Peanut is LOVING bath time lately!  She will happily splash and play for as long as I will let her!  When she hears the water running she crawls like lightening to the bathroom and pulls herself up to the edge.

I found this a few weeks after Easter. :)

Peanut likes to stick her limbs through the crib slats now that her bumper is off.  Sometimes she acts like she is stuck, but I think she has just figured out how to work the system. :)

Spaghetti!

We tried out a new restaurant the other day with Mama.  It was completely empty when we got there (not a good sign? :) I went up to order and looked over to find the girls had promptly discovered some video games.

The girls were excited to find a “rainbow” on the ceiling from a reflecting CD on the window sill the other day.

Our little princess.  Boo has gotten out of the fancy-dress-every-single-day phase, but she will occasionally still put one on.  This was the day of the last t-ball game so she was the best dressed fan there!

Bug got into the face paints the other day!  She actually had a pretty nice design, but her whole face was COVERED and I may have over-reacted :P causing her to wash it all off (sort of) before I got a picture.  She looked like Violet from Willy Wonka. :P

Wordless Wednesday

 

10 Months

10 months already!  Time is flying by!  Our biggest change this month is that Peanut has dropped her late evening nap.  Her schedule is now:

Wake: 7:30-8:30

Breakfast

Nap: 10-12

Lunch

Nap: 2-4

Dinner

Bedtime: 8:30-9

Sometimes the evenings get a little long, but she is pretty happy as long as she has had good naps during the day. 

One bad thing is that she is not as much of an on-the-go napper as the other two were.  If we are out and about she will catch a 20-30 minute nap rather than her 2 hours, and she doesn’t usually make it up creating a bit of a crabby evening…for all of us!  Haha :)

BUSY is the best word that describes her these days!  She is into everything, and is everywhere!  She is getting very fast and is no longer content to sit in the pack and play.  She wants to be free to roam and find anything and everything she can get her hands on!  I can put her down in the living room and within 30 seconds she is in the kitchen.

She looks really long to me in this picture! I can tell she’s lengthing out, and her hair finally is too!  At least on top.  Daddy calls it her “comb-over”. :)

She is a happy happy girl!  The other day she wasn’t feeling well and fussed and fussed and made me realize what a typically easygoing baby she is!  Most of our days are filled with smiles and giggles!

She is eating anything and everything these days.  We give her bits of whatever we are eating and she loves to feed herself.  She’s not too fond of being spoon fed.  Favorites are : bananas, cheddar cheese, peas, carrots, cheerios, mac and cheese, and any type of bread or cracker.  Long noodles were recently introduced and she seems to enjoy both playing with and eating them. :)

She is starting to try different sounds and I’m pretty sure I heard an “uh-oh” yesterday.  That is always one of my favorites. :)

At mealtimes she is LOUD!  Like pierce-your-eardrum yelling!  If she sees food on someone's plate that she doesn’t have she makes it known that she wants it!  We are trying to get her to sign instead of screeching, but so far no success.

We’re lovin’ life with our busy busy baby!  I can’t believe we’re closing in on a year already!

Father’s Day Weekend

We had such a great weekend!  On Saturday afternoon (after spending the morning cleaning the garage) we decided to go on a spontaneous adventure to a new pool that a friend had recommended to us. 

It was PERFECT! Not too crowded and very much little-kid friendly!   There was a regular pool and then a zero entry wading pool connected to a smaller pool that only got four feet deep. The only downside was a little bit of a drive, but it wasn’t bad and the girls had a BLAST so it was well worth it.   They even had a water slide!

We would only tell them we were going on an adventure so they were SO excited when they finally saw where we were.

For someone who didn’t like baths until recently, Peanut has certainly turned into a water baby!  She was having so much fun splashing and floating.  She protested loudly anytime we took her out of the water.

Boo was ready to go charging down the slide by herself, but she was under the height limit.  Fortunately they allowed her to go if she was with one of us and we took her about two dozen times (not exaggerating!) apiece. 

Buggy was a little timid at first and insisted she needed her life jacket.  As soon as we put it on she headed up the stairs and went down the slide all by herself!  I was very impressed with her bravery! Of course, I had no idea one could actually go so slow on a water slide, but she eventually came inching along towards the bottom, plopped into the pool and doggie paddled her way to the stairs. :)  She found a little friend and the two of them went up the stairs and down the slide for almost an hour and half without stopping!!!

After a particularly fast ride and sound dunking in the pool for Boo and Daddy we got out and took a break. :)

We didn’t realize they closed at 5 for an adult swim hour so we had to leave, but we’d already been there for over two hours and the girls were pretty tired.  I think they could have stayed for hours longer!  We will definitely have to go back sometime!

We got some dinner and then jumped in the car for the drive home.  Boo looked like this just a few miles down the road. :)

What a great day!

Sunday morning we woke up early and T opened his presents.  We went with a baseball theme this year because they are doing some remodeling at the hospital and he’s going to be getting a new office.  We got him a clock, some bookends, some pictures, and some baseball art.

We went to Sunday School, started church and stayed until the singing was over and I was done playing the piano before hopping in the car to drive to meet Grandma and Grandpa for a Father’s day lunch.  I didn’t get any pictures the rest of the day…what was I thinking?!? :)

After lunch we made a few stops and then met Papa at a golf course where T and Bug stayed to play golf and I took the little ones back to Noni and Papa’s house.  We played cards with Mama, jumped on the trampoline and then made dinner for the golfers.  Lasagna, brownies, and a little playtime later and then we were back in the car on the way home to crash.  I had to wake the girls up at 8:40 this morning to get to VBS on time!  They were pooped after our big fun weekend! 

Happy Father’s day to all the wonderful Father’s we know!!!

Baby Beluga

I have had Baby Beluga stuck in my head every Tuesday for the past 6 months.  The girls come home singing it every time they go to dance class since that was their “number” this year.  We’ve been waiting all week for the big recital and it was just as cute as I hoped it would be!  Since the weather was nice they got to dance on the outside stage.  The theme was Summer and all the acts were fun, summery songs.  The girls’ ballet was Baby Beluga, and their tap dance was Wipeout.

Boo was so cute up there.  She waved and smiled whenever she saw us. :)

Here we go…

We couldn’t get the camera to zoom at first so it’s hard to see them in this video.  Boo’s hair flower is white and Bug’s is purplish pink.

It was obvious that these girls have improved a lot in their second year of dance!  Look at this picture…almost all of them are in the same position!

LOVE this, Boo is looking back at K to see what she should be doing.  Very much a snapshot into their lives.  :)

Peanut wasn’t too interested in the dancing, but the freshly cut grass was pretty exciting.

Here is Wipeout.  I had been helping the girls practice Baby Beluga so I knew the routine by heart, but I hadn’t seen Wipeout before.  I LOVED Boo’s “dance” parts. SO cute.

She is getting to be quite the little dancer and a lot of the girls watch her to see what they should be doing.  She will be moving up to the 6-9 group next year.

For the finale they all got up there and were led in Psy’s Gangnam Style.  They had so much fun.  It was really cute.

And we had to get a picture with Miss K before we left!  She is such a great dance teacher!
