I haven't done one of these in a long time! Things are a different now that Bug is in school, so it's a good time for an update. This particular morning started extra early. :P
6:00AM - Power goes out just long enough to wake me up. Fall back asleep.
6:30AM - T's alarm goes off. He goes upstairs to wake up Bug, comes back down for his shower. We don't yet have a door to close between our bathroom and bedroom so the sound of the water hitting the tile always wakes me up, if the alarm didn't.
7:00AM - My alarm goes off. Get up, make the bed, open all the curtains and head to the kitchen to make sure Bug is packing her lunch, and is getting something for breakfast.
7:06AM - Get a text from a friend that says she got a weird Facebook message from me. Fix Bug's hair.
7:18AM - Say goodbye to T and Bug, and then get on Facebook to change my password and tell everyone not to click on anything from me.
7:20AM - Get tennis shoes on and head to the treadmill to listen to my Bible Recap reading (Acts 7-8 today) and then listen to the corresponding podcast.
7:45AM - Finished with Bible reading. Open Instagram to watch some stories.
7:48AM - Hear Lou through the monitor, "Ma-ma, Ma-ma, Ma-ma!" Head upstairs.
7:50AM - Go into Lou's room. Open curtains, turn off fan...realize noise machine/night light didn't come back on after power outtage. She is not her usual happy self. "What's the matter?" Her: "I scared! Too dark!" Me: "Ohh, the power went out and your night light didn't come back on." She is still not happy so we sing and rock for a while.
8:00AM - She sees her turkey hat that she made at Awana. "My turkey hat! Quack-a-doo!" She puts it on. Take her to the bathroom...paper feathers keep getting in my face, head downstairs.
8:05AM - "Let's have waffles! I wanna help stir!" Get all the ingredients out for waffles. Start dumping things into the bowl so she can stir. She wants to put the ground flax seed in and accidentally drops the spoon into the batter. "Saw-wee! Saw-wee! I fish it out and we keep "making". We finish mixing and she says, "Done!" and shoves the bowl closer to the waffle maker. When she shoves it a 1/2 cup of batter sloshes over the side and all over the counter. "Oopsie! I really saw-wee!!!" Me: "It's ok, let's clean it up. Let's not shove the bowl again."
8:10AM - Start pouring batter...I have a bad habit of pouring too much and it always spills down the side so I make just as much of a mess as she does. :P Cut up strawberries for some waffles, put peanut butter on others. All strawberries for Lou, 1/2 and 1/2 for Peanut and Peaches, all peanut butter for Boo and me. Finally all made...six trips back and forth to get plates, forks, waters, and vitamins on the table.
8:30AM - Call Boo, and sit down for breakfast. Peanut is still sleeping. The rest of us chat while Jax paces around waiting for something to drop. Boo keeps trying to get him to lay down under the table.
8:50AM - Finish breakfast and clear the dishes. Wipe down the table. Little ones get out Play Doh and start playing while I sit down at the computer to type this. :)
9:20AM - Peanut comes downstairs...I cannot figure out how to get that girl to go to bed on time! She is always IN bed at a good time, but she is a night-owl and does not go to sleep for a good hour after we say goodnight. : /
9:35AM - Get up to tell Peanut to finish up and get started on her schoolwork. See Lou wiping up water with a kitchen towel. Realize she has knocked over my water bottle and it's still streaming out of the straw and onto the table, chair, and floor. Get a bigger towel and help her clean it up. Jax is helping out by licking up some of the water. Start a load of towels, head to the bathroom to finally brush my teeth and put my contacts in.
9:50AM - Help Peanut with a Spelling review.
9:59AM - Peanut gets on a class connect. Help little ones pick up the Play Doh.
10:05AM - Head to the basement with the little ones. Get them started on playing trains. Get back on the treadmill to finish my three miles for the day. Walk while fielding 1,000 questions and helping keep the peace in train town. Lou is still grumpy from her morning upset. :P
10:40AM - Finished three miles. Hop off and pull up my 12 minute daily workout on my phone. Lou and Peaches attempt to do the moves as well...when they get tired of that they jump around and over me and chase the cat around. :P
10:50AM - Head upstairs. Grab a quick shower. (So nice that they are old enough for me to take a ten minute shower without having to worry about anyone dying! Haha.) Get dressed, do hair and makeup.
11:20AM - Pull out Peaches school stuff and do her phonics, reading practice, and workbooks.
11:55AM - Head to the kitchen to start making lunch. Peanut wants Chef salads...happy to oblige anytime someone want a salad...get to the kitchen to realize I need to go grocery shopping, no spinach and about four pieces of lettuce. So Peanut will get a salad and the rest get leftovers.
12:10PM - Have lunch. I have to stay seated until Peaches and Lou are completely finished. If I get up for any reason Peaches and Lou are done. Even if they have half their lunch left. So I have to stay glued to my seat until they are finished eating. :P Then I can clean up lunch.
12:30PM - Bathtime! I have discovered that after lunch and before nap is the best time to give Peaches and Lou their bath. We are so busy in the evenings we don't have time to do it. Every now and then Lou will wet through her Pullup at night and have to have a before breakfast bath, but for the most part a mid-morning bath is what works best for us right now...and it keeps them busy for a solid hour! They love to play in the bath, and have gotten a lot better about not splashing too much. I love to listen to their giggles and funny conversations while they take a bath.
1:30PM - Get them out and dressed, read books in front of the heater while their hair dries.
2:00PM - Lights out for Lou's nap. Peaches goes off to play. I head to Peanut's work station to do Science and Health with her.
2:35PM - Head to Boo's computer to do health with her.
2:50PM - Ask Peanut and Peaches to have some quiet time in their rooms. Boo finishes up her schoolwork. Sit down and read my book for a few minutes.
3:15PM - Make a snack for the girls, and tidy up the kitchen. Put the towels in the dryer.
3:30PM - Bug gets home from school. Talk about her day, give the others their snack.
3:45PM - Everyone heads to do their chores.
4:00PM - Computer time for all. Lou wakes up, give her the snack and let her watch Cocomelon. Make a "picnic" dinner for the girls.
5:00PM - Computer time done. Get everyone ready to go.
5:15PM - Head to church for worship team.
5:30PM- Dinner for the girls while we start practice.
5:45PM - Girls run off to play with their friends while we practice our set. Minimal interruptions thanks to Peanut and Boo. They watch our littles, and three others during worship team for me, and are awesome at keeping them occupied. They even clean up after, so I've started paying them for babysitting services. :)
7:10PM - Head home.
7:20PM - Home. Say hi to Daddy and attempt to tidy our always messy mudroom.
7:40PM - Time to get ready for bed. Help Lou and Peaches get their teeth brushed and flossed after they put on their pajamas.
7:50PM - Books, devotions, prayers. Lou sits for a while, gets up, jumps on the couches, comes back to sit, gets back up...and on and on. We are working on at least sitting still while doing the devotion and prayer. :P
8:15PM - Start making the rounds to each bedroom to say goodnight.
8:30PM - Lights out head downstairs. Fold the load of towels from earlier in the day and put away. Unpack the leftovers from the picnic dinner and put everything away. Put straggling dishes in the dishwasher and start it.
9:00PM Head to bed. T works at the computer while I scroll Facebook.
9:30PM - We start our show...currently watching Star Trek: Next Generation. Who knew I would like Star Trek? Haha.
10:15PM - Get ready for bed, read for a few minutes.
10:30PM - Lights out. Fall right to sleep and get ready to do it all again tomorrow! We have a very blessed and very busy life! :)
