Father’s Day Weekend

Another busy weekend has flown by!  We had a impromptu sleepover with our cousins on their way through to Grandma and Grandpa’s house!  The girls stayed up REALLY late and were exhausted the next morning, but they had so much fun!

On Saturday it was the annual garage sales so we made the trek out with several friends from church.  We got up super early (for us) and drove out.  We actually had a really good time despite the rain and cold temperatures.  Peanut entertained us all with her happy laughter.  She was great even though she usually gets about two hours more sleep than she’d had.

The kids were getting pretty miserable after a couple of hours of soaking rain so they were happy to find this little house for sale at one place.  They played in it while the Dad’s walked back to the cars and brought them to us so we didn’t have to walk any further.

We got some great deals on clothes, books, a few toys, some Christmas lights, winter boots, and more.  This is what the kids looked like just a few miles out of town.

I loved how Peanut crossed her legs while she slept.

On Sunday morning I had to be to worship team by 8, but the girls were already up so we let Daddy open his presents really quick.  His big presents were nerf bars for his pickup and a new bike, but we also framed him a picture of the girls from T-ball.

Then I had to get a picture of my favorites.

After church we ran into town to meet up with the whole clan for lunch.  The girls had a great time with their cousins!

We brought Grandma home with us because she has graciously agreed to come out for the week and take care of Peanut while Bug, Boo, and I are at VBS. So nice! 

We had to stop by Walmart on the way home and the girls got stuck in the book section.  My three little bookworms. :)

We headed to Noni and Papa’s to drop some things off and then since we’d finished lunch at 3:00 and weren’t really hungry for a full dinner we stopped and and got cheesy bread and milkshakes for dinner!  We made sure to tell the girls that it was a once in a blue moon treat! Haha :)

Parade

Last Saturday we didn’t have any plans (for the first time in two months) so we decided to head over to the next town and check out their town days.  The girls LOVE parades!  Peanut was very impressed this year!  She was pointing and shouting, “Yook!  Yook!”

And then when they got close she just stared and stared.

Here’s a little video I got of her.  She wasn’t as loud when she saw me videoing, but it was pretty hilarious to watch her get so excited.  When they horses went by she was shouting, “Neigh!  Neigh!”

The girls had an extra good time because we ran into their friends right before the parade started. K had a panama jack look going on. :)

And I thought this one was really neat!

But this was my favorite.  It was Alice in Wonderland, which isn’t my favorite story, but the float was majorly impressive! 

It’s hard to see all the details but they did an awesome job!  I heard the announcer say they won the grand award or something so I guess others agreed.

After the parade we went over to check out some of the booths and get some fried, fair-type food.  We spent the rest of the day cleaning out the basement so I was glad we had a fun family morning!

February 6th – both recorded by Noni

We picked up a pizza for the next night and S wanted to carry it out.  As she was maneuvering out the door she said, “Don’t lose me in the street where I could get runned over because I am your granddaughter!”

At Chuck E. Cheese: the lady comes out and says Chuck E. will be appearing in 5 minutes. Boo wanted OUT of there!  We went to Lifeway next and while walking across the parking lot she says, “Chuck E. Cheese doesn’t come into this store, right Noni?”

February 8th

Sitting next to me while I was working on the computer…“Mommy! You know who T is.  He is your husband.  And I am your child.  Coloring. This is Daddy.  Does he look pretty handsome? I would appreciate it Mommy if you would want to color this.  Did you think it looked like your husband?”

February 13th

Giving S and A a bath: “Look at her hair Mommy!  Do you like what I did to it? It makes her look like a human!”

February 15th

The girls were playing Anna and Elsa in the backseat of the car while we were driving.  I overheard this conversation…K: “Sorry, my husband is stinky!” S: “That’s ok, mine is too.” K: “Why are they stinky?” S: “Because boys are STINKY! Isn’t Daddy stinky?”

Celebrating

On Thursday we celebrated our end of the school year with a trip to the children’s museum.  I was supposed to call and see if there were any field trips coming but I forgot so when we got there it was CRAZY crowded.  Bug put her hands over her ears at one point and said, “Mommy can we please leave? There’s too many people here!”  She’s definitely a small town girl. :)

They managed to have some fun even with kids swarming around like we were inside an overactive beehive!

There was a new area set up like a campsite.  The girls loved it!

Dress up clothes and musical instruments were strewn all over the stage, but Boo jumped right into the throng and put together an outfit for herself.  Another girl had the yellow Snow White skirt, but she just hunted around till she found this white one.

Noni and I took turns with Peanut in the baby area…the one place that wasn’t crawling with kids.  She found a “Te” and had a grand old time feeding it many little grains of rice.

Noni took the girls to do the craft since that wasn’t as crowded.  They came back with cute little frog hats.

Peanut tried out all the toddler toys.

And after we’d been there for 45 minutes the school group finally left.  They must have been 1st graders because they kept trying to take K with them. :)  The place cleared out to hardly anyone and the employees went around trying to pick everything up (you can see the guy behind them, cleaning up the stage) while the girls finally got to use some of the attractions.

Peanut was released from the toddler area and went exploring.  She walked right up to the snake cage and put her face close to the glass, but then the snake started moving and she backed off in a hurry!  She did get close again after I told her it was ok.

Her favorite thing was the water table.  She LOVED it!

She tried out all the other activities too…or maybe she was just trying out all the different germ flavors: Maraca germs, yum! :{

Good thing the next place she went was the doctor! :)

Back to the water table!  A was soaked by the time we left!  Noni had to stand there with her and keep her from climbing IN!

We got to enjoy over an hour of playing with less than 10 kids in the place.  It was very nice!

Peanut figured out how to climb up and do the slide all by herself.  She was pretty pleased. :)

They set up a picnic for us, and “caught” some fish.

And sampled some more germs.

And Noni made this for them on the Lego wall.

All in all it was a very fun morning celebrating the end of school!
