Work-cation! - Part 2

Once we got to our second location we hit Walmart for groceries and then went to check into our hotel...which wasn't ready per the usual. They guarantee a 4:00PM check in, but I don't think we've ever been able to check in before 5:30. :P 

 

Thankfully they at least let us put our groceries in the fridge in our room. I took the little ones for a walk while we waited. We brought their scooters and they loved zipping down the path. Next year I'll have to bring my running shoes as well because they are fast! They would get ahead, turn around and come racing back to me, and then go off again.

 

 

 

The room still wasn't ready before dinner so we had to go as we were. I guess I could have tried to fix the fuzzy swim hair. Haha. We hadn't been to this place before but it was very nice. Peanut and Lou played chess on Daddy's phone.

 

 

Daddy and Peaches played a round of Ultimate Tic Tac Toe. If you haven't played it before it's pretty fun! 

 

 

After dinner we finally got to check in and got our rooms all settled. We had an awesome unit this year with two bedrooms! Then we headed over for the conference's kick off event, the ice cream social. I had to stop and take some pictures of my favorite part of this town...the flowers!

We had an amazing view from our room! 

 

 

 

And it was so nice that the little ones had their own bedroom. 

 

 

Peaches stayed in the living room on the hide-a-bed. 

 

 

I honestly wasn't looking forward to this trip because last year was not very fun, but we ended up having an amazing time! The slide and hot tub were working this year, and while the water in the pool was super cold, it wasn't absolutely freezing like last year and they were able to swim in it! 

 

The only bad thing was that I forgot Lou's life jacket, but we bought her a floaty and I just had to keep a little closer eye on her when she was in the deep end.  

 

 

She loved the slide! 

 

 

I lost count of how many times they went down. 

 

 

Swim, slide, hot tub, repeat! 

 

 

We let all three of them choose a floaty at Walmart. This is the one Peaches picked. 

 

 

And Peanut's. 

 

 

Lou is so full of energy and joy! I love watching her face.

Work-cation! - Part 1

T's usual June work conference got an upgrade this year! Another group piggy backed off of the usual conference and all the CEO's were invited to a different location for the weekend before. So instead of leaving on Sunday like we usually do we left Friday after VBS. That also meant that Bug and Boo were able to come with us for the first time in years. 

We stopped at a gas station on the little road trip up there and I didn't have a pocket so Boo took my phone and I later found about 20 pictures on it. :P Here are two. 

 

 

Haha. 

 

 

 We all stayed in one hotel room so the younger three had to sleep on the floor but it wasn't too bad.  

It was only in the 70's and really overcast that Saturday, but thankfully the pool was really warm so Peaches and Lou ended up spending 6 hours in it! I read almost an entire book and enjoyed just sitting by the pool after a crazy week of being on my feet at VBS.

 

 

 

Daddy did a round of golf that morning that ended up taking about 5 hours. We ran over to McDonald's for breakfast and brought Subway back to the hotel fridge to eat later for lunch. 

 

He was supposed to do another round of golf that afternoon but he was tired so he came and sat by the pool for a bit. He also roused the big girls out of the hotel room where they had been sitting all day.  

 

 

The resort was high up on a hill so there was a beautiful view of the Valley below.  

 

 

These two played so hard all day! 

 

 

And had so much fun! 

 

 

There were many rounds of incorrectly played Marco Polo. Haha. 

 

 

 

 

 

A couple other kids joined them later in the day and they quickly made friends. 

 

 

There was a a putting green right outside our room. 

 

 

Daddy got the big girls to play a round. 

 

 

 

And that night there was an amazing dinner for us. 

 

 

 

Then there was a Putt Putt Glow Golf party but I did not want to start off our vacation with cranky little ones so I put them to bed. They went right to sleep after their busy day of swimming. I looked over and Peaches looked so sweet that I took a picture of her.  

 

 

Then I looked down and saw Lou. Lol! 

 

 

Meanwhile Daddy and the big three were at the party.  

 

 

 

Haha. 

 They brought back all the glow stuff and left it for the little ones to find in the morning. Lou woke up SO happy to see it all and was cracking me up because everyone was still asleep so she was doing this silent dance for like 20 minutes.

 

 

 

 

Then Peaches woke up and joined in.  
 

 

 

Daddy had left early that morning for another round of golf and Bug and Boo got up and left as well. They went to church with F's family and then headed to Noni's where Bug stayed the rest of the week because she was doing her Practicals and had to leave at 5 every morning. Noni took Boo to meet the bus on Monday and she spent the week at camp for her staff training.  

The rest of us packed up and checked out and then enjoyed another few hours at the pool. 

 

 

 

 

Then we got on the road and drove to our second location...pictures from that tomorrow! 

Funny Friday

 This was totally T and Peanut the other day when they were trying to deworm the kittens. They came back with scratches and puncture wounds. :{

Leftover Thursday

 We are loving our fire pit! The girls would happily roast marshmallows every night. :) 

 

 

Boo and Peanut like to serenade us with the guitar or ukulele.  

 

 

T put all the extra piles of dirt on the other side of the shop right before the graduation and I hadn't seen it. When I went over there I was surprised and commented that it looked like war trenches so Boo and Peanut instantly went into goofy acting mode...

 

 

They crack me up!

They made houses for them in Lou's room. :) 

 

 

It was Dodo's birthday so they had a birthday party. Grandma was fortunate to be there for the happy event, haha.  

 

 

Peanut made the cake...so cute!!
