"Knock Knock" - Part 4

April 18th

Spending the night at Noni's. Stalling bedtime: "I love you Noni...and I love mommy and daddy and K and S and A and D...(long pause)...and cookies!" 

April 25th 

Boo and Peaches went outside. I told her you can play in the dirt or in the rocks but stay away from the road! She nodded, "Stay away from the road! Cuz cars go shoom shoom and runned me over! And I die...from sins." 

April 26th 

Saying good morning to the baby. Lou smiled and giggled. Me: "She loves you!" E: "Yes! She does! She loves me! All peoples love me! Mommy loves me. Daddy loves me. Noni loves me. Papa loves me. Grandma loves me. Grandpa loves me. Abby loves me. All peoples love me that come in my house.

April 26th

Comes into the kitchen and sees Daddy and Boo baking. "I want cake!" Me: "There is leftover cake or Daddy and S are making cookies. If you have cake you can't have cookies." E: "I want cake!" I gave her cake, but 20 minutes later the cookies were done. E: "I get cookies!" Me: "No you don't. You had cake." E: "I don't like cake!" Me: "Then why did you eat it?" E: "No! I like cookies!" 

April 29th

"Look Mommy! I'm doing my spelling words!" Me: "Wow you are doing a good job!" E: "Yes I am! I'm so proud of you!" 

April 29th

"Mommy you be a monster!" Me: "No thank you. I don't want to be a monster." E: turns to her sister, "Ok, A, you be the monster!" A: "No I don't want to be a monster." E: hands out with all the encouragement she can muster, "Guys! You can DO this!" 

April 30th

She came down from her nap and found A's abandoned bowl of pretzels. "Oh yeah! I find snacks!" 

April 30th

We had been playing I spy at meal time so as soon as she sat down for dinner she yelled excitedly, "Let's play spies! I spy something green!" Without even pausing to give us a chance to guess..."The GRASS!"

Funny Friday

 This was an ad on my phone after I was looking up dance shoes for the girls...I think the pants look like a Hefty garbage bag! :P

Leftover Thursday

T has been wanting to restore an old pickup for years, and finally found a good deal! Bug got her schoolwork done so that she could go with him to pick it up and they took a road trip for the day. It took them THREE hours to get it loaded along with all the parts and pieces the guy had already bought for it. 

Grandpa came over and helped us build a temporary lean-to off the grange so that it wouldn't be out in the weather. It will be several years before T actually gets time to work on it, but he is happy to have it waiting for him. :)

The girls were playing outside one day and when I looked out later I couldn't decide if they were having a snowball fight or preparing for trench warfare. :P

Buggy wanted Lou to "play" the piano. :)

Lou was sleeping so hard one day...I went in to wake her up because we needed to take Peanut to basketball practice and she didn't even move. I even talked to her and rubbed her face but she was out cold. Daddy left work early and came and got Peanut and took her to practice, and Lou got an extra hour of sleep and woke up SO happy! Thanks Daddy!

A living room for Te...and he's watching te's on TV. :)

I came around the corner the other morning to find a teal-faced baby.

She toddled right over to show me where she found the markers and was pretty pleased with herself!

Wordless Wednesday

Aquarium!

 I had told some homeschool friends that we were thinking of going to the aquarium for the girls' birthdays and they said they had been wanting to go so I invited the whole homeschool group and we ended up having a group of a little over 30, including parents. 

Usually the girls race past this picture outside since "It scary!" as Peaches says, but this time they were brave and wanted a picture with it. :) 

Birthday girls!

The first thing they wanted to do was pet the stingrays. They are pretty fun and feel so slippery and rubbery! 

Daddy helped Peaches feed one. 

The girls had so much fun being there with their friends!

 

Peaches loved the water features and played with them at several points of the afternoon.

See that little boy in front of her? Later she decided to try to "help" him reach up and put a ball in the tank and swung him up to the side, but instead of him standing on the side like she was apparently anticipating, she dumped him right in the water and he got soaked. Good grief. I felt so bad! Especially when it was freezing outside! :/ Thankfully they are friends of ours and his mom was very gracious about it.

 We all went into the bird room for a long time. Lou was pretty suspicious of them. Haha.

 

She liked looking at them, but she did not like when they landed on her...which is totally understandable because their little claws scratch the kids up pretty bad. 

 

But it's still really neat to have these beautiful birds land all over you! 

I like the teal-bellied ones.

This was Daddy's first time seeing them and the girls thought it was hilarious when a bird landed on his head! 

The first time we went it seemed like they weren't quite so crazy. This time they were fighting over the food and kept getting startled and swooping, as a group, up to the trees and back down again.

Peaches loves this turtle! I don't know if it's more her speed or what, but this is one of her favorite parts of the whole place. It doesn't even do anything...I think it was actually asleep at this time.

Noni looked after this little one while we chased after the big girls. She was busy and loved all the action!

This isn't all the kids, but a good portion of them.

 

Lou and I took a nursing break and she found a mirror is great fun!

A two headed pirate!

Peanut really wanted me to take this picture. :) 

Lou enjoyed "fishing" for the magnet fish. 

Bug fed the stingrays near the end. The big one is named Bubbles.

These little fish come and eat the dead skin off your hands when you stick them in...kinda gross!

What a fun day celebrating our birthday girls!

Actual Birthdays Before and After

 It felt like we were celebrating birthdays for a week by the time the actual birthdays came around. Haha. We got up early that morning and the girls got their big presents. Boo got a big Lego set.

And we got Peaches a fort building kit. At the last minute I threw in a Minnie Mouse art kit that T had happened upon at Home Depot of all places, and that is what she is so excited about in these pictures. Haha!

She didn't even care about the fort kit. Lol.

We had pancakes and sang happy birthday.

And let the girls open a few presents. They both got Calico Critter sets from Auntie M and Uncle B.

Peaches went to school and had a party with her friends. 

T went to work for the three hours she was there and then took the rest of the day off. She got to wear the birthday hat at school. :)

And got cupcakes!

 The big girls had the day off of school because it was the semester break. Perfect timing! They spent the morning playing with the new toys.

Lou had her morning nap, ate, and then we headed to town as soon as Daddy and Peaches got back. We went straight for lunch. The birthday girls picked Panera Bread. Buggy had never had it before so she was excited! 

 

After lunch we headed to the aquarium where we met 30+ of our homeschool friends! We spent a really fun three hours there...pictures from that tomorrow. 

After we left the girls got to open Mama and Aunt Karen's presents at a table in the mall. 

  

They got birthday money from Aunt Karen!

 

 Mama got Boo a really neat game called Pictopia.

And a Barbie set for Peaches.

By then it was dinner time so we headed to our favorite Chinese place where they opened the rest of their presents. Boo got the sweetest little earrings from Auntie N and Uncle M! Ten is the earring birthday, but since she's in the middle of basketball season she decided to wait.

They got showered with so many wonderful gifts! 

So happy!

Our big four year old crashed on the way home. 

We went straight to the gym where Boo was just in time for basketball practice. We dropped her off and then Daddy ran the rest of us home so we could get ready for bed while he went back to pick her up. Whew. What a busy, fun day!
