Birthday Fun!

 I had to wake up Peanut on her birthday. This was about 5 seconds after her eyes opened. She walked out...

 

 

And T put a robe on her and gave her a scepter and told her she was queen for the day. I didn't know he was going to do that. Her expression was hilarious, haha. 

 

 

She got dressed and came down a few minutes later...much more alert. Haha.

 

 

13 is the age of makeup in our house! I also found her a cute little makeup bag with an A on it. 

 

 

Instead of a birthday party she asked if she could go shopping at her favorite store, Goodwill, with her friends, so after breakfast we got in the car and traversed the countryside, literally, to pick up her three closest friends. It took about an hour and fifteen minutes to do that, but we finally made it! I gave each of the girls $15 to spend and they shopped and laughed for over an hour!  

 

 

They all tried on lots of different clothes and each got several things! Such a fun birthday idea! 

 

 

At the last minute they decided to get stuffed animals to take on retreat together. :) 

 

 

After the shopping excursion we met Noni and the little ones at Jersey Mike's. 

 

 

We had lunch and then did presents and cupcakes. 

 

 

She got some sweet gifts from her friends! 

 

 

Then we did the whole hour and fifteen trip in reverse to drop everyone off. :P 

 

We got home and packed up for camping. Daddy arrived and she opened the rest of her presents. 

 

 

She got a watch from Uncle B and Aunt M. 

 

 

And some special paints and paper from Aunt N and Uncle M.  

 

 

And EIGHTY-FOUR pairs of earrings from Aunt D and Uncle W!  

 

 

She also got an alarm clock and sunset lamp from Grandma and Grandpa, and birthday money from Mama, Pawpaw, Uncle K and Aunt J, and Aunt K! 

 

 

What a wonderful birthday! We piled in the car and headed toward the campground as soon as she finished her presents...pictures from that tomorrow!

Leftover Thursday

 

I am really behind with pictures! In July we celebrated Mama's 94th birthday! We went over to Noni and Papa's for dinner, cake, and presents.

 

 

 

Among other things she got an adorable little ceramic dog that hangs on the edge of a flower pot.  

 

 

 

I found her some cute ceramic birds at a gift shop when we were on our trip. We also got her two big bags of bird seed. 

 

 

 

My birthday a few days later was very peaceful and relaxed...until I looked up and saw a giant black cloud. We later learned that someone had not properly put out a campfire and it started a huge and fast moving fire that ended up taking out an entire bay of cabins. I think only a few permanent homes were lost, but many of our friends lost their lake cabins. It was really sad. :'(

 

 The sky looked like this for over a week. We were just on the edge of the evacuation zone, but thankfully the firefighters were able to keep it down at the river and it didn't come towards us or the town.

 

 

 

On my birthday the girls and I went to town for Sonic drinks and picked up Qdoba. We took it back to Noni and Papa's and had a nice evening eating outside on the deck. I think Lou took this picture. :) 

 

 

 

And Noni took this one. T and the girls got me a bunch of sweet gifts including a watch that I've been wanting for a while!  

 

 

At the beginning of June I was starting to worry that my little four inch high tomato plants weren't going to produce anything this year...I guess I shouldn't have worried. :P This was the second week of July. 

 

 

Bug's best friend, A, came over one night and the four girls went for a walk. Then they apparently got tired because they asked T to come get them. :P He told us to jump in and we took his old pick up.

 

 

 

 

Peaches and Lou found this giant moth. They made a house for it out of a box. T looked it up and apparently they only live for about 24 hours!?! Sure enough it died and they were very sad and had to bury it under the tree. :P

Wordless Wednesday

 

Themepark! - Part 2

 After the roller coasters Lou and I headed for more kiddie rides. The elephants.

And she did several of the other ones over again. Then it was back to meet up with the others for the Tilt N' Whirl. One of the girls had gotten sick on this one last year so we wanted to do it before snack time, haha. Peanut and A went together. 

 

 

And S took Peaches and Lou. They don't look to happy here, lol.

Then we got ice cream for everyone! We learned our lesson from last year and had these two share. The portions are huge! 

 

 

It was super hot at this point so Daddy took Peanut, Peaches, and S to the water park while I kept Lou and A. They wanted to do bumper boats which we usually don't do because the line is terrible, but it wasn't too bad so we waited. I was a little worried about Lou steering the boat by herself but she really wanted to do it by herself and she did great!  

 

 

She did have a little trouble at the end because the docking station she was headed for got filled before she got there so she ended up having to go all the way down the end and everyone was sitting there waiting for her. She eventually made it, and said she had fun on the ride. :) 

 

 

They went on the Ferris wheel next (third from the top) and I ran into Boo and some of her friends and got to sit and talk with them for a bit.  

 

 

Then it was more rides. 

 

 

The others came back and said they had fun at the waterpark but it was so crowded they only got to do one slide, and then did a couple laps around the lazy river. We did a few more rides and then it was time to go. We ordered pizza for the car ride home and gathered everyone up including one of Boo's friends who needed a ride home. 

 

Last year Peaches and Lou wore flip flops and their feet got sore and had light blisters so this year they wore tennis shoes. At the end of the day Lou was saying her feet felt yucky so while we were waiting for the pizza she took off her shoes and I was startled to find her feet were white and wrinkly from wearing wet tennis shoes all day. The girls said they looked like a corpses feet. :P We will have to try something else next year!

 

 

Other than that it was an amazing, fun, busy, day and we had a wonderful time!!  

Themepark!

 We've been having the O girls over a lot during harvest this year while their parents have been farming, and invited them to go with us to the themepark! Our girls were super excited that they were able to come. We met up with Auntie Nae and the cousins, but this is all we ended up seeing them the whole day...giant line to get into the park. :P 

 

 

It was the staff day for the girls' camp so they got to go with all their friends as well! 

It was SOO crowded! Worse than I've ever seen before, BUT it was also super hot so all the crowds headed for the waterpark leaving short lines for all the rides and roller coaster which was so nice!! We went straight for our favorite water ride to get wet and stay cool. We only had to wait about ten minutes before we were on.

 

 

Then we did the other water ride on this side of the park. This has always been one of my favorites!

 

 

 

The airplanes were next for Peaches and Lou. 

 

 

And then all the girls went on this Ferris wheel type ride. Lou went with the big girls. 

 

 

And Peaches and A were in their own (blue umbrella). 

 

 

Then we split up and Lou and I headed for the kiddie rides while Daddy took the other four to roller coaster alley. 

 She did all her favorites...the Froggy ride.

A different airplane ride and also the train. She wanted to go on these ones "all by herself" which is fine with me because even with Dramamine on board they still make me queasy! 

 

 

Then we headed over to meet up with the others because she said she wanted to go on a big roller coaster. They went on one of the wooden ones and I got this picture. 

 

  

 

But the second one "terrified" her she said so she didn't want to do any others. They were literally walking on to that one and ended up riding it four times in a row! Here they are the first time. She was excited to go. Not so much once she came off. :P

 

 

But these ones loved it and raced back towards the entrance as soon as they came off it!

 

 

I thought it was funny that they kept doing big sister/little sister for riding configuration, but they swapped sisters. I guess the big girls are more tolerant when it's not their own little sister. Haha.  

 

  

They went to another one while I took Lou back to kiddie land. Daddy got a picture of the four girls on this one. Peanut and S (the older two) have their heads up, but Peaches and A both have their heads down, haha. They had just gone through a double upside down loop.
