Dentist

Peaches had her first "big" checkup at the dentist the other day. Her other appointment was basically just to get her exposed to it. This time they actually took x-rays and cleaned her teeth. Noni came with us and took the girls in while I fed the baby in the car so I missed all of Peaches stuff, but Noni said she did great! The technician told her she was the best 3 year old she'd ever had!

 

Noni had to hold her while she got her teeth cleaned, but she let them do it.

I guess she had started to lay down before the chair went all the way back. Haha.

All the other girls are pros. They love the dentist.

I know the angle is making them even longer, but Boo is getting so tall and really does have long legs!

I came in just in time to fill out some paperwork and be there when the dentist came to check teeth. We have a couple "shadows" on Bug and Peaches....time to start making her floss every night! 

Peaches needed some moral support to let Dr. J look in her mouth. Haha.

Saturday Baths

It always seems so hard to make the time for baths. :P The big girls only get 2 or 3 bath/showers a week, but baby girl only gets baths on Saturday morning. She loves them and sit there and splashes around until I get her out. She never fusses. Not even when it's time to wash up. I really should try to bathe her more than once a week, but school takes the priority.

Peaches likes to take a bath with her. :)

La la la!

 

Her hair really doesn't look that long when it's laying flat but when it's wet and sticking up you can see it's 3-5 inches! Haha!

4 Month Check Up

Daddy came home to watch the big girls so I could take D to her 4 month checkup. She proved what I have suspected...that she will just stay awake if not put down for a nap no matter how tired she is. Her appointment was right during nap time, but she was wide awake, and pretty happy as long as I held her.

I was very thankful to find that she's gone up on the percentage chart! She weighed in at 13 pounds 9 ounces and went from the 25% to 32% since her two month checkup. Whew. She actually went down in the length though. She was at the 75% at two months and now she is in the 50% at 25.25 inches. The doctor didn't seem worried. Her head circumference stayed in the 75%. She's got a big noggin I guess. Haha.

She did wonderful with the doctor and seemed amused when he checked her eyes, ears, lungs, and tummy. She was not happy about the oral rotovirus vaccine, and she had to have two shots. :( The first one she didn't even flinch, but the second one she did the whole intake of breath for several seconds before screaming her head off. :( Thankfully it only lasted a minute and I got her calmed down, but then she started screaming again when I had to put her in the car seat.

But within 2 minutes she was fast asleep.

This was one of the last nights that she had a late night nap. She had been eating at 9:30 and not going to bed until 11 so I shifted her schedule (with the help of daylight saving...first time it's actually been useful) so that she would start eating at 8:30 and going to bed at 9:30. It worked out well.

 

For a couple weeks she kept having really fussy nursing sessions where she would eat for a few minutes and then start crying and crying and just would not calm down. Finally I figured out to switch her back and forth because my lactation consultant said she might be getting upset about a lull in the milk flow. It got really bad there for a few days. This is what I had to do one night to get her to sleep. 

 

Thank goodness she stopped doing it a couple days ago and has been doing much better. I swear this little one is just bent on shaking up my "normal"! She has been so different than all her sisters. I feel like a first time mom with her...never knowing what crazy thing she is going to pull next. Haha. Hurricane toddler and unpredictable baby...God must be trying to teach me how to be more flexible and more dependent on Him! I hope I get it down soon...I'm tired of the lessons. Lol.

Wordless Wednesday

Grand Prix

We just had our AWANA Grand Prix, and as always it was a big hit! 

  

I missed the Cubbie races while I was feeding baby girl, but Noni sent me a few pictures.  

Each child gets to bring their car up to the race master. So little! :)

Noni always has so many Cubbies! They used to have a cut off for numbers, but she doesn't want any little ones to miss out on hearing about Jesus! She does a great job with them...no one else can keep those squirmy little cuties under control and still having fun like she can. Haha. 

I made it just in time to see Peanut race her car. She had picked out her car weeks before and was so excited about it, and then forgot to take it with her and had to use a spare one Noni had. :P

  

This was the first time I'd been to AWANA since baby was born. Peanut was super happy to see us! :)

I helped out in the kitchen and then popped out to take some pictures of the T&T races.

Bug did Lightning McQueen this year, and Boo did Mater. :)

And Boo won second place for design! She was SOO happy! And I love how happy Bug was FOR her! So sweet!

Bug and Peanut both won a ribbon last year, and now Boo has one. So proud!

I thought they did an awesome job!

Hooray for another great Grand Prix!

4 Months

4 months already! This little one is changing and growing so quickly! She's filling out nicely and doesn't look quite so scrawny anymore, although she is still small compared to her sisters at this age.

She is also still fussier than all the others, but has gotten SO much better! She does still wake up from every nap and start crying, and she is quick to fuss when she wants something, but she's also quick to give smiles and coos to any of us who look her way.

Our best improvement this month is sleep! On March 18th she started sleeping through the night! She went down at 9:30 and woke up at 7:45! Not quite as long as her sisters, and about 5 weeks "late", but she made it! Yippee! She does still wake up in the night, but usually goes back to sleep without too much fuss. For some reason she wakes up around 6:30 every morning. Sometimes she goes back to sleep with no fuss, sometimes squawks just long enough to wake us up, and other times she will cry until we have to go in and calm her down.

Her sisters adore her and everyone wants to hold her and coax smiles from her.

I love this little half smile she does sometimes. :)

She's getting so expressive!

We have gotten a few giggles out of her but she mostly does this funny laugh/noise. It's like a one-syllable cackle. Haha. I'll have to try to get it on video.

Peaches loves her so much and for the most part is gentle and sweet, but still gets too excited sometimes pulls too hard on her arms or legs.

 

She's starting to make lots more sounds and noises, but is not overly "talkative" yet. 

She has started reaching out and grabbing things...and especially likes to play with her burp rag and try to get it in her mouth.

Length wise she is starting to outgrow the 0-3 month clothes. I need to pull out the 3-6 month bin. She has moved to 5 feedings a day so her schedule is: 

7:30/8 - eat

9:30-11/11:30 - nap then eat

1-2:30 - nap then eat

4-5:30 - nap then eat

6:30-8:30 play, fitful nap, wake

8:30 - eat

9:30 - bed

She is in that terribly distractible phase so I have to go in our room and shut the door when I feed her, and if anyone comes in or knocks on the door it throws a kink in the whole feeding. :( 

Kung fu baby!

As you know she can roll from tummy to back, but still hasn't made it the other way. She doesn't get as much tummy time as she should because most sessions only last a minute or two before she spits up all over the place and then rubs her face in it.  Speaking of spit of though...she's doing better! It's now heavy spitting instead of a ridiculous amount. She does have days when it's worse than others, but the bib contains it about 50% of the time...or maybe I'm just getting better at anticipating and catching it. Haha.

For the most part she is a happy girl and we love love love her!
