Birthdays!

 We headed over to Noni's for Mama's birthday and spent another fun day with the family. There were golf cart rides...

 

 

And dominoes...

 

 

Another yummy dinner and then cake and presents!

 

 

The little ones made her sweet cards.

 

 

We all went together on getting her a new easy chair for her living room, but T insisted that she needed this gift since she loves birds...

 

 

The Lego birdhouse, haha. 

 

 

Grandma and Grandpa also sent a gift...pop its, lol, since she had so much fun with them on the 4th! 

 

 

We celebrated my birthday a few days later by going to paint pottery! They all went together and got me a gift card! Normally I try to paint something small since it is so expensive, but with the gift card I was able to get a nice big platter than I can use for entertaining and church events! 

 

 

Peanut made another ice cream bowl so now we have 7! 

 

 

Lou painted a fox.

 

 

And Peaches did a llama.

 

 

 A wonderful birthday celebration!!

 

 

We got Papa Murphey's and took it back to the house for dinner, and Aunt K and Aunt J made my favorite summer dessert! I don't know what it's called but it's pretty much coconut cream pie on top of a pecan sandie.

 

 

My actual birthday was very relaxed. The girls and I hung out and didn't do much of anything. They put the slip n slide back out and played around.

 

 

 

 While I sat and read my book. This is my new happy place. No matter what else is going on at any given moment I can sit for 20 minutes and read my book and feel totally at peace surrounded by my pretty flowers.

They made me a chalk sign.

 

 

T got off a little early and went to see the new Despicable Me 4 movie and then tried out Wing Stop. It was a perfect birthday!

42 is looking pretty good!

4th of July!

 We celebrated the 4th of July at our house this year! Grandma and Grandpa had been over all day on the 3rd and spent the night so the guys could make some good progress on the shop. The rest of the family joined us that evening for a BBQ. Noni brought some fun 4th glow-in-the-dark tattoos that were a big hit!

 

 

F and his family were able to join us too!

 

 

We bought some nice steak, chicken, and shrimp from Costco and marinaded them for two days before making kabobs out of them. T was the grill master.

 

 

A rousing game of volleyball was played before dinner.

 

 

Dinner was so good! We'll have to do that more often!

 

 

The kids got out the Bocci ball set after dinner.

 

 

They were looking so cute I had to get a picture. :)

 

 

We didn't buy any fireworks but Grandma brought poppers so the kids had fun with those!

 

 

Peanut made a flag angel food cake and our traditional Hello Dollys!

 

 

And the S family brought their snowcone machine!

 

 

This thing was legit! 

 

 

So happy!

 

 

Mama was using her walker and rolled over a pop-it and got a huge kick out of it so she went rolling around looking for more. Haha!

 

 

My friend R was staying with us for a few days and was able to join us for dessert after the dinner she went to.

 

 One last round of sunset volleyball before bed.

Slip and Slide!

 T and I were working on the shop and it was time to lay down the plastic frost barrier. The girls were over in the yard running through the sprinklers and we had an extra piece when we were done so we took it over and made a home-made slip'n slide!

 

 

They had a BLAST!

 

 

They literally spent the next 3 hours running up the hill and sliding down.

 

 

Who knew you could have so much fun with a piece of plastic?!

Unfortunately we burned the lawn a little but thankfully after a few weeks and mows it came back just fine! :P
