Patio!

 We are already getting so much use out of our patio! It is now a roller rink, scooter station, chalk art canvas, and basketball court!

 

 

Oh, and a foursquare court!

 

 

Lou has taken off (haha) on her tricycle and peddles all over the place! 

 

 

And Peaches is riding her bike like a pro!

 

 They are out there at all hours of the day. Morning, afternoon, even after they already have their pajamas on.

 

 

They like to make roads and a town with chalk. :)

 

 

 

Shortly after it was poured Daddy prepped and poured the hole for Boo's birthday basketball hoop.

 

 

She's been practicing every day and having a great time with it!

 

 

We put our conversation set together one Saturday, but soon discovered that the tree above likes to spit sap so I'm going to have to figure out a different place for it.

We are loving our new patio!

Funny Friday

 

  

 

 

That last one is funny but not true for us! We have an amazing "village" with our wonderful families and our church family! We are blessed!!!

Leftover Thursday

 I got each of the girls a new swimsuit and flip flops for summer. Lou was so excited about hers and put it on right away!

 

 

Peaches was the same.

 

 

Peanut with the newest church member. :)

 

 

Peanut got out the facepaints one day and she and Peaches spent a long time having fun with them. She did a pretty good job!

Those weren't too terrible to get off but the next day she put dark blue all over Peaches' face and it took forever to get clean! :P

VBS! - Part 3

 On Thursday when it was almost time for snack I took Lou into the preschool room. She said she would stay in there if I got a picture of her coloring so I was happy to comply. Haha.

 

 

You can see the planes flying their way cross the sky...Noni put them on strings so they moved easily across. Such a cute way to track the money the kids raised!

I took that picture and then Peanut wanted one of us. :)

 

 

Speaking of Peanut...in order to inspire the kids Ms J, who was in charge of the memory verse each day, made a special contest. Anyone who said Philippians 4:4-9 perfectly in front of everyone would get $100 to put towards the fundraising for the girls vs. boys contest. Peanut was the only one in all 62 kids that did it perfectly!

 

 

 

Way to go Peanut!!!!

 

 

 The leaders asked if they could participate as well so Ms J added allowed them to say it as well for an extra $50 and Boo was the only one who said it perfectly! We are so proud of these girls!!

Friday I had to incorporate the other VBS favorite of "dirt and worms" but to Christmas it up we added whipped cream and called it "worms in snow". Haha.

 

 

Friday was the most exciting day because every kid got to pack a shoebox! We had been bringing things all week and then had a packing party for each age group! 

 

So happy!

What a great VBS theme! They had a blast and learned a lot more about OCC.

 

  AND they ended up raising over $2,000 for OCC! The girls won by only $80 so if Peanut and Boo hadn't gotten that extra money they would have lost! That makes up for the $1 incident of 2017. Haha!

We had our end of the week BBQ before cleaning up and calling it a week.

 

 

Whew! VBS is always such a fun, crazy, chaotic, busy, meaningful week!

VBS! - Part 2

 Noni taught on Tuesday and she had the coolest lesson! She devised a course for the kids to go from...I think Nazareth to Jerusalem? I might have that wrong because Bug took these pictures for me while I was in the kitchen.

 

No sitting and lecturing for 25 minutes in Noni's lessons! She is all about the hands on learning through fun!

 

 

Peanut made this lion all by herself. I think they had to defeat it before they could pass by. :)

 

 

Then across the plank and through the tunnel. Definitely a memorable lesson!

 

 

Here are some pictures Noni sent me later.

 

The kids had "snowball" fights during games everyday! On the hot days they soaked the snowballs in water first!

 

 

I make every snack a day ahead and then leave last minute assembly for the day of. So while we were serving the jello on Tuesday we were making the Christmas wreaths for Wednesday and Tuesday afternoon when we got home we spent hours making sugar cookies. They are always one of the favorites so I try to do them every year even though they take about six hours to make/bake/frost.

 

 

Wednesday we served the wreaths...

 

 

They were a big hit!

 

 

While those were getting served we assembled Thursday's snack...melted snowmen! This was the cutest snack this year in my opinion!

 

 

Bug started feeling sick so Noni ended up taking her home. She ended up missing the rest of the week which was a big bummer. :( 

 

Ms. C helped me finish the snowmen.

 

 

Boo had a lot of fun leading songs and really got the kids into it!

 

 

Thursday the cookies were served.

 

 

Noni was the missions leader and every day she got up to explain to the kids about Operation Christmas Child and showed them a short video. They always have the sweetest stories!
