Leftover Thursday

 T showed me how to mow with the tractor. I felt very accomplished. Lol. 

Look who figured out how to take a selfie. :P She was pretty pleased with herself.

I cannot keep her own shoes on her but this kid loves to take other people's and wear them around. Daddy's are a little hard to maneuver. 

Big sister level: PRO.

These two are finally starting to get a long! Or maybe not based on the look on Taco's face. Haha! 

Poor cat can't catch a break. :)

Wordless Wednesday

Swimming and Insulation

We passed our electrical inspection so T told me I could call to get an estimate on the spray foam insulation. We really liked the guy that did it for us the first time so I contacted him and he came out a few days later. He said they had a three week lead time and gave us a small list of things we needed to get done. Then the next day he texted and said, actually I can squeeze you in this Thursday. So Peanut and I ran to town for the supplies and T and I worked one night til 10:30 prepping. We had used foam baffles which apparently just melt when the hot insulation touches them so we had to replace them all with cardboard ones. T also had to put in some plywood stops for the insulation to stick to in the attic spaces, and drill out a little bit of every blocking board to get good airflow in the attic.

You can't be in the house when they are spraying so I took the kids to the lake that day. We normally just go for a couple hours in the morning but since we couldn't go home for naps anyway I decided to just see how long we could stay without melt downs. 

None of our usual group could make it so we were pleasantly surprised to find some other friends from church were going that day. 

  

 

Peaches' little buddy from preschool was there and they played sweetly together the whole time! 

  

Lou loves to fill buckets up with water and then dump them somewhere else. :) 

 

Boo and her best friend from church did a lot of dock jumping.

 And then everyone gathered together to build a pretty big sand castle!

We always eat lunch in the car on the way home because that is the only way to keep Lou awake. If she falls asleep in the car she wakes up the second we stop and then won't go back down even if it's just been a short while. This day we were able to have a picnic and she happily ate in her chair for a good thirty minutes. 

The girls were also introduced to kid sized kayaks! They are so cool! They pretty much just sit on top of the water and almost look like a paddle board. The girls really want one but apparently they are really popular because they are sold out everywhere. 

Peanut took a turn every chance she got and loved going back and forth across the swimming area, usually with Peaches as a passenger.

After two hours Lou got pretty tired. It was time for nap so she just wanted to be held. After a while she got a second wind and started playing again. 

Mr. T helped Lou build castle walls which she smashed as promptly as they went up. Haha. 

We stayed for nearly three and half hours before heading towards home. Both the little ones fell asleep in the car so I randomly drove around so they could at least get 45 minutes. :P

We hung out at church for a while before getting the all clear from the insulators. When we got home we checked things out and it looked so nice! I feel like it really cleans up the space! 

Now we are ready to start sheet-rocking!

Blueberries!

One of our favorite days of summer...blueberry picking day! We didn't have Noni and Mama this year which was a bummer, but we did have lots of friends so that was fun!

It had just started to get hot in our neck of the woods, but we picked the perfect day because it was overcast and fairly cool! Perfect! The girls actually stayed pretty focused and picked steadily for over an hour before running off to play with their friends.

 

Lou did surprisingly well staying close to me and not getting into trouble. Probably because blueberries are her favorite food so being in the middle of a acres of them was a dream come true for her. She probably ate half a pound. Lol. 

She has started doing this thing where if you ask her what's she's eating she opens her mouth to show you. :P

Figuring out that the green ones don't taste as good. :)

I had a high goal for blueberries, and I definitely would have been there another solid hour but my friends finished picking what they wanted and then kept picking to help me out, so sweet! We ended up with 8 buckets I think! 

I tried to get a picture of all the girls running down the row, but by the time I got my camera out there were only a few left. Haha.

Everything is better with friends! 

 

The blueberries were bigger than ever this year! A lot of them were what I would consider normal size, but then a lot of them were huge, like this one!

I had enough to freeze blueberries to have muffins twice a month for a whole year and then I also made syrup to go with our blueberry pancakes. So good! 

We also ate at least 5 pounds...probably more...over the course of the week. A good antioxidant boost. Haha!

Happy Birthday Mama!

The girls and I headed over to Noni and Papa's house for Mama's birthday a few weeks ago. We had some smoke bombs left from the 4th of July and we lit them off and did a funny Happy Birthday song. :)

 

We played in the yard and Lou found the hose. 

Haha.

Peaches said her last verse to Noni.

We are back to trying to social distance since we have been going to church and exposing ourselves to the germs there. 

 Of course the girls inch closer and closer.

 

But we tried to keep our distance as we watched Mama open her presents and cards. 

  

And blew out her candle. 

We sure will be glad when we no longer have to social distance!
