"Lou"

Well we can't seem to decide on a nickname for baby girl so I think strictly for blog purposes I am going to call her "Lou". Yes that seems like an odd choice, haha, but I use a shortened version of her name and add Lou to it so it works. :)

Shower!

T asked his parents for one this for his birthday...help getting started on the basement shower project. Grandma and Grandpa came over that weekend and the guys worked downstairs for most of the day.

Grandma taught the girls a new card game and got in some baby snuggles. :)

The guys first put up the waterproof backing.

And then started tiling. Little did I know this would be such a huge project! I looked at dozens of tiles and just couldn't find anything I liked, so I decided to just go with a simple subway tile. Simple so I thought. Because we planned to use dark gray grout T had to be super meticulous. He spent an hour or two every night for two weeks working on it.

Then once that was done he spent his nights filling in the cracks with the grout and cleaning it perfectly. 

I am so thankful for all his hard work though because it turned out beautifully! I love it! 

And I'm especially going to love not sharing our shower with the girls and finding my shampoo and conditioner squirted out all over the tub. ;)

Sherberts

Baby girl has been working on her sherberts. She does quite have it down yet, but she's getting there. :)

Leftover Thursday

Chef Buggy! She still makes breakfast almost every single morning, loves to bake, and now has started making dinner every now and then! She has a recipe called Track Meat Pies and they are so good! We all love them!

This dress was passed down to us by some sweet friends. I love that all our girls have been able to wear it! 

Blanket forts...messy but oh so fun! :P

This is what Peanut's hair does after braids. I think it's so cute!

Peaches used her birthday money to buy her own Calico Critter house. She is finally starting to be able to play and not just wreck the other girls' stuff. :)

We have ants. Yuck. They aren't just little sugar ants either...they are these bigger black ants that don't seem susceptible to ant poison. I've tried both store bought and homemade and they are still around, though not as bad as they were before. The weird part is they seemed to come from the top down. We first spotted them in our room on the upper story. They eventually made their way down to the kitchen, and mostly congregate there but I have found them in almost every room of the house...all three floors and even one in the baby's room. Grr. I hope we figure out a way to get rid of them soon!

Wordless Wednesday

Spring!

We had such a crazy six weeks of winter weather that I was SO happy when the sun started shining and the snow started melting! We actually still have a few patches of snow in the shade but for the most part it is gone. When it first started warming up again I would sit with baby girl in the window seat of the dining room and open the window to soak up some Vitamin D. It was only in the 50's, but it felt so warm after the bitterly cold February and early March!

 

The girls spotted this fat robin and took his picture through the window. :) 

  

I figured it would be a few more weeks before they wanted to go out and play, but they put on some play clothes and boots and headed out into the muddy sunshine! 

For a week they spent 1-2 hours outside every day...raking leaves, poking sticks into the mud, building a fort, and who knows what else!
