This has been a whirlwind soccer season! I like that it is only 5 weeks because we pretty much give up our entire Saturday by the time we drive and sit for three games, but at the same time it seems like they are just starting to get the hang of it and then it's over.
They offer the same 5 (7 when you include two weeks of practice beforehand) week session of soccer in the Fall, but Fall is always a super crazy time of trying to get back into school, dance, and AWANA. The best thing about Spring Soccer is that dance is over so there is no trying to skip one thing to practice for the other. And the girls are really enjoying Soccer even though it's only for a few short weeks. It's a lot faster paced than Softball.
Indeed they are usually huffing and puffing by the time the games are over. We have a lot smaller teams than the others since we come from a smaller town. Almost every team we play has two teams worth of girls so they can sub the entire field at one time. We are lucky if we have one or two subs. Buggy's team has none so if even one girl is gone they are playing with one missing. It's pretty much just a solid hour of running.

No idea why Peaches is so grumpy looking in this picture. Haha. She actually did really well at this game and sat with me on the blanket the whole time coloring and eating Cheerios.
This is a "developmental" league so lots of the girls are beginners, but there are definitely some really good ones who have been playing for years. Sometimes we'll get a whole team of those and get creamed, but for the most part it evens out.
They definitely have had to learn to get aggressive and go after that ball!
It's been fun to watch Boo this year as she's playing on the bigger field with 8 players instead of 6 like last year.
Peanut's first year has been great! She has an awesome Coach who is really good with the kids!
Most of the time the little oens run around in a big clump, but they are learning each and every game! :)

They are supposed to be divided into teams by birth year, but somehow it seems like every game there are one or two players that are more than a head taller than Peanut!

P.S. I'll post pics for K next week. This day I'd taken S&A to their games with my nice camera while Daddy took Bug to her game. She had an 8am the day after her birthday. Then on his way home Noni met them and took K so that he and Grandpa could go pour concrete. Noni took Bug back to her 11am soccer game (she had two that day) and then met up with me. I had taken Boo to her 9am game and then we did some errands and got lunch before Peanut's 12:30 game. Noni brought Bug to me and traded me for Peaches who went home with her to take a nap. Then after Peanut's game we headed back to Noni's to pick up Peaches. These are the crazy Saturdays I'm glad don't last too long. Haha. And all that to say that I took the nice camera to Bug's game this past Saturday so I'll post pictures of her next week. Whew.
