Easter Weekend

We started off Easter weekend with some bunny booty pancakes. :) 

 

The girls put on an Easter play for us.

 

We spent almost the entire day Saturday putting in an electric fence for Jax. He had gotten into the very bad habit of chasing cars so we figured we'd better get one put in before he caught one. :{

Bug and Boo were a huge help and worked for hours. 

 

Peanut and Peaches did a lot of playing outside, and they helped by going along behind us to set up the training flags. :)

 When we went in for dinner we took a time out to make Resurrection rolls. Each of the girls got three Jesus-marshmallows to roll in the oil (butter) and spices (sugar and cinnamon).

 

Then we ran back outside to finish the fence while they rose and then baked. I wish I had gotten a video. When I asked Peaches what happened to Jesus (the marshmallow) she said, "He melted!"

  

She had already eaten her roll by then and wanted mine. 

 

I gave her half of it which she promptly dropped on the floor. Jax snatched it up lickety split and left her crying her eyes out, "Dat was the last piece and Jax ATE IT!"

 

Oh and while we were fixing the fence Peanut apparently slammed Peaches head in the door leaving a small cut. :( 

The next morning we had an Easter sunrise breakfast. :)

 

Then we had our traditional Easter. We had debated what to do for Easter and we finally decided to make it as normal as possible for the girls. With the exception of physically going to church, and having the grandparents over for dinner we nailed it! Pictures later.

After naptime on Easter we participated in a city wide scavenger hunt that one of the gals from church had put together. There were 12 clues that led all over the city.

  

And the scavenger hunt ended at church. We had made the sign the day before and Miss J put up Noni's tomb from last year and decorated it with flowers. I thought it turned out really nice! The clue before it had said something about the next clue being the real reason we celebrate Easter.

  

Everyone who participated in the scavenger hunt got a little bag of treats, and also entered into several raffle drawings. Peanut ended up winning the one from the hardware store! It had gardening items and a bunch of candy. :)
