Leftover Thursday

I don't think I included this picture in the VBS decorating. Peanut helped me build the balloon arch. 

 

  

She made this chalk drawing at home. I thought it was great!

 

 

I did a little first day of summer celebration with new chalk and sandals for everyone.

 

 

We finally got the Lego portrait hung up! Uncle A and Auntie K had bought us this for Christmas and T made a nice frame for it!

 

 

I had to take a picture of the difference when I was power washing the patio. The tree spits sap so combined with the dust from the fields around us it makes quite the mess.

Lake-cation! - Part 3

 One of the reason the girls love coming here is because I buy food I normally wouldn't like Eggos and Scooby snacks. :) Peaches told me her plate looked like a commercial and asked for my phone to take a picture. :)

 

 

This day didn't go quite as well as the previous because when we got to the pool we saw a sign that the hot tub was closed for maintenance. :( The girls tried to swim but it was so cold they only lasted an hour before they were all out of the pool laying on the concrete deck, trying to get warm, but shivering in the sun. So we went ahead and ate an early lunch and did some more shopping. Then we got ice cream on the way back.

 

 

One of the things I love best about this little town is that you can walk almost anywhere. 

 

 

After lunch we tried the pool again, but the girls ended up swimming in the lake! Pretty bad when a glacier-fed lake is about the same temperature as the pool! They thought it was great though. 

 

 

They tried to swim a little, but it was definitely not like last year where they spent hours swimming and I couldn't drag them away.

 

 

Daddy finished early and came down to the pool. I think he lasted about 5 minutes before giving up. That water was seriously cold. Oh and part of the other bummer for this year was that they slide was closed! They had been looking forward to it for weeks, but it had an out of order sign on it. :(

 

 

We let the girls watch some TV back in the room before heading out for dinner.

 

 

We went to a BBQ with all the other conferees on the lawn.

 

 

After dinner I took the girls back to the park and Peanut asked if she could recreate this picture of Bug and Boo.

 

She got them positioned just right. :)

 

 

Lou always wants me to push her on the swings. Peanut must have taken this picture.

 

 

We saw this beautiful rose on the way back. I don't think I have ever seen any one like it. The roses on the bush were either pink or peach, as you can see in the background, but this one started as pink and then did a beautiful ombre fade into peach. So pretty!

 

 

Our last morning we checked to see if the hot tub was still closed and it was so we didn't even bother to get their suits on. We just relaxed and played some games before packing up and checking out of the room. Then we did some more shopping until Daddy was finished with his sessions. We hit the local hamburger stand...

 

 

And then headed out!

 

 

Hopefully next year we can be over at the main resort again...or find a pool heater to bring with us. Haha. We still had a great time and were happy we got to go! 

Lake-cation! - Part 2

 The girls and I had lunchables on the balcony and enjoyed the view. It wasn't crazy hot this year so I wasn't as worried about them getting too much sun like I usually am.

 

 

I met T halfway across the bridge with a Pepsi during his lunch break because they only had coke at his luncheon. The girls were waving to us from our room, second from the left in the middle.

 

 

We took our lunch leftovers down to feed the ducks.

 

 

 

And then it was back to the pool...or hot tub...for a couple more hours.

 

 

They would stay in the hot tub for a while and then go jump in the pool to cool off again.

 I let them jump in if there was no one in the hot tub. Lou can jump high!

 

 

We saw a mama with baby ducks on our way back to the room. :)

 

 

We met Daddy back at the room and got ready to go out to dinner, but first we had time for a little shopping at the toy store. They got this cute new ice cream bench.

 

 

We went out to a nice dinner with Daddy's board of commissioners and the girls did beautifully. It's always a little stressful to take them to dinner with the "bosses" but they did a great job minding their manners. They talked politely with everyone and even drew each person a picture to take home.

On the way back to the resort we stopped at the park for our annual pictures. Peanut is getting tall too!

 

 

We stayed to play for a few minutes.

Our last stop was frozen yogurt before heading back for bed.

Lake-cation!

 The girls were so excited when it was finally time to head to Daddy's annual conference at the lake resort! Bug was in Africa and Boo had staff training so she stayed with Noni until she had to leave for that. They only gave us a one bedroom, but Peanut was excited to find a Murphey bed in the living room. She and Lou slept on that and Peaches slept on the hide-a-bed.

 

 

 We got our groceries, got unpacked, and headed out to find some dinner. The girls voted for pizza.

 

 

Then we walked back to the other resort for the ice cream social that was part of the conference. I always love all the beautiful flowers everywhere!

 

 

 

We were still wearing our VBS shirts from church that morning.

We had to stay across the lake this time because the main resort didn't have enough rooms, but we had a beautiful view!

 

 

We ate all our meals on the balcony.

 

 

I forgot that the pool at this place is always cold and this year it was FREEZING! If you can zoom in on Peanut's face you can see her funny expression.

 

 

This girl is getting so tall and leggy all of the sudden!

And these ones are even better.

 

 

They were definitely braver than I was though! No way I was going in that cold pool!

 

 

The fish were very active this year. This is right over the railing from the pool.

 

 

And here are our little fishies.

 

 

They didn't last long in the pool because it was so cold, but they spent a lot time in the hot tub. Thankfully it's kept at a pretty low temp for a hot tub so they could stay in for 20-30 minutes at a time.
