Games

 For some reason Peanut is AWESOME at Connect Four. She can beat all of us, multiple times in a row. I guess she just has really good spacial recognition or something because she is the reigning champion for sure!

 

 

Lou came up with this new game of flip in and out of her pack and play. :P

 

 

We have been playing Settlers of Catan like crazy! Any time we have a free hour in the evening we grab the box...usually accompanied by hot cocoa or dessert. :)

 

 

The girls and I even play in the afternoon if we have time. Bug was taking pictures one day. This would have been a sweet hug...if she hadn't been trying to smother me with the little tissue packets she found. :P

 

 

Peanut is getting much better at strategy as we've been playing and has even won several times out of the whole family!

 

 

It really is a fun game!

Leftover Thursday

 The little ones and I made brownies one night when everyone else was at AWANA.

 

 

And then they ate them in the bath because it's much easier to clean up afterwards. Haha.

 

 

Peanut and I were driving the other day and saw these strange clouds. It's hard to see but they looked like dozens of tiny tornadoes lined up in the sky.

 

 

We FINALLY have a Chik-Fil-A!  It's still far away from our house but when we go to the orthodontist we will be able to get it now. T took Boo to her ortho appointment one early morning and brought us home chicken nuggets for lunch. We were very excited!

 

 

And we discovered that you can buy these little sauces! I LOVE their sauce so it's been fun putting it on other stuff as well! I'm already looking forward to the next ortho appointment. Haha.

 

 

This was the day we first tested cheese for Peaches. She was SO excited because she loves cheese!

 

 

And it didn't hurt her tummy a single bit! Miraculous healing.

 

 

Lou came crying to me one day. I asked what happened and she said, "I bite!" Sure enough she had a marks on her arm with the tell-tale missing front tooth. :P Hopefully she learned her lesson, but probably not.

 I am so behind on videos, but super excited because I figured out I can upload them straight from my phone to YouTube now and bypass the incredibly frustrating task of getting them off my phone and onto the computer. Whooo hoooo! Haha. So be prepared for lots more videos! Here are a few from recent weeks.

I love how she says, "Watch Ma-ma!" 

Lou has discovered that she can climb in and out of her bed. :( And also bounce in it. Thankfully she doesn't climb out at night.

Awana night is the only two hours of the week I am away from her, and apparently it is just too much to ask. Daddy got this video of her after I left one week. She was so sad she just wanted to go to bed.

Here she is "reading" to Queso. Poor cat.

Rube Goldberg

Bug had to do a Rube Goldberg project for Science so of course she enlisted Grandpa, our very own Rube Goldberg, to help her. She had to decide on an action so she chose to make a cupcake sprinkle shaker. Grandpa used his old rector set to build the holder and mechanism for the sprinkles, and she designed a course which Daddy helped her build

Here is her design...the pictures should have gone side by side but I couldn't get it all in the photo. It was a pretty clever design! It had to last at least 10 seconds and I think it ended up at 15.

It's hard to tell from the pictures but it started with Peaches' little toy train pulling a Lego out of the way...

 

 which caused a golf ball to roll down a ramp on the mantle, into a cup. 

 

Which caused another golf ball to roll down a train track on the shelf and bump into a marble which went rolling through a tube that crossed the divide between the shelf and the dining table.

 

And when it got to the other end it came flying out and landed on a mouse trap which jerked a string attached to a rolling pin, which then rocked back, hitting some blocks, which knocked a pair of wire cutters off the table...

 

 

 

That were attached to a string/pulley that turned the handle of Grandpa's mechanism and caused the sprinkle shaker to go back and forth three times.

It only took a couple of tries to get it to work! In the successful run the first golf ball actually missed the cup but still managed to knock the other golf ball on the correct path.

Kitty Love

 Lou is still lovin' the poor kitty way too much! I don't know why he sticks around because he can easily out run her. She catches him all the time and then drags him around calling him her "kitty baby".

 

 

He is a super chill cat and hardly ever scratches her even when she is hauling him around by the fur. He treats her like a mama cat. Whenever she grabs his fur to pick him up he just tucks himself in and is very still, like a newborn kitten being carried in it's mama's mouth.

She really wanted to put him in this baby carrier one day.

And after a lot of pushing and stuffing actually managed to get him in. :P

 

 

 

And he just continues to come back so I guess he doesn't hate it.

 

 

 

Maybe he likes being her "kitty baby". She does sweetly sing to him and rock him, in between fur grabbing and stuffing him into things.
