Our not-so-little peanut is twelve! She has grown and matured so much in the last year and has turned into a little lady. It's actually not hard for me to believe she is twelve this year because she seems so mature and grown up lately.
This will be her last year at home as we plan to send her to Christian school for 8th grade. She did a great job with her schoolwork last year and kept up with the rigid Middle school schedule. The work load kicks up about 100 notches in Middle school with our online program so I was a little nervous about the transition but she handled it beautifully and got straight A's and was on honor roll both semesters.
She graduated from lower AWANA this year and is looking forward to being in with the big kids this year. She finished all her T&T books and got her Timothy award. I'm not sure where she will work during AWANA yet but I have no doubt she will do great! She is really good with little kids so I'm guessing they'll put her in with Noni. She has a way of drawing out shy/nervous little kids (and animals as well). When no one else can get close to them she can. She works in the church nursery once a month and does great.
She continued to excel in piano this year. I am so impressed by her natural ability. I wish I could play like she does. She hears a song on the radio and can sit down on the piano and pick it out. I have never been able to do even after 37 years of playing the piano that so I know it is just a God-given talent. She has played several offertorys this year and always does a beautiful job.
Her big activity this year was gymnastics! She had a lot of fun and enjoyed learning all the new skills. She made some good friends in the class and I was impressed with how well she did. She also played soccer in the spring and did a great job of getting back to it after a 4 year Covid-induced hiatus. She is looking forward to playing again next year.
Drama club was her other activity for the year and she did an amazing job reprising her role as Dorothy in the spring play. She has a natural talent for acting and I can't wait to see what she does this year!
She still loves crafting, baking, drawing, painting, and anything artsy. She is so creative and I often find her sitting at her desk creating one masterpiece or another.
One thing that I have really appreciated this year is how well she plays with her little sisters. She is teetering on that brink of leaving those childhood things behind, but she will still play with them for hours and they love it! I was really worried about how Lou would do with Peaches at camp for four days in July but Peanut stepped in and played with her for hours every day. It was so sweet. She is a wonderful big sister!

Dear Peanut,
Happy Birthday sweet girl! You are growing up so fast and have blossomed into a beautiful young lady this year. I love watching you grow and change and become the person God has created you to be. You are fun and funny, smart, creative, beautiful, and so talented! God has definitely given you an abundance of talents and I can't wait to see how you use them for His glory!
You have had such a great summer and I have loved watching how sweet you are with your little sisters. You guys can spend hours playing outside either on the slip-n-slide, in the hot tub, playing games, or doing chalk on the patio. I love your kind way with them and I know they love you so much. Thank you for being such a great big sister.
This is your last year as a "kid"...next year you will be a teenager and headed to school. I know you are going to do amazing there, but I am happy we get one more year with you at home. You are so much fun and make our days better just by being here. I love you so much and am so thankful for you.
I'm looking forward to seeing what God has for you this year and I hope it is your best year yet! I love you more than I could ever say. Thanks for being you, sweet girl. Keep allowing God to lead you as you grow into the young woman He has created you to be. I love you.
