone else went into the butterfly garden. There were so many bright and beautiful butterflies!

I finally got Lou to sleep although she didn't look too comfortable and it didn't last too long. :/

I took the girls on the merry-go-round.

And then we saw baboons, penguins...

lions...man those guys were HUGE.

Lou woke up when we got to the monkeys. She was looking around blandly, and then she spotted them and got the biggest smile on her face and started kicking her legs happily!

It was a smaller zoo so were able to see all the animals in just a couple hours and then we headed to meet Aunt K and Uncle A for lunch! It was so great to see them!

After lunch we took everyone back to the house for naps and once we got the little ones down K, A, T, and I went driving around and exploring Boise. 

That night we went out to a little Mexican food place. It was really good and had this funny sign.

Lou ate a ton of rice and beans...and then the next day had her biggest blowout diaper yet...it was all over her and the car seat. Maybe a smaller portion next time. :P
