5 Months!

Lou continues to bring so much joy to our household! 

It's funny because I think of her as a happy baby, but "on paper" it doesn't seem like she is. She really doesn't eat very well, although she has been doing better the last week or so. I have to take her in our bedroom and shut the door or go to the car if we are out and about because she has very fussy feeds unless it is totally quiet and no one interrupts or makes loud noises that she can hear. :P

She also doesn't sleep very well. All the others were sleeping 11-13 hours straight at this age without a peep all night. She sleeps about 10 hours and often wakes up in the 6am hour and cries until I go in and tell her it's not time to get up yet. At which point she will quiet down, but never really goes back to sleep for more than a few minutes and I usually give up and get her up around 7. The others all slept till 8 or later as babies. 

You'd think she would nap better because of this...needing to get all her hours in, but that is not the case either. Every now and then she will take a solid 2-3 hour nap, but for the most part it is about an hour and then she wakes up crying. Sometimes she will put herself back to sleep, but usually I have to go in and calm her down and put her back down (as if it's the first time) and she will go back to sleep.

"Are you telling on me, Mama?!"

 

But despite her poor sleeping and eating (which is only like 75% of her life, right? haha) she really is a good baby! When she is awake she is happy and just looks around observing...and then gives huge smiles to anyone who looks her way.

She is also so sweet and cuddly...mostly for Mama. Haha :)

This month brings "talking" and giggles, and big slobbery kisses! She is SUPER squirmy all the time and quite hard to hold on to...she loves to be moving and kicking, but when you kiss her cheek she holds very still like she wants more kisses.

She loves her Jumperoo, and her walker and will play happily in it while I cook or clean. She has perfected the hand to mouth motion and grabs anything and everything she can and brings it to her mouth. She's not super fast yet, but she gets more efficient every day!

She dropped her 5th feeding so her schedule is now.

Wake: 7-8

Nap: 10-12

Nap: 7-7:30 

Eat: 8:30

Sleep: 9:30 

She's still on the scrawny side compared to her sisters, but has tipped over into the 15 pound range. She's working on her sitting up, and as soon as she has that mastered we will start introducing foods. 

For the most part she is our sweet and happy baby bringing light and joy to all she meets! We wouldn't trade her for anything!
