After Pictures!

 I was so happy with how Lou's room turned out! I actually ended up with too many decorations from the pile I had been gathering the past year so I was able to pick and chose. This is what I ended up with on her main wall...with the exception of a little coat hook that is still waiting to be hung. It's so sweet! I have always loved polka dots and this room just makes me happy anytime I am in it!

 

 

Noni had bought her the new sheets for her birthday. Mama got her the pillow, and I crocheted the blanket for her last winter.

 

 

My inspiration for the room was this sweet picture frame that my friend D gave her. 

 

 

Our closet came together really nicely. Here is is before we filled it right up. :P

 

 

The floors and T's trim turned out beautifully! It seemed so strange to have it finished after 2.5 years of living with it undone. Haha.

 

T found this bed for only $100 on Craig's list!! Grandma and Grandpa went and picked it up for us...that ended up being an ordeal in and of itself because the house was super hard to find and I think they had no cell service where it was. Sorry about that Grandma and Grandpa but thank you so much!!! 

I found the comforter on Overstock.com. The nightstands we got at Ikea on our Seattle trip. I had been planning to paint them to match the bed but they matched just fine on their own. The curtains and rods came from Wayfair, and the lamp stands were from our wedding! I just spray painted them black to match. We got new shades for them at Home Goods. I still need to figure out an above the bed decoration.

 

 

I got a gray cover for my favorite snuggle chair to cover up the very used upholstery and all the baby spit up stains since I used this chair for nursing D. Haha. 

 

One of my friend's from college has an Etsy shop and made me the three pictures on the wall. My friend E bought me a plant last November and I've actually managed to keep it alive so I bought two others in hopes of continuing my newfound success. Haha.

 

 

Our bathroom is one of my favorite parts! I love everything about it! The tile, the vanity, the towels, the hardware, the lights...I love how it all came together! Plus T put in a section of in-floor heating there in the middle and it's so nice and toasty on the feet!

 

 

We ordered a sectional couch for the upstairs family room on December 19th. It came on June 3rd!!  Crazy Covid. :P But it fits perfectly and more importantly WE all fit on the same couch!! 

 It is so nice to see our house finally coming together and getting finished! We are very thankful for the blessing it has already been to us and we hope we can bless others with it as well!

Just Keep Working, Just Keep Working

 We are sooo close to being finished! Thankfully, because both of us are totally burned out! I can't remember where I left off on the Farmhouse update...I think in the middle of the floor project because that took us several weeks of weeknights and weekends. T had to pause one Saturday to participate in the church work day so I kept demoing. The girls helped me and we accidentally knocked down the schoolroom counter on one side when we slid the supporting cabinet too far over. It crashed down on Boo's head, but thankfully I caught it before the full brunt hit her. :(

 

 

I really love this color that we picked! It was a little more difficult because it didn't come with the backing in place, but I just couldn't find a pre-backed one that I loved.

 

 

T got me started on the bedroom and I finished half of it when he went to do another errand for church the next (Sunday) afternoon.

 

He was able to get the bedroom finished up later that week and I loved how they turned out! He installed the crown molding and I painted it.

 

It took me a full Saturday to clear out the laundry room and then he demoed it another night.

 

 

This little picture made me more irrationally upset than anything has in a long while. Lol. The basement bathroom was literally the only sparkling clean room in the house but because of the floor demo above a ton of dirt was knocked down into it. When I found it a few days later I felt like crying. :P Thankfully it didn't take long to clean up, but I ended up re-cleaning another two times before the floor was finally installed and we stopped knocking dirt down onto it.

 

 

 

The laundry room took a few more evenings to finish.

 

 

But the last board was finally put in place! 

 

 

Unfortunately the garage was so packed with everything from the laundry room we could hardly walk through there for a solid week.

 

 

We finally got enough space cleared that I could spend a different weekend painting trim as fast as T could put it up...or vice versa I guess.

 

 

And another weekend was spent repainting all of the nursery furniture white. I tried to make peace with it staying brown because it would have been SO much less work, but I just couldn't. I really wanted it to be white. While I did that T painted some cabinets green for me. These were the cabinets the previous owners had installed in the then-tiny kitchen and we had pulled them out when we expanded it. They have never been used...by humans. They were a mouse hotel for the first few years of their life. I made sure to disinfect them very well before we installed them in their new home...the laundry room. 

 

 

The nursery furniture took a good 5 coats on every piece! :(

 

 

But it was worth it! I LOVE how it turned out...pictures of that tomorrow! 

Farm Friends

 I've been doing a read through the bible in a year program with some friends from church. To celebrate that we made it through the first 150 days one of the couples hosted a BBQ. They live pretty far out so we had never been to their house before. It was some gorgeous scenery on the way there, but I don't know if I could live that far back in the woods! The views made me think twice though! They live in a beautiful little valley with big hills on either side for great hiking right outside their door! 

The girls had a blast because they have all sorts of animals! Including baby goats that were just a few days old when we visited! They were so cute and funny, jumping all around.

 

 

They had at least six of the softest bunnies!!! 

 

 

The goats were just Lou's size.

 

 

They also had a bunch of chickens and also a separate area with chicks!

They had so much fun and were so busy playing we adults got to have some good conversations too! I'm hoping we can get our back patio area finished so we can host our next get together!

Leftover Thursday

 For some reason I am TERRIBLE at Science experiments! I try so hard and they never turn out the way they are supposed to! We tried this one four times and it never worked! You're supposed to boil water in a can and then flip it over into a pan of cold water and the change in pressure from the hot/cold is supposed to make the can crumple. It didn't. :(

Boo had to make a model of the water cycle so we used to humidifier which she "dressed up". 

 

 

 

This was the girl's April Fool's joke on Daddy. "Daddy! Daddy! Come quick! There's water running down the stairs!" He wasn't fooled. :P 

 

 

The little ones LOVE to paint. I just have to be in the mood to give them a bath afterwards because it's impossible for them to keep the paint on the paper!

 

 

Peanut is quite the artist!

 

 

And so is Lou. :P

Happy Re-birthday Peanut!

 We celebrated Peanut's re-birthday in May. She requested monkey bread for breakfast.

 

 She got an Odyssey of course. :)

  

Lou wanted to help her unwrap it and Peanut sweetly pushed it toward, but Boo didn't see that and told her no.

 

 

Here she is scowling at her. Haha. 

 

 

 Peanut also got a devotion book.

 

 

 

Boo had a basketball game that night and Bug had volleyball practice. Daddy took Boo to her game (only one spectator per player allowed because of Covid) and I ran Bug to volleyball and then took the younger three out to dinner. Peanut wanted Chinese food.

Lou's transition out of the high chair has been a little rough. She climbed up and down off the seat multiple times. :P

 

 

But we had fun celebrating our Peanut and the most important day of her life!
