Peanut decided to try Middle School Volleyball! She wavered back and forth for a while but then decided to go for it. We are proud of her for trying something new! Especially something that doesn't come quite as naturally.
Their first "game" was actually a Jamboree. There are only 4 teams playing this year so they all met at one of the schools and played three games each, playing each team once. To be honest we were terrible! Haha! This was the first game for most of these kids and it definitely showed! But I was so proud of them for getting out there and trying!
The girls kept busy with two of the other little sisters. Here is one of the few times they were sitting still. Most of the time I was trying to keep them from running all over the gym. :P
They played best 2 out of 3 and they lost their first two games pretty quickly.
Peanut is doing overhand serving and she actually made it about 50% of the time this first day!
The fun thing was you could tell things were already starting to click by their third game and they won one of the sets! They actually ended in a tie because we won one and they won one, but they didn't play the tie game for some reason.
By this third game Peanut was doing some great serves!
And some good saves!
Their first actual game was at home and they played SO much better than the Jamboree! It was fun to watch such marked improvement so quickly!

And they even completed two bump-set-spike combinations with Peanut doing the spike on the second one!
I'm so impressed with how much growth we are already seeing! There are only four games so they won't have time to really get going, but I am so glad that Peanut took a risk and tried something new! Way to go Peanut! We are proud of you!
