Party Time!

Ok, I think these pictures are a little out of order because we did presents first, but that's ok. 

We put Lou in her highchair for the smash cake and she promptly started crying. Poor thing caught Peaches' cold and it really hit hard right that day. Her eyes were watering like crazy and her nose was dripping. She was miserable. 

But I think she was mostly crying because she was hungry and wanted her dinner and all we were doing was singing to her and not giving her food. Haha.

 

You can see the puffy red eyes. :( 

I made her an homemade,no sugar added, birthday cake. The cake was like banana bread with no sugar and the "frosting" was just whipped cream. Literally...heavy cream that I whipped until it thickened into a spreadable texture. She loved the cream! The cake not so much. :)

We grabbed a family picture while she was contained. :)

And then let her get after it!

Big bite! Haha.

 

 

 She ended up licking up every bit of cream that she could and then trying to toss the cake overboard. :) 

Okay, to presents...

 

The girls showed her how to get them open and she quickly caught on! She loved tearing the paper! 

 

 

 She got a sweet polar bear outfit from Mama including a super warm white coat! 

She knew exactly what to do with the cards and opened them up herself and "read" them. :)

Aunt J and Uncle K got her a fun "learning" purse with pretend keys, cell phone, etc. Peaches thought it was awesome, and it's a good thing Lou is too little to notice/care that her sister was taking and playing with her new toys. :)

Daddy and Grandpa started a good fire since they were cold from being out on the frozen roof. It made it very cozy!

I made her an ABC photo book.

Which Peaches quickly took as well. :P

We're going to put the birthday money into her college fund...we should be able to get away with that for a couple years. ;)

 

It was the perfect, sweet, little celebration for a one year old!
