Happy New Year

Our new year started off a little rough.  On New Year’s Eve, after dropping Aunt Karen off at the airport, we went to a friend’s party and the little ones lasted till about 8:30.  I had promised K that she could stay up late on New Year’s Eve for the first time and she was SO excited.  We dropped her off at our church where there was a party going on (and Noni and Papa were there) and then picked her up at 10:45.  She was chattering a mile a minute and so excited that it took her a while to calm down and go to sleep. :)

We realized the next morning that we still had a few presents under the tree from people at T’s work.  One of his co-workers bought the girls some adorable dresses! I love them!

We had planned to stay home New Year’s day and then head to Grandma and Grandpa’s on Thursday for a visit, but we found out Auntie Nae was having a game night so after we got up and going to headed to her house. In hindsight we probably should have stayed home and had a day of rest, but we just kept right on going.  That night at the party K was so tired she feel asleep in the middle of a room full of kids playing (which has never happened) but I figured it was just because of her late night and no nap. 

Peanut LOVED her cousin’s bed.  At first she looked at it with this perplexed expression and she pounded the rails and said, “Ah?” like “Why does this crib have these weird sides??”  Then she started climbing in and out of it over and over. :)

We left at about 7:15 after Bug woke up and by that time she was saying she didn’t feel good.  By the time we got back both Bug and Boo were feeling sick.  That night we were up about five times with Boo throwing up once.  Thankfully all three of them slept till 9:00 the next morning.  We were supposed to go ice skating with Auntie Nae and Waylon, but they spent the day on the couches. 

Thankfully Peanut didn’t have any problems and happily toddled around getting into anything and everything.

When they weren’t on the couches sleeping, the girls were either watching YouTube (old Looney Tunes) clips, reading, or playing games.  Auntie Nae, Bug and I had a pretty good round of Monopoly going.  Bug creamed us.  She also beat me the next day.  It’s her new favorite game. 

I was hard pressed to keep Peanut away from the sickies and quiet enough not to bother them.  She is our busy girl!

This picture is kind of hard to see, but Grandpa stopped to rub Peanut’s head and she LOVED it!  She sat super still, just smiling, for several minutes.  It was really cute.

She also loved the bin of Legos and sat in there playing for about half an hour!

Despite all the sickness we enjoyed our time at Grandma and Grandpa’s and we promised to do our very best to not bring sickness again (the girls were also sick there at Thanksgiving)!  We made our way home on Friday evening and spent the rest of the weekend relaxing and trying to recover from our busy days. 

I think I need a vacation!  Haha :)
