Paint

Our basement is coming along nicely! We’ve been working on it every spare minute and it’s nearly done! The carpet has been ordered and we are busy putting the finishing touches on before it arrives.

T and I went to Lowe’s on a date day to pick out carpet and paint and we were in and out of there in under fifteen minutes! We walked in, and up to the paint section…I quickly grabbed a couple of swatches and he pointed to the one he liked best.

We gave it to the paint desk and headed over to carpet where we walked right up and said, “This one looks nice.” We discussed three of the different color options and settled on one in under two minutes!

We weren’t in a hurry, it’s just that after remodeling our ENTIRE house we have already worked out which styles/colors the other prefers, what our compromises are, and what works best for us. The first time we picked out carpet it took hours of searching, and multiple stores. It’s nice that we don’t have to do that anymore!

The girls were dying to help us paint and I knew they wouldn’t let it rest if I denied them so they all got paint clothes on and I let them help me with the corners…or in Peanut’s case wherever she happened to be standing. :)

And yes it was as messy and spill-y as you might imagine. We ended the night with a bath and tears as I tried to scrape paint out of hair. K still had paint in her hair over a week (and many showers) later. But they had fun, and “Hep-ed!”

Show and Tell

For Boo’s show and tell for “K” week she was very excited to bring her sister! It was really sweet how proud she was, and K brought her Koala as well. :)

Peanut loved their little classroom and was excited by all the colorful pictures and toys.

These are two girls from our church and they love little Peanut. They really wanted me to take a picture of them with her. :)

We went right at the end so the girls got to hear the last story of the day. Peanut had a great time! I think she’ll be excited when it’s her turn to go!

Pottery

We were missing Aunt Karen, Uncle Sean, Aunt Jen and Daddy, but we went ahead and had a pottery day and had a lot of fun!

The girls did awesome! It was their best year yet! I was especially impressed with Peanut’s focus. She sat there for nearly an hour and half painting coat after coat on a single little leaf ornament!

Mama painted a beautiful cross but I didn’t get an “after” picture.

We had to get our Sonic before painting. :) We did this the Monday after Christmas week and apparently that was the perfect time to go because we had the place to ourselves the entire time! It was nice not to have to worry about the kids being too loud or disturbing other patrons.

All the girls did great! Boo meticulously painted this little cupcake dish. Noni helped her smooth it out a little, but she worked hard on it and it turned out great!

Peanut had very definite ideas about what she wanted. She would tell me which color she wanted, and which spot she wanted it on, and then she would paint until it was gone, asking for another color.

Bug painted a little penguin and did a lot of cute details like a polka dot scarf and little bow in the hair. :)

Noni did some little ceramic numbers to put in birthday cakes.

Cheese! After she was done painting she happily sat and watched Curious George on my tablet until the rest of us were finished.

And the finished product! Way to go girls!

And here is mine. I did Peanut’s handprint and made little snow family. Her thumb kind of went off so it only ended being a four-man family. :)

Wordless Wednesday

2nd Christmas!

We didn’t want to haul Christmas presents back and forth so other than the weight bench (which I shipped to Grandma and Grandpa so T wouldn’t guess his present!) we left all our presents to each other (and a few others) at home.

We had a 2nd Christmas after putting away the inflatables.

Bug had really wanted to get this (too expensive for her budget) shopping cart full of food for her sister so I told her she could combine their present and get them a small thing each.

This is one of the things they ask for every time we go to Target so it was a big hit!

Boo was so proud to give us this adorable frame and picture that she made at preschool for us.

The girls were so sweet when opening their presents from each other. Boo got Bug a Barbie, a little girl Barbie, and an outfit.

And they had cards from Pawpaw and Nana on the tree.

They got Christmas money! Love Bug’s face.

Thank you Pawpaw and Nana!!! We are excited to go shopping!

One of the ladies T works with always gives us presents. She gave K&S necklaces with their names on them, and gave Peanut a Cocoa!

The real Cocoa might have been hoping that stuffed Cocoa would replace her for squeezing. No such luck Cocoa Bean!

Bug had seen this book and kitten in the Scholastic order form and spent her own money to buy the extra present. She insisted Boo would love it! And she was right!

Snowflakes and Dinosaurs

After we left the farm on Saturday we had to stop and grab a few groceries before we could head home. It was snowing big fat flakes, and T was being super silly with the girls teaching them to catch them on their tongues. They loved it of course!

Peanut wasn’t getting any so Daddy helped her out.

Remember how our plan was to buy one inflatable a year?? Yeah, well we got carried away.  When we went to Lowe’s the day after Christmas I found Mickey and Minnie for half off. Peanut LOVES Minnie so we got them.

Then at Walmart T found an inflatable snowman, and an inflatable T-REX!!! I thought it was hilarious! We blew them all up to make sure they worked before packing them away until next year. Rex is definitely my favorite!

We had put Peanut down for her nap so when she got up we showed her. Here’s the video. So cute.
