Last week was a little different. First of all on Monday Peanut woke up not feeling well. She had a low grade fever but no other symptoms. All she wanted was to be held.
We had planned to go up to Daddy’s work for lunch, but he ended up coming and picking up K&S and taking them to have lunch at the hospital and then bringing them back because I started rocking Peanut and the poor thing just fell right to sleep at 11 o’clock in the morning.
She wanted to be held at all times, and when I couldn’t, her big sister was a sufficient substitute. (sorry for the blurry picture)
Daddy had an out-of-town thing for work and since he was going to be gone for four days Grandma graciously offered to come stay with us.
It was SOOO nice having her! She kept the kitchen clean and the dishwasher emptied while we did schoolwork, and I actually got to do things like take a shower and work out in the middle of the day without little people banging down the door or hanging on my back. :) I was also able to make quick runs to the bank and post office without having to bundle everyone up and drag them out of the house. So so nice!
She read lots of books…
And sat with K during art class…
And kept A home while we went to Awana which is more helpful than you could ever know! Peanut has decided that the Awana circle is a happening place which if you know anything about Awana, it is the place where multiple kids running as hard as they possible can in a circle. A baby dashing into the middle of it is not the best idea to say the least. It was really nice to not have to try to keep her confined to my little secretary space where she destroys, screams, and often escapes.
Bug, Boo, and I were also able to go to the homeschool class on Friday afternoon while Grandma stayed home with Peanut so she could nap. All my pictures were blurry but you can still see the joy on Bug’s face during a rousing game of Sharks and Minnows.
Boo didn’t really understand so about halfway through Bug started holding her hand the whole time helping her play.
Then Boo wanted to be carried back to the classroom and Bug obliged.
So happy.
After the girls went to bed each night Grandma and I had a Anne of Green Gables crocheting marathon. We watched the entire set and worked on our respective projects. :) One night, because Peanut wasn’t feeling well she just would not go to sleep. She chatted and sang and finally started crying so Grandma went in (at 10:00!) and rocked her to sleep. After that she slept all night.
Daddy finally made it back on Friday night and brought home the game of Life. He thought the girls would like it and he was right! They loved it!
Grandma stayed one more night with us and then went home the next morning. Thank you SO SO much Grandma! We had a wonderful week with you and it was such a huge blessing to have your help! We love you!!!
Grandma's are the BEST!
