Acts 4:12

Noni did a fabulous job with the church kids, as usual! She made up a little poem thing and had Peanut and Boo memorize it. It was fast paced and had to be timed perfectly to fit into the music, but they did a great job with it! 

Look at the tongue out on the little one. You can tell she's got an ornery streak!

She didn't sing any of the song except, "SAVED!" which she exclaimed with hands in the air. 

She's prasin' Jesus! :)

These pictures were from practice. In the live version there were a couple more kids and she was able to do the exclamation point which worked out nicely because she could never get the "S" up at the right time and it kept saying "ESU" (because the little girl on the other end wasn't holding up the "J" either. Haha!

There they go! 

Peaches was cracking me up. She was SO excited! :) Way to go Peanut and Boo!

Leftover Thursday

Boo has been doing a geology unit in Science. If I remember right this is when Bug got into collecting rocks.

Science is not my favorite subject...I think entirely because of the mess factor. It is by far the messiest subject...even worse than Art. As Mrs. Frizzle says, "Make mistakes and get MESSY!" We definitely have that part down. I was cleaning up sand particles for days! :P

Peaches LOVES Awana! She is technically not old enough to go, but Noni allows her to come. She has a ball with the Cubbies and thinks she is just as big as they are! 

Our friends from Arkansas were here for a few weeks for a family wedding and we got to spend some time with them! Baby T is so cute, and the girls loved him! 

Hat night at Awana! She looked so little and adorable as she ran off to the Cubbie room.

Hunting Eggs

 I still need to upload the video from the church song so I'll get that up later this week. For now, here at the pictures from the girls Easter egg hunt. First off, Noni to the rescue again with the egg dying! I dropped the girls off at her house one day and they were able to get creative with their eggs!

 

We all got haircuts, but Buggy's is definitely the most noticeable!

T and I had prepared a whole bag full of eggs which took him quite a while to hide. They had so much fun hunting for them!

And Peaches totally got into it this year! We designated the two front flower beds for her so they were a little easier to find.

Daddy always says, "Look high, look low!"

After the big hunt it was into the house to sort the loot!

 Mama helped Peaches open her eggs and about halfway through she was able to do it on her own. So sweet.

 Hope your Easter was egg-stra special! :P

Passover

We have never really celebrated the Passover before, but some missionaries were visiting our church this Easter and put on a traditional Passover Seder dinner for all who wanted to attend. It was really interesting. 

 

We had a potluck in the middle of it (in order to eat more than unleavened bread and interesting spices), but they had a script and all the traditional things for us to try including the "bitter herbs" and everything. The "roots" used were ginger...if you've ever had fresh ginger before Boo summed it up nicely, "It tastes like fire." Haha! We also had to try parsley dipped in salt water. Yuck.

I'm not sure how much the kids got out of it, but I think they did learn a little. They especially liked that you got to drink "wine" (juice) four different times.

Their favorite and most memorable part by far was that a bunch of people volunteered to put on an impromptu play about Moses' life and the Exodus from Egypt. Boo played Joseph in the coat of many colors. 

Peanut played Miriam with baby Moses in her basket.

Bug was the Pharoah's daughter. 

The hilarious part was when they started going through the plagues. The threw handfuls of rice (for the lice), bits of black paper (for the flies), rubber frogs, drew red dots on everyone with a marker for boils, crumpled up balls of paper for the hail, and so forth. It was total chaos and quite hilarious and after every plague we in the audience chimed in with "Let my people go!" 

The only downside was Peaches had a hard time sitting still. She went to the bathroom five times in the 1.75 hours we were there and was all over the place. I don't think this is the intended traditional use of Matza bread. 

But all in all it was a good learning experience and I'm glad we did it!

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter! We did the usual Easter baskets...maybe with not quite as much stuff as usual. With the upcoming move I've been trying to get rid of stuff and reticent to add to the piles of stuff we have everywhere.

The girls didn't seem to notice and were happy with their things!

I said, "Since it's Easter I probably won't do an April Fools Joke." The girls said, "NO! You have to do something!" I only play one joke on them, but apparently they like it. This year I saw on Pinterest to get a box of donuts...this one had a cellophane window so I had to put an Easter sign over it. 

And inside they find a veggie tray, or in our case a bag of celery. 

 

We had to grab some pictures before we left for church...

Noni worked on an Easter song for several weeks with the church kids...will post that tomorrow. When we got back we had a big ham "dinner", and grabbed a few more pictures before they went to change.  

Grandma and Grandpa weren't able to join us this year, but Noni, Papa, and Mama came.
