The Youth Group had an outing to the pumpkin patch one Sunday after church so we decided to join them! I was so thankful that we got to do this traditional Fall activity after a long summer of all our traditions cancelled.
The pumpkin patch was very well organized and people were able to spread out, wearing masks if they got within six feet of each other. Bug and Boo went off went a big group of their friends and a chaperone and we took A, E, and D to the kiddie area.
We started with goat feeding. They were funny little guys.
Lou LOVED the pea box. She laid in it and played in it for a good half hour while Peanut and Peaches did the slide and the pallet maze with Daddy.
They would join her for a bit and then run off again while she stayed. Peanut taught her how to make snow angels.
So happy!
This was new this year. A big pipe on a track that you could roll.
And the slide was much improved since the last time we went to this farm. They must have gone down it a dozen times.
Peanut took Lou down a couple of times.

They stayed with us long enough to pick their pumpkins and then it was back with their friends. Such is the life of a teen/tween. Haha. Although to be fair it WAS their event that we were tagging along to. :)
Peaches wanted this one, but we ended up getting her a smaller one that was flat on bottom. This one kept tipping over. The pumpkins were pretty picked over this late in the season.

I guess I missed getting a picture of Peanut with her pumpkin. She wanted to pull the cart.
We tried the other patch but it was picked over too.

We let the big girls say goodbye to their friends and took a short walk through the apple orchard. We showed Lou how apples grow on trees and then fall to the ground. She seemed totally surprised and happy. Haha!
I'm so glad we didn't have to miss out on the pumpkin patch! It was so nice to do a normal Fall family activity. I will never take these outings for granted again!
It was later than we anticipated by the time we got done and everyone was hungry. This was right after we'd gotten the new car though and we didn't want to let everyone eat in it. Since no fast food places are letting you dine in right now we decided we'd try to find a sit down restaurant.
We didn't realize (since we haven't eaten out in the city since COVID) that there is a 6 person to a table limit. We tried three places before we finally found one that would let us tack the baby onto the end of a table. None of the rest would let us in unless we split up. Texas Roadhouse was the winner! They did a great job too. All their workers wore masks, every other table was blocked off, and all patrons wore masks everywhere except for while sitting at their tables.
It was the first time the girls had ever eaten there and they loved it!
Daddy tried to take a picture of Lou on the end and she leaned toward me like she saw everyone else doing. So cute.
It was the perfect end to a wonderful family fun day!
