Leftover Thursday

 Lou has to take pictures sometimes on an app called Classkick so her teacher can see that she's doing her work. I usually help her but was trying to make lunch so she did it herself and then thought she was so funny she asked for my phone to take pictures of her pictures, haha.

 

 

I think she thought the first one was funny so then she started hamming it up. :) 

 

 

This one I deleted, haha! 

 

 

She found my hat sitting by my sink and put it on and got a picture of herself. 

 

 

The girls love to have the cats inside, but the more I'm around them the more they bother me. It's so weird to me that a person can develop an allergy in their forties but at this point anytime they are inside my nose turns into a sneezy leaky faucet. I let them take them up to their rooms still, but I can't have them with us while we do school which makes them sad. :(  

 

 

Lou took notes during church the other day and I thought her drawing was so sweet. 

 

 

 

Peaches got two "archeologist" kits for her birthday where there is a brick of clay and they have to excavate the "jewels". The first one was purple and they had splattered purple on the floor, table, and chair when they did it. I now realize that was not very much of a mess, but when they went to do the second one which was tan I asked them to do it in the garage on a piece of cardboard. 

 

T was at work so they did it in his parking spot while I was vacuuming the main floor. It took me 15-20 minutes and then I went out to check on them. I'm still not sure what happened but there was tan clay ALL OVER the garage. To be fair they tried to clean it up. When I went out there they had gotten the dish scrubber from the sink and were trying to "wash" the car. Oh goodness. Thankfully we were going to town that day and were able to get a carwash. I don't think it scratched the paint. 

 

 

The garage floor was such a mess. :P 

 

 

Next time I'll just let them do it at the kitchen table. :P 

Volleyball Tournament!

 This was the first time that I've been able to go to a full day of Boo's volleyball tournament! Normally I go to church and then get there as quick as I can, but I only get to see two or three games. I really enjoyed getting to watch all of her games this time! The girls were super busy. We had to be there a little after 7 and then they warmed up before working a game at 8. Then they played a game at 9 and did so great! This was a tough team but they won! Boo had some awesome hits!

 

  

 

 

 

They were definitely missing R, their setter, but the other girls stepped up and worked together to get the job done.

I don't think she missed a serve all day. 

 

 

Their only break of the day was at 10AM so they tried to eat "lunch" but no one was very hungry.  

 

 

Then it was another game at 11. She had some incredible blocks. 

 

 

They didn't end up winning that one but it was close! 

 

 

They worked at 12. 

 

 

And then had games at 1 and 2, but everyone had gotten behind so it was almost 3 by the time their 2 o'clock game started.  

 

 

So much volleyball! You could tell a lot of the girls were getting tired because people started missing their serves, but Boo stayed steady and even had a 7 point run in one of the last matches.  

 

 They were also starving because they'd been working or playing since that morning. The games were all really close and hard fought but they didn't end up pulling out another win.

 

 

 

But it was so fun to be there all day and watch her doing something she's so good at! 

 

 

She finally got to eat "lunch" at 4PM when they finished. :P That's when we headed to Noni and Papa's for the Superbowl party. It was a long day but they played hard and did a great job! Way to go girls!

Bowling and Football!

 Noni took her Sunday School class bowling the other day! It sounds like they had a lot of fun!

 

 

This is the new bowling alley and Noni said it was really nice! Love this series of pictures she got of Peanut and her friend B. :) 

 

 

Our Superbowl weekend was pretty crazy. Boo had had her basketball tournament Thursday and Friday, and then her boyfriend, N, who does wrestling had a tournament that she and Peanut went to for several hours on Saturday while I went to pick up Peaches and Lou from Noni's. 

 

Then late Saturday night Boo's best friend got sick which meant she and her family weren't able to take Boo to their volleyball tournament that Sunday. Technically Boo could have driven herself but we didn't want her driving over an hour away in the dark, with heavy fog and icy roads when she's only been on the freeway a few times, so she and I got up at 5:30AM and left at 6 to make it to her tournament. The rest of the family got up and went to church and then on to a birthday party for Peaches and Lou's friend, J.  

 

 

 

They left a little early from that and headed straight to Noni and Papa's where Noni had all the makings of a Superbowl party ready to go!  

 

 

The girls made signs to cheer for the Seahawks. :) 

 

 

Saturday morning they had done devotions and made cookies. 

 

 

 Boo and I spent most of the day at her tournament and then joined the rest of the family for the second half of the game. Noni and I played cards with Mama and then worked on a puzzle while the guys watched. Abby is such a licky dog. :P Lou thinks it is hilarious.

And I didn't get any pictures of the end, but everyone was very excited and happy that the Seahawks won! Phew what a busy weekend! 

Tournament!

 Superbowl weekend was crazy for us! It started Thursday with Boo's end-of-season basketball tournament. T took off work early and we all headed into the city. 

 

 

 Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Nae, Cousin K, Noni, and Bug all met us at the gym. You can see Grandma there across the way in her pink jacket. :) Boo came ready for a fight! She played so hard!

 

 

Boo has been averaging about 12 points a game, and she always has lots of steals and assists.

T has also taught Boo how to draw fouls so she usually gets to shoot several times a game.

 

 

This was the number 2 team in the league and we came in at last place, but our girls definitely made them work for their win. They were not going down without a fight! 

 

 

Boo did a great job. I love watching her play! 

 

 

Apparently these two stole my phone at some point. :P 

 

 

After the game we all went out to dinner. 

 

 

We are so thankful for such a wonderful family support system for our girls!!!

 

 

 

They played again the next day but the game didn't start until 7:30PM so we dropped the little ones off at Noni's so they would get to bed at a decent time. They love spending the night at Noni's and had a ball! She sent me this picture while we were at the game.

 

 

We also picked up Boo's boyfriend on the way...though he wasn't her boyfriend at the time. :) It was the first time we'd gotten to spend any time with him and we were very impressed! He is a really neat kid and they've known each other for years (they're in the same class at school) so it wasn't hard for us to get on board when he asked her to be his girlfriend a week later. :) 

 

I thought he might go sit with his friends when we got to the game since a lot of the high school came, but he sat right next to T and talked with him the whole game. :) 

 

I love how this league starts their games with prayer. 

 

 

 

This was probably Boo's best game of the season! She was an animal! She had so many points and steals, and once they figured out that she was scoring a lot and started putting multiple people on her she kept managing to find these little holes as she was driving to pass off the ball to a teammate so they could score. She was incredible!

 

 

 

I can't remember how many points she made but it was definitely in the double digits! 

 

 

 Three of their best players got into foul trouble in the first half so that really helped us. The boys basketball team led the fans in cheers and the gym was deafening!

 

 

But the best moment of the night was when she drove and had to skirt around some defenders so she came up under the other side of the hoop with a perfect reverse! T had been working on that exact thing with her over Christmas break and when she pulled up out of it she had the biggest smile on her face and pointed straight at him. It was so sweet and the fans went wild!

 

 

 

Our team brought the score up from over ten behind and were neck and neck. We were all so excited but unfortunately in the beginning of the fourth quarter she got tripped and face planted into the floor. Blood started dripping out of her nose so she had to come out. She got it under control after a few minutes and was able to go back in, but the damage was done and we weren't able to pull off the win. They tried SO hard though! Such a great season these girls had!!  

 

 

We are so proud of how hard they all worked and especially of our fierce Boo who has such amazing skills! Not only is she an awesome all-around player, she is a great leader who encourages her teammates and keeps them on track mentally as well as physically. I know I'm biased but she is incredible! AND I can't be that biased because I overheard the head coach of the other team tell his assistant, "That little number 30...she's top five in the league." She was so happy when I told her that later in the car!

 

 

Way to go girls!! You were awesome! What a way to end the season!
