The Glasses Club

Well I guess we should just form a club!  And if we do we have a new member…

That’s right, our little Boo Bear has to get glasses now too! 

She has always been a squinter and from the time she was little would literally stick her nose in a book proclaiming that she couldn’t see it otherwise.  I just figured it was part of the drama that surrounds our girl-filled house. :)  But the squinting has been getting worse and worse, so I finally decided I’d better take her in to the optometrist that K and I see.

She did a pretty good job sitting up in the big chair and doing what the Doctor asked her to do.  Her little fingers were so cute pointing to the direction of the E’s. :)

She looked so tiny sitting up there, and the doctor had to adjust the machine several times to get it low enough for her.

The Doctor said she was surprised at the severity of astigmatism in someone so young (I have it too), but with the lens machine she was able to read 20/20 so getting glasses will do the trick for her.  She is nearsighted like me, not farsighted like K.

T and I weren’t overly thrilled that she needs glasses, but she is ecstatic!  She has been wanting glasses ever since this time last year when K got hers, and she finally got her wish.  She picked out similar frames with a firework-type pattern on the side.  They should arrive in a week or so.  I’ve told her several times that they have to put the right glass into the lenses, but she keeps telling people that her glasses will come when the people take the tag off.  Haha:)

She does look pretty cute. :)

Wordless Wednesday–CHEESE!

Mess Maker

Peanut is in that oh-so-lovely mess making stage!  She is a pro and can make a mess in 5 unattended seconds flat!

I keep telling the girls that they need to be more careful about what they leave lying around as she can now do things like get marker lids off…

And make some pretty drawings.  Thank goodness for washable!

And I also keep telling them to “SHUT the bathroom door!”

In her defense she was probably just trying to help me clean up the marker mess…

Ugh. I’ll be glad when this phase passes! :)

Disney On Ice

On Saturday we got to go to Disney On Ice!  It was a blast!  Usually it is in late November so we go as an early birthday present to Noni…this year it was just extra early. :)

I think this was my favorite year so far!  My favorite was Ariel which was ironic since she is my least favorite princess.  There were just so many colors and fun sets and Flounder was really cute. :)

Under the Sea was the best.  They had giant jellyfish, dolphins, stingrays, and eel puppets that were on poles and high up in the air, and with the black lights on they looked neon.  It was a really fun and colorful number!

I loved Boo’s expression during all the excitement.  Her big brown eyes were extra WIDE the whole time. :)

Ariel flew up into the air during her “transformation” to human.

“Wapunzel” was Boo’s favorite of course!  She still loves that story best!

The girls got a special treat of cotton candy during intermission. 

Belle was another one of the favorites.  I loved all the fun sets and thought they were especially good this year!

Be Our Guest was a fun number!

The Grand Finale had fireworks and all manner of excitement as usual!

Grandma and Grandpa

The girls had so much fun with Grandma and Grandpa here last week for Halloween.  I didn't get any pictures of Peanut snuggling with Grandma (darn it!) but she did a lot of that!  The second Grandma walked in the door Peanut reached for her and then laid her little head on Grandma's shoulder for about ten minutes.  So sweet!

Grandpa was good for fun of a more rambunctious nature...

They got to stay the night and the next morning Peanut had fun playing with Grandpa while Bug and I did our school work. They had a little jam session.

"Oh! Mommy is taking a picture! I'd better say CHEESE!"
 

"Now show me how this thing works, Grandpa."

"Now you may read to me!  Again!" :)

 After Peanut went down for her nap Grandma and Grandpa took Boo up to the hospital to visit Daddy while Bug and I finished up with her schoolwork. 

We were done by lunch and then it was off to Mexican food before they had to leave.  What a fun visit with Grandma and Grandpa!

Funny Friday

This one is funny in an ironic kind of way.  I thought it was a great illustration.

This made me laugh because T often quotes the bottom phrase.

And T and I have this conversation about every 1 out of 10 times we see a school bus.  I still don’t understand why you don’t need seatbelts on them!

I see this every now and then and it makes me laugh EVERY time!

Same with this one.  Too funny.
