Disney On Ice!

 We got to go to Disney on Ice again! And we got to go with Noni, Auntie Nae, and Cousin K! 

 

 

I thought I gave us plenty of time, but we found our seats with three minutes to spare and they were already doing the welcome stuff. The theme was "Let's Dance" so they had a DJ girl who was working the crowd before it started. 

 

 

I love this tradition! 

 

 

Time for the show! DJ Mickey got the party started! 

 

This was the first year we've ever seen an interruption...after one of the numbers the lights came on and they announced that there would be a short break. They never said what happened and it started up again about five minutes later.  

 

 

 

The girls loved the black lights and were finding all the things we had that glowed. :)

 

The show was AMAZING as usual! They really have it down to a science and all the lights/sounds/costumes/props work together to create a magical experience! There is so much going on I think you could watch the show five times in a row and see something different each time! You want to watch everything, but there's so many things going on all at the same time!  

 

 

These guys were especially impressive...they shimmied up these poles...probably 15 feet in the air, hooked on at the top and then started flinging themselves back and forth! 

 

 At the intermission we got popcorn and Cousin K got cotton candy and shared with the girls. It turned their tongues BRIGHT blue!

 

 

 

The Little Mermaid is not my favorite Disney movie but their routines definitely were. All the bright fun colors look so neat! Pictures don't even come close to capturing how exciting it all feels. Eric and Ariel's routine was also the most impressive because she wasn't wearing ice skates so he had to carry her around the whole time! He was constantly lifting her up over his head and then back down and then up again. He only put her down twice for a few seconds on the platform. Quite impressive.  

 

 

Moana was really neat too! They use lots of base and drum beats and it's so loud you can actually feel your heart thumping with the hits...like it feels when you're really close to loud fireworks! 

 

 

The Lion King was really fun too with all the animal costumes! 

 

 

 

They did a fabulous job and we all loved it! Bravo! 

 

 

We went out to lunch afterwards and enjoyed hanging out for a little while before heading home. We can't wait for next year's show!
