Leftover Thursday

Peaches loves the air compressor. She gets on it and says, "I ride my tractor!" Haha!

Here she is another day before she figured out how to climb all the way up. Our vanity box sat in the dining room for several days and she would run over and point to the men in the picture laughing, "That's not Daddy! Hahaha!" :)

One Sunday morning we woke up to find a Mama and her two babies checking out our future garden area. They were only about 20 feet away from us, but I guess they understood that we were looking at them though a window and wouldn't bother them.

The girls have been coming with me to worship team practice, and every now and then Peaches will get her feelings hurt, or fall down and need some snuggles. Whenever she does she grabs the mike and tries to sing along. :)

 

9 months.

Wordless Wednesday

Kitchen

The first month we lived here the pantry was just full of boxes.  I actually got pretty good at finding what I needed and knowing what was in each box. :P

But T went all out and got this great shelving system and got it all set up for me! We had originally planned to put our fridge from the other house in there which would have cut the pantry in half, but something happened to it during the move and it hasn't worked since. So we ended up with a LOT of space!

The North wall of the kitchen was also full of boxes the first month.

When T put in the shelving he cleared them all out as well.

 

The table and boxes of tools in the kitchen really started to drive me crazy about week 5 so I relocated everything to the laundry room and was much happier. 

 We were so excited the day the cabinets were delivered!

 

Even though that meant our makeshift kitchen became even more makeshift for a week. :P 

The cabinet install seemed to take FOREVER! I thought it would be a day, maybe two. Two guys delivered them on a Monday. Tuesday we waited and waited and no one came...I texted the person who had texted me previously and no response. T finally called and they said it was the 31st not the 30th. Now I know I have major baby brain, but I was in the store when I put the install date into my phone and I for sure would have taken note if they had told me it was going to be Halloween. Oh well. 

So finally the next day the installer came. It was just one guy, and he was extremely meticulous which is exactly what you want and made for an awesome finished product, but I couldn't leave the house for a week! It took him 7 different days of working to finish! Tues.-Sat. and then Monday and Wednesday the following week. 7 days of not only being stuck in the house, but all the noise! It seemed like he mostly used all of the tools I hate (because they literally hurt my ears!). Lol. Air compressor, impact driver, a saw thing that makes the most obnoxious noise! I think Peaches said, "MAMA! SO LOUD!" about 500 times. 

I tried to get a video of her saying it, but she was too preoccupied with lunch. Boo got her to say it at the end. Normally she would scream it to compete with the noise of whatever tool he was using at the time. :P

But the end result was SO worth it! I LOVE how it turned out!!! 

Now T just has to cut the countertops (we chose butcher block) and get them sealed. Then we can install the sink, dishwasher, and stove top! Then we can move on to the walls which are going to have faux brick tiles. Yippee!

Some Before and Afters

I wish I had gotten a before picture of these lockers...they were orange, and all rusty and dented. T bought them for me at an auction for $40 a couple of years ago and they've been sitting out here in the garage. I think I spent over $40 in spray paint, but I love how they turned out!!! The girls love them too for storing their coats, AWANA bags, dance bags, etc. They also like to play school with them. :)

The first couple of weeks we were here we had to live with this attic hole in our bedroom ceiling (because we had so much other critical stuff to finish. It started getting pretty drafty as the days began to get colder.

So one day T made time to fix a cover for it. Instantly warmer!

When we first arrived we just dumped all our books and boxes of books in the library.

I found black bookshelves on Amazon. Much better! 

The laundry room was another dumping spot. After a few weeks of this mess I was going crazy so one Saturday morning we made it a priority to get the cabinets put up so we could get everything put away!

I love how our upstairs bathroom turned out! This was before the mirror arrived...for some reason it took weeks longer than everything else.

The girls' bathroom in the basement turned out really well too! I'm loving all the different tile we chose for each area! I'm glad we didn't just go with the same wood tile in every bathroom like we originally planned.

Peanut and Bug had chairs and boxes stacked up to get up to their beds for the first few weeks so one weekend we made it a priority to get them ladders. This was an old, homemade, green ladder we found half buried in the grass and dirt by the old shed. We dug it out, sanded it down, cut it in half, and painted it. Perfect!

Another thing I had to live with for a few weeks was my"closet". It worked at first, but the more I pulled clothes out of the stack the more wrinkled the pile became. :P It was starting to drive me a little nuts and became a priority at the one month mark.

We got the closet system ordered and T had it installed in just a couple of hours. I cleaned everything out of our closets that could be considered summer wear and put it in bins so we would have enough space in our shared closet. Much better than the floor!

You'll notice "priority" is a big word in our house these days. We have a big "To Do" list and every week we check our list and say, "Ok, what is the priority this week?" Although it's mostly a question of what-is-driving-me-the-most-crazy-that-I-just-can't-live-with-anymore. Haha! It's funny how I can live with something for a while, and then all of the sudden, one day, I feel like I just can't take it any more!

I didn't have any pictures on the walls, and whenever T was home I wanted him working on higher priority things, so one day I just decided to get out the tape measure and level and hang some myself! I bought a collage frame for baby and it's all ready for pictures of her!

Disney On Ice

We weren't planning to go to Disney On Ice, but my friend had some extra tickets so we decided to go for it.

 

 I'm so glad we did because it is always SO great! I guess it's been a few years since we went because Peanut didn't remember going before. She loved it and was so excited! She kept telling me, "Take a picture of that Mama! Take a picture!" Our favorite part was when Eugene and Rapunzel went flying up in the air on her "hair". SO cool!

 

During intermission I let them get Dippin' Dots which are always a big treat.

Peanut dropped her spoon shortly after this picture (but after the show had already started again) and had to eat them with her fingers. :P

Funny Friday

 

I saw this right after we moved and I had literally thrown away 30 plastic lids that had no matching container.
