Pool Days

We had our annual June trip to the lake for Daddy's conference a couple of weeks ago. I think this is the girls favorite vacation because it is exactly what a kid wants to do: go to a hotel and swim in the pool. That's pretty much all we do, and they love it. Swim, eat, sleep, repeat!

When we got down there on Sunday night our room wasn't ready. It never is. This conference takes up pretty much every room in the major hotels and condos, but they never seem to prepare for the massive influx of people on Sunday. Oh well. We've got our routine down pat. Just like last year we headed to Walmart to get a groceries for our stay and then went out to dinner at our favorite little cafe. Noni's hair was falling over Peaches' head and it looked like she had hair. Her expression cracked me up when everyone started laughing. Lol!

For some reason that little cafe has the best fettuccine Alfredo I've ever had. It's the only place I ever order it...my once a year treat. So it didn't even occur to me that the diary would be hard on Peaches' stomach. Never crossed my mind.

She doesn't usually seem to be bothered by the diary other than massive blowouts and spitting up like crazy, but all that creamy sauce must have hurt her little tummy because she was up half the night. She slept fitfully, but at about 3:45 she started crying and would not stop. I finally got her back to sleep after about an hour but she would wake up and start crying every time I laid her down. So after getting her to sleep again I half sat/half laid down on the bed in a quite uncomfortable position and tried to get some sleep. About 6:15 she started squirming and fussing, but with her eyes closed so I got up and put her back in her bed and she slept soundly till about 9. Poor baby. I won't be making that mistake again!

Before we went to bed the first night we had to hit the pool for a bit! Noni and Papa bought the girls flippers and they sure broke them in on this trip!

Even Peaches got to try the water!

She really did like it...Mommy just lost track of time and didn't realize it was time for her to eat! She didn't like that I was taking pictures of her rather than feeding her!

Most of the pictures from the trip are from the pool since that's pretty much where we spent our waking hours!

All three girls loved the water and wanted to swim for hours!

The sunset from our deck was gorgeous!

We accidentally got a bigger room than we meant to get. Last year we had a two bedroom which worked out fine because Noni and Peanut slept in one, and Bug and Boo slept in the living room. At one of the other condos we've stayed at previously we had a 3 bedroom, the 3rd being a room of bunkbeds. So when they were making room reservation T said we needed a 3 bed on accident instead of a 2 bed. We ended up with the Presidential 3 bedroom suite. Whoops. It was big! And very nice, but a 2 bedroom will work just fine next year. Haha :)

Here's the view from our bedroom where we slept with Peaches in the pack n' play.

Our morning routine consisted of waking up leisurely, eating breakfast, doing devotions, playing a round or two of cards and then me taking the girls down to the pool while Noni let Peaches nap.

It was so hot while we were there (97-99) that the mornings were the only time we wanted to be in the hot tub!

Boo told me she was washing her hair. :)

When Peaches woke up Noni and I would switch posts and she would keep swimming with the girls while I fed Peaches and got lunch ready. Then they would come up and take a break to eat.

Here is our living room area. So nice!

And I had to take a picture of this...there were mirrors everywhere in this place! We decided that if the door had been closed when we arrived we wouldn't have ever found the 3rd bedroom! That last mirror panel is a door. It doesn't have a handle, you just push on it!

The first day I stayed with Peaches for her morning nap and read on the balcony. So nice!

Noni worked with each of the girls on their swimming.

The first day Peanut had to be holding on to someone or she would start to panic (even if she had her lifejacket on AND was sitting in the floaty), but by the 2nd day Noni had her paddling around on her own. Go Peanut!

Noni helped Bug practice diving. She's getting there...she just needs to go up and over instead of out. Haha :)

Boo also got brave and swam in the deep end without her life jacket! She also tried going down the slide on her stomach and back!

More pictures tomorrow!
