Day Two

Baby had a predictably rough first night, but hospital wise it was probably our best ever. Normally they are in and out all night waking us up, but they were very considerate and had us call when she woke up so they could check her vitals. They usually just come in whenever it works best for their schedule and it always seems to be right when baby just fell asleep. This time was MUCH better. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that the floor was very empty due to the holiday. There was only one other couple there besides us.

We actually got a few solid hours of sleep and were not bone tired in the morning...just regularly exhausted. Haha. :)

Noni, Papa, and Mama brought the girls back up around 11 and she made the rounds again.

The girls also practiced their dances in the hospital room. This is not part of it. Haha.

We spent the rest of the day going through all her tests and getting shots and having blood drawn. :(

And we also spent the day staring at this sweet face! 

They knew we wanted to be discharged, but she had to have a heart test done at 24 hours so the nurse got all our paperwork done and ready to go so we could leave as soon she passed. Thankfully she did, and then Daddy got her dressed and ready to go.

But loves being warm once she is! 

We packed up our stuff and were ready to get out of there!

She went in the car seat without a fuss.

T stopped and grabbed a couple things on the way home. She fussed for just a few minutes in the car when she lost her binky, but otherwise slept the whole way home. It was raining in the city, but started snowing as we got closer to home. We ran into some of the biggest snowflakes either of us had ever seen! They were running into each other and forming giant snowflakes...it was hard to see! 

We got home and did a quick unpack before giving her a final feeding and trying to settle in for the night. She didn't do too bad...but newborn nights are never great. She woke up three times to eat and was pretty much awake and fussy from 12:15 to 3:30, but we did get a few chunks of 1-2 hours of sleep. :P I love the newborn cuddles, but not the newborn phase! I'm hoping she settles into a routine quickly!
