Haircuts!

Last week the girls and I went down to the salon and got all of our haircut. Buggy was up first. Here’s her before…

And after…just a little trim.

Boo’s hair had really grown since her last cut in late October.

I think it is SO cute when it sits just above her shoulders.

See?! :)

This was Peanut’s very first haircut. I was a little hesitant to get it cut since it is just now getting long enough to do stuff with, but it was that scraggly, baby, wispy hair and I wanted a nice clean look.

She sat perfectly still like a big girl!

And after! Perfect! It’s exactly what I wanted. Not too much off, but nice and clean looking.

We’re all freshly cut and ready for summer!

Airport Tour

The other day one of the homeschool moms set up a field trip to tour the airport! Yes, we have a little airport in our small town. :) It’s for recreational use and for the crop dusters.

We got to sit down and hear all about flying rules and regulations for small planes, and then we got to see how the airplane worked. I think he said this was a restored plane built in 56’(?)…somewhere in there. It was really neat!

The kids were very interested and did a good job paying attention.

One of the boys got to go inside the cockpit and work the controls while the others stood outside to watch what happened on the plane when he pushed certain levers and such.

The little ones did get a little bored, but they happily played with the rocks in the shade of the wing. :)

Then we got to see the guy’s Ultralite. It is basically a seat (or two, like this one) strapped to a hang glider with a snow mobile engine attached! And he told us he has taken this thing up to 13,000 feet! Yikes!

He also told us his favorite thing to do is go out and find dust devils and let himself get spun around in them. Sounds like a good way to get air-sick. Haha :)

Once he gets up as high as he wants to go he shuts off the engine and just glides around. He said the longest he’s stayed up without turning the engine back on was five hours!

We ended the tour with him doing fly bys in his little plane. Very cool! The kids loved it!

Saturday

Lately we’ve actually had quite a few Saturdays with little to no commitments! When this happens T happily “putts” (as he calls it) in the garage. And when he does that Peanut loves to be “Daddy’s hep-er!”

She hands him things, and he patiently finds things for her to do. So sweet.

We love lazy Saturdays!

Baseball

Baseball is officially over! We had a fun season this year!

It was definitely a challenge to move up to coach pitch as opposed to T-ball . We also had a very young team. The possible ages are 6-10 I believe and we lots of kindergarteners and only had three older kids; two of which had hardly any experience.

Keeping score was also a new thing for us. In T-Ball nobody counts the score or does outs, but this was just like regular baseball. The kids were very aware of that fact and were constantly asking me what the score was.

We only won one game, but the kids played hard and did their best and I think they had fun too! I know I had fun sitting in the dugout with them (keeping stats) and hearing their funny conversations. :) And it’s always fun watching Buggy play!

Up to bat!

Some of the teams had the rule where you get 7 pitches, and others were 3 strikes and you’re out. At those games we had a lot of strike outs, but Buggy did have some great hits this season and scored several times!
