Partyin' With Chuck E. Cheese!

Last May we were invited to a friend's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese and ever since then Boo and Peaches have been wanting to go for their birthday. Since their birthday was on a Sunday it worked out perfectly. They got to invite ten friends, and Peanut and Buggy got a friend too since there were siblings invited.  :)

Boo and her friends were all over, swiping their cards right and left. It's a good thing we got an extra 120 "tokens" with the party because they all blew through their 30 in the first 45 minutes! :P

This was a favorite game as well. T was pretty proud of himself because he beat the top score. Haha!

The best thing (for me) about the party was that Chuck E. Cheese takes care of everything! You pretty much just have to show up. They use the speaker system to call the kids back to the table when it is time for food, cake, and presents. You also get your own "party host" who is taking care of everything the whole time...serving food and cake, refilling drinks, helping with anything you need. SO nice! 

It's also great for all ages. So many other things would be fun for Peaches and her friends but not Boo and vice versa. Chuck E. Cheese has something fun for everyone.

They had to scream happy birthday three times. It was SO loud! :P

Peaches was so excited that when they told the birthday kids to come up she just took off running like a streak of lightning! Boo had to chase her down and bring her back over, haha!!

 

Peaches liked "da mousie" but when Boo tried to put her on his lap she buried her head and clung like a monkey. She was fine with him as long as she wasn't touching him. Haha.

Sweet girl! Can't believe she's nine!

The big kids all ate their cake and then took off for the games again. Peaches took her time with the cake....still the best way to enjoy your birthday cake. :)

Baby girl did great and slept almost the whole party. I wrapped her up so this was my view of her the whole time. :)

Part of the birthday experience is that you get to go in the ticket blaster! Boo went first.

 

She had a 500 ticket paper that was on her foot the whole time so our party host let her have it. :) 

Peaches was too scared to go in by herself so Daddy went with her and they got tons of tickets!!! 

They got bunched up between them. Haha!

After that we did presents. The girls were opening so fast I didn't see who got what for them, but they got so many sweet and thoughtful gifts!

Boo got a really cool science kit and a solar system kit!

She also got a Fingerling...she's been wanting one since before Christmas!

Grandma and Grandpa got Calico Critters and paint sets for both girls.

After all the festivities we let the kids play for another hour (while I fed the baby again). 

 

Then they spent another thirty minutes picking their prizes with the tickets. It was definitely more crowded than I would have preferred, being a Sunday, but overall it wasn't too bad, and big bonus, no one got sick afterwards. Haha! 

We took two of the girls friends home and everyone proclaimed they were starving so we stopped at Wendys on the way. 

I would definitely say Chuck E. Cheese birthday party = big success!

Double the birthdays means double the surprises and double the fun!

We actually got Peaches a Minnie car! I never thought we would have one of these but T found a Black Friday deal (he actually bought it on his iPad when we were int he hospital, haha) and we knew she would love it!

 

We were right! She kept spinning out on the floor and left marks on the wood, but it works great downstairs on the carpet!

Boo asked for, and received, a Calico Critter house! The cool thing is that it has several configurations and can even be three stories!

So happy! (You can see this was during our kitchen work...the back wall ship lap got up that week, and I painted it a few days later.)

Their birthday was on a Sunday so we let them open their presents to each other before they left for church. More Calico Critters!

And even more "Co Critters" as Peaches calls them. :)

The upstairs playroom is Calico Critter land so I don't mind it because the mess stays in there and out of my view. Haha!

T and the girls left for church while I fed D. Then she and I got ready and headed to town so I could feed her before the birthday party. They met me there with two girls from church.

After we got home Mama, Noni, and Papa came out and brought presents!

Aunt Karen got Peaches a book and this sweet little doll that giggles when you press it. I love her crazy eyes!

Two Months

Whew! I still feel like we are on a roller coaster with this little one, but she is doing SO much better! Our prayers were answered and she has been exclusively nursing since December 29th! And most importantly gaining weight steadily while exclusively nursing! There were times I was sure we would never make it, but we did and I'm so happy! So is she...

She nurses a lot longer than any of the others have. She takes 25-30 minutes each side at every feeding, and would go even longer if I would let her, but at that point she's pretty much asleep. So we do a lot of sitting...6 hours a day just nursing. That doesn't even include the burping or between sides diaper change to wake her back up. 

Unfortunately she is our worst spitter-upper, and it seems like most of that comes back up. :P I have tried everything I can think of, including giving up dairy for five weeks, and nothing seems to make any difference. She continually spits up 5-6 times after every feeding. One funny thing is that she burps herself. While eating she will start squirming until she burps and then resume eating. Haha.

As you can see she is a very happy girl and easily gives smiles to anyone who comes near. She was smiling so big when the doctor was checking her eyes. It was adorable.

Speaking of the doctor. Here are her stats from the 2 month check up...

Weight: 10 lbs. 7 oz. – 25%

Height: 23 in. – 75%

Head circumference – 75%

For comparison here are her sisters' stats. You can see she is quite the lightweight, but I was just happy she was on the charts at all! I was afraid she might not be.

Peaches' were: 

Weight: 12 lbs. 13 oz. – 80%

Height: 23 1/4 in. – 75%

Head circumference – 50%

Peanut's were:

Weight: 11 lbs. 8 oz. – 50%

Height: 22 3/4 in. – 50%

Head circumference – 50%

Boo’s were:

Weight: 11 lbs. 9 oz. - 75%

Height: 23 1/8 inches - 80%

Head circumference - 75% 

Bug's were:

Weight: 11 lbs. 14 oz. – 75%

Height: 23 1/8 inches – 75%

Head circumference: – 75%

She did very well at the doctor and only cried for a minute with her shots. 

She is actually turning out to be a pretty easy-going baby at times. She will happily sit on the floor or in her rocker for 20-30 minutes while I make dinner or blog. She never cries anymore when she is getting her diaper changed or getting dressed...that is a happy improvement. She does hate getting her nails filed, and her boogers picked. Those both result in screaming baby!

She still naps after every feeding, and is nursing 6 times a day now, having dropped one of her nighttime feedings. At this age she should be sleeping at least 8 hours at a time, but she only goes 6....probably because she needs that extra milk to keep putting meat on those scrawny bones. Peaches was sleeping 10 hours straight at this point but she was also two and half pounds heavier! Check out these pictures if you don't believe me. Haha!

 

She has lost a little bit of hair, and is starting to get the back of the head bald spot :/ but she still has more hair than any of the others at this age! 

She wears a bib almost constantly...I was surprised I was able to get the above pictures before this happened. Haha.

Hopefully month three brings longer stretches of sleep and less spitting!

Pippi Longstocking

Boo had to do a unit study on a book of her choice and she chose Pippi Longstocking. We read it together. I had never read it before...quite interesting. I'm sure I would have loved it as a kid...the girls do, but as an adult she just seems like a handful. Haha! Anyway, Boo did a great job on her final project. Here is the video. :)
