The Big Event

 For the last youth group of the school year (they take a break in summer) they had a big event at a local fun park. I think there ended up being 35 kids that went! We went as chaperones so we dropped the little ones off at Noni's and let Boo and Peanut both bring a friend. 

The first thing they wanted to do was laser tag!

 

 

Then it was on to Go Kart racing. 

 

 

 

Peanut was super disappointed to find that she was about an inch too short to drive her own car so I drove and she rode shotgun.

 

 Boo drove her own car.

 Then it was a time out for pizza!

 

 

We didn't get there very early so we actually only ended up with about two and a half hours there...most of the people headed home but after another round of laser tag we ran downstairs to play glow golf before leaving. It was a full 18 holes so it took longer than we anticipated, but we had a lot of fun! 

 

 

Each hole had something funny you had to do. Like "Play this hole using two clubs." Some others were: singing Christmas carols, with your club upside down, using two clubs, with your eyes closed, standing on one foot, etc. Bug did each one except let your ball roll off your nose and into the hole...that one we discouraged. It did not exactly seem sanitized down there. :P

 

 

T and I played between the two groups of kids and actually got several hole in ones! One of them at the exact same time!

 

 

Since we ended up leaving much later than planned we rearranged seating and I took a car full of kids back while Daddy headed to pick up the little ones. 

 

 

We didn't end up making it back until 9pm, but it was worth it for all the fun that was had!!

Party Time!

 We were finally able to have Buggy's Covid-postponed birthday party a few weeks after her actual birthday. It was worth the wait though! The kids had so much fun! We spent three hours at a trampoline park with some of her closest friends. 

I think Lou had the most fun though. Haha.

This was a new addition since the last time we'd been. 

 

 

And so was this swing! Really fun!

 

 

We've only ever been for two hours, but I found a coupon for buy two hours get one free. I didn't know if they would get tired or bored of jumping for that long, but they definitely didn't! They jumped right up until we made them get off!

 

Noni came with us and showed the little ones how to build a block wall and then burst through it into the pit.

 

  

 

So  much fun!

So many of my pictures were blurry but full of joy! 

 

 

We tried to keep masks on the kids, but after an hour or so most everyone took them off and the workers didn't ask them to put them back on. Lou always wants her on, "I need my mack!" as she calls it. But then she just chews on it for a while and then hands it to me all wet. :P

 

 

We are so thankful for these sweet friends! They are all homeschooled so we were able to go during school hours and cut down on the crowds.

 

 

Lou missed her nap and then fell asleep literally ten minutes from home. She popped right awake when we pulled in, but was pretty crabby.

 

 

The rest of the night was not much better! She's still a little too young to be able to skip naps.

 

 

I asked Bug to smile for me so I could get a picture of her new necklace from N. You can't really see it here but it has a K on it. 

 

 

Such a fun day celebrating our beautiful girl!!

Mother's Day Tea

 Ms J had planned a Mother's Day tea at preschool and sweetly postponed it until Peaches could come back to school after quarantine. Unfortunately the day it was rescheduled for was the day we were in Seattle with Bug. The week before when I told Peaches that I wouldn't be able to make it she was SO sad she cried for literally 15 minutes straight. She was inconsolable. We finally got it under control but any time she thought about it in the next 24 hours she would burst into tears all over again. 

 Since Ms. J had already gone to the trouble to reschedule I asked her if I could contact everyone about it. Several dozen texts later with 5 other gracious moms and we were able to move it to the Thursday after we got back. I realized the next day that would also be the day after I got my second dose of Covid vaccine and I would likely be sick, but I told myself I would go if I had to drag myself there. Haha. Thankfully I was not too bad and was able to enjoy it! I did end up feeling pretty bad later in the day so I was very thankful that I had been doing well at the time.

Look at this beautiful girl! So grown up!

 

 

They sang You Are My Sunshine to us..so sweet! They changed out "Dear" for Mom. That was part of what Peaches had been so sad about. I had originally told her that Noni could go in my place, and she sobbed out "But my song says Mommy and if I say Noni I will mess it all up!"  

They were so cute! 

 

 Then we all got to have tea, muffins, strawberries, and cinnamon rolls.

 

 

 

Peaches was sooo happy that I had come so it was definitely worth all the trouble. :)

 

 

She sure is going to miss preschool! She has loved every minute of it!

 

 

When I went back later to pick her up I brought Queso for show and tell. She proudly showed him to her friends and let each one have a turn holding him. 

 

 

It was a sweet day. :)
