Ditch Diggin'

I don't know a lot about electrical stuff so I'm probably not going to say this right, but as far as I understand we had 200amp service coming in to our house and since we doubled the size of the house we needed to double our service to 400amp. We also have the big electrical lines coming right into the front of our house with conduit pipes just screwed to the front porch and front of the house. It looks terrible. So all that to say that T talked to our electrical company and was able to set a pole so they can come hook up extra service as well as get all our lines underground. 

We very carefully chose a spot that could not be seen from either the living room couches, the kitchen windows, or from where T and I sit at the dining room table and then he started digging.

If you want to keep country kids occupied for a few hours just dig them a fresh hole. Lol. 

 

The girls spent hours and hours out there digging in the dirt over a span of several days. 

Even Lou got in on it. She loves to be outside.

 

She kept trying to feed Jax rocks. :P

 

The girls were making farms and buildings and worm hotels.

T had to go in the crawl space under the house to hook things up. Lou was confused.

Peanut had literally been learning about frogs just a few days before and Daddy found her one. She was very happy!

I think it was going to be $2,000 for the electric company to come set a new pole for us. Grandpa called around and found a company that would sell us one for $600, but then T talked to one of his friends that works for the electric company and the guy just gave us one of the used ones he had! That was really nice! Plus the pole is weathered so it blends in a lot better than a new one.

The pole had to be buried 6ft in the ground.

Peanut has changed her career projection and now wants to be an archeologist. She loves going around the property "finding". She's amassing quite the collection!

 

When we were working on getting the pole set it was raining all around us, but we never got wet. And then there was a double rainbow...God's blessings abound.
