Escape to the Farm

When we first realized the Coronavirus was about to change life as we knew it and T was dealing with tons of stress at work we decided to escape for a visit to the farm. We figured we wouldn't be able to see anyone for weeks...or months. 

We were only there for 22 hours, but it proved to be just the break we needed before we began our quarantine. It was really nice to just get away from the house and, for T, work...even though he did end up having to take a couple of calls. 

It was great to see Grandma and Grandpa and Auntie Nae, and family, sweetly altered their weekend plans to spend time with us too! The girls were so excited to see their cousins! Peaches said just the other day, "K is my best friend! 

Peaches drew this and said, "I'm crying." I still don't really know what she was referring too. Maybe the dentist when she was so nervous and crying but still smiling??

This was the first time Lou was able to walk around and explore on Grandma's house on her own. She's getting so big! Jax came too and had a grand old time sniffing out all the new smells and finding all sorts of good things to eat...more on that later. :P

The big girls did a lot of Lego-ing with cousin W.

We had such a relaxing time visiting, and Grandma made us her delicious orange chicken that we all love!

Lou had more fun with this laundry basket and balls. I guess I need to get her some. Haha.

 

She also had fun playing with baby dolls.

  

And chasing her sister. She was cracking us up with her growling-monster noises. 

She also loved watching the birds! She sat here for a really long time!

And we found the Godfather Robin. Haha!

It was the perfect little break! Apparently we were due some snow...I thought we were just going to get a skiff. When we got home we found several inches and some 3-4ft. drifts. Our upstairs window looked like this.

 

And our upstairs pipes were frozen. :( It took the entire day to get them thawed out.

The reason we couldn't stay longer was because Peanut had a birthday party for one of her best friend. This was back when the ruling was 250 people or less. She was SO excited for this party! It was a "mock sleepover". They took their pajamas and pillows and a sleeping bag and watched a movie and had pizza! My friend sent me these next four pictures of them having fun.

A had SO MUCH fun!!! The only bad part was the 4th member of their little best friends group wasn't able to come because she had gotten sick. Peanut wants to have a tea party when we are able to see people again.  

Peaches took a nap while she was gone and looked so sweet. :)

It was a wonderful last hurrah before quarantine. The only bad thing was that apparently Jax found something delicious at Grandma and Grandpa's and had what T described as a poo-pocalypse that night. He was up from 2-3AM cleaning it up (I didn't even hear him) and then when I woke up the next morning there was more. It was in the cage, on the floor, splattered across the cabinets, and on Jax's tail. Yuck! :{

Thankfully after church T was able to grab some special canned dog food from our friend (and vet) to help with the tummy troubles and there were no more incidences. Lol. But other than that it was an awesome weekend!
