Another huge project has been checked off the list! We started it back in April. T spent hours upon hours doing tractor work for weeks. He smoothed everything out, took dirt away from some spots, and filled it in at others. After over a month of nights and weekends he had a nice smooth spot for our would-be patio.
Grandma and Grandpa came over several times to help with elevations and building the forms.
Lou still loves to play on the tractor when she gets the chance.
Once he got the dirt all leveled and smooth we had to bring in four truckloads of gravel, smooth it all out, compact it, level it, and shoot elevations between all those steps. It was quite the process.
He also did the same thing for the driveway, but thankfully it didn't have to be exact. We laid down "road cloth" so the mud doesn't just suck up all the gravel.
Those gravel hills are a lot harder to disperse than you would think!
He ordered several loads of larger rock, and then the smaller gravel went over that, and now we have a driveway that doesn't turn into a mud pit every time it rains! Whoo hoo!!
Here's another day when Grandpa was over to help.
Lou likes to "help" too. Haha.
The girls are really good about playing outside while we work when it's not too cold.
It was fairly cold this particular day so Grandma went inside and the girls decided she needed every blanket in the house covering her. They were literally jumping on top of her and she couldn't even feel it because she was so buried. Haha!
