Some of my favorite baby smiles are the ones with two bottom teeth peeking out. Love it.
Peanut cut her 2nd tooth on March 11th, and is working on her two-toothed smile.
Unfortunately she thinks it’s pretty funny to bite Ma-ma, but we’re working on nipping that “fun” activity in the bud.
She’s pretty happy with herself and her two teeth!
So far food has been a bit of a bust with Peanut. We haven’t found anything she likes. She has started clamping her mouth shut whenever we try to get something in. I thought maybe things would go better if she tried feeding herself so I got out the mesh bag and put a banana in it.
It worked great at first…
Until the banana actually started coming through the mesh, then she was done with it.
Speaking of the mesh bag…
Yep, that’s a little Boo Bear with the same bag!
I had to get a video of it the second time we tried. I really don’t force feed her…I was just trying to get her to do what she has been doing whenever we try to feed her something…a big sherbert!
I remember Boo doing the exact same thing. She didn’t want to eat anything until we tried some homemade applesauce at Grandma and Grandpa’s house and then the world of food became a fun and exciting place. Hopefully we’ll soon find something to unlock Peanut’s tastebuds. Until then I’ll keep trying to get her to eat…while ducking the flying globs.
The girls were playing with chalk so I came up with a way for Buggy to practice her math facts. She can do any (one or two digit) addition or subtraction problem, but she doesn’t have the quick facts memorized yet so I’ve been trying to come up with anything that will help get them ingrained in her brain. This turned out to be a great way…she loved it which is not always the case when we practice math facts. :)
I wrote out all the numbers and then, in the case of this picture, she had to put left foot on 5 + right foot on 7 to = hands on 12.
9-5=4
6+3=9
It was actually pretty fun!
Meanwhile, Boo was playing her own game of “how much can I play in the muddy flower beds before Mommy notices?”
I’d say her game was successful too. :)
Peanut is getting to be such a big girl! Looking at the other two makes me realize, even more, how quickly the baby months go, and that makes me want to hold Peanut any time she is awake. I definitely have to put her down to get things done, but I do like to hold her as much as possible.
Now that she is sitting up I can put her down in her room for 5-10 minutes and she will play happily with her toys. Whenever I walk by she spots me and gets a huge grin on her face. I had to get it on video. :)
We have been enjoying some gorgeous days around here! I am actually starting to hope for an early spring…but I’d better not say that or we’ll get snow tomorrow. :) This past weekend it was 50 and SUNNY!
We went to an auction on Saturday morning and as soon as we got home we were outside enjoying the warm day. We stayed out for three hours straight before I finally put Boo down for her nap. The girls were SO happy to be out and about playing in the sunshine!
Both the girls LOVE to swing! They could swing and swing and swing if I would stay out there to push them. I think one time last year I tested it to see how long they would do it and they went over 45 minutes before wanting to do something else. Usually I get tired of standing there so they only get to swing 15-20 minutes. :)
Bug was busy for quite a while making rock pictures.
Pretty good!
They rode bikes, played with some neighbor kids, did chalk, and played on their playset. I am SO ready for spring/summer!
Peanut just adores Buggy! She loves Boo too, but I think Boo is at an age where babies are just not that exciting. She loves Peanut to pieces and will give her hugs and kisses whenever prompted, but she doesn’t notice her as much as Bug does .
Bug is constantly asking to hold her and play with her so, consequently, Peanut thinks she’s the greatest. Buggy can get the best laughs out of her. I love to hear them “playing” together. :)
