O Christmas Tree!

We left Noni and Papa's house on Saturday at 1 and headed home to decorate! T and the girls got all the blowups set up while I assembled the tree. I had found an awesome tree at the garage sales last June for $5! It is WAY better than our old one. It's also a LOT thicker and took me almost an hour and half to get the branches all spread out.

We ate Noni's Chex mix for dinner with hot chocolate while listening to Christmas music and putting up the ornaments.

I was hanging up this ornament that Aunt Karen made me several years ago out of one of my baby pictures and thought it looked like Peaches. :)

The girls did a great job decorating the tree!

Peanut put quite a few on each branch, but otherwise they were nicely spaced.

They were each so excited to hang their baby ornaments!

Daddy was in charge of handing them out from the boxes.

And though quite a few got dropped we only had one tragedy.

We had to forego the tradition of Daddy holding all the girls to put up the star. I put it on instead...while standing on a chair. Our new tree is wider, thicker, and much taller.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

10 Months

Well, 10 months has brought some changes. At one point I said to myself, "The honeymoon is over." Between teething and a bad cold, after a bad cold...after a bad cold, our sweet little Peaches has learned how to whine and fuss. 

Not that I blame her. I'm starting to get a little fussy too. The little ones have literally been sick for the past three months. I keep telling myself that they're "building their immune systems" but Peanut just brings home one cold after another from preschool. She'll get one, it lasts for a week or two, meanwhile she gives it to the baby, they finally get healthy for two or three days and then the cycle starts right up again.

Peanut started to get goopy eyes during one of the colds, but after 2-3 days it went away. So when Peaches got the goopy eyes I figured it would go away. Then a week passed of her waking up with her eyes pasted completely shut and I realized I should probably take her to the doctor. But she had her 9 month check-up in a few days so I decided to wait it out. Her doctor prescribed some eye drop antibiotics, but said he'd hold off on giving them to her for a few more days to see if it cleared up. It did seem like it was clearing up, but then she'd wake up pasted shut again.

Finally a week later I gave in and started the eye drop routine. Four times a day for five days. Not fun. And then the five days passed and the goop was much improved, but still there. And now a week has passed where each morning I am still getting up and washing her eyes/face from the crust that has formed in the night. This has been going on for a month now. And I should probably just take her back in.... :'{

So between sickness, goopy eyes, and teeth we've had a rough month. 

But there have definitely been some fun changes too. 

This shall henceforth be known as the "Oooo" month. 

And she's still a happy happy girl...when she's not coughing up phlegm and getting her eyes washed out. :P

And of course the most exciting thing this past month is the crawling! Mobile baby!

 

She's also getting much better/consistent with waving!

And the hair continues to grow...one strand at a time. Haha! If you look closely you can see it actually sticking up from her head a little!

 

Words are also starting to form. I swear she can say "Gentle". She has lots of practice since I say it to her about 50 times a day as she pulls my hair and earrings, and bites my face when giving "kisses". 

She's also getting better at pulling herself up! "Oooo!"

And has absolutely no fear or sense of self-awareness. I have to keep a close eye on her as she randomly dives off of the bed and I catch her by the ankle. :P

At her checkup she weighed 18 pounds even and is 27 inches long. That puts her at 25%. Double chin and rolls on her thighs, but she's in the 25??  Haha, seems odd to me.

So all-in-all we've had some not-so-good changes this month, but life can't be perfect forever right? ;) And we're still head over heals in love with this adorable, sweet baby girl...fussy days and all! 

Because that smile makes it all worthwhile!

Happy Thanksgiving!

 Turkey Day! 

Noni had a meeting on Tuesday night before Thanksgiving so the girls worked ahead so they could take an extra day off of school, and went with her. Daddy took Wednesday off of work so he could spend the whole day on the computer writing a paper for his current class. :P He finished that up and then he, Peaches, and I headed over.

It was pretty much bedtime for the girls once we got there, but we played Rumikub with Noni and Papa after the girls were in bed. Thanksgiving day was cooking, relaxing, and puzzling. We found a new, fun puzzle on Amazon called Story Time. The girls loved it and had a great time putting together their favorites!

We invited one of the families from church to join us for the day. They are new to us, but not to the church. They used to be members 8 years ago...in fact our first Sunday there was their last. But now they are back and we had a great time getting to know them better! 

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had an amazing dinner with two turkeys and a ham! Plus all the traditional side dishes...yum! I thought Peaches would love the sweet potatoes since she has had them (pureed and in oatmeal), but apparently the chunks were too much for her because she started gagging on them and had a nice 4-part puke up at the Thanksgiving table. :P She was much happier with bits of roll. 

She has been doing a really funny "ooo" face lately.

We are so blessed to have four generations of love!

We found out partway through the day that it was Mr. J's birthday! So we had to sing to him of course! :)

The girls had a great time with the teenagers. :) It was a fun day!

The next morning T and I were planning to sleep and just get a slow start on our black Friday shopping, but Peaches decided to get up at 5:30! She had another bad cold and was coughing pretty hard. After trying to get her to sleep for an hour we finally gave up. I fed her and she fell asleep so I carefully put her back in bed and we headed out to the stores. 

We had the best time! We missed shopping with Auntie Nae, but ended up meeting Grandma and Grandpa for lunch. 

One of the things I love most about T is that he makes me laugh. All. The. Time. Case in point: 

 We counted it up and we hit 15 places in 8.5 hours! And got most of our Christmas shopping done! Everyone was so nice wherever we went. We didn't hear a single cross word the whole day. Both shoppers and employees were happy, friendly, and in the Christmas spirit! It was a wonderful day! 

While we were busy shopping the girls were busy decorating! They were having a blast too...helping Noni put up her tree!

We got back by four and had turkey dinner leftovers before playing lots of card games.  I asked Boo to get a picture of us playing cards...which I guess she technically did. :)

 Grandma found a blow-up Te for Peanut when she was shopping and gave it to us to take to her. She was SO excited and insisted on sleeping with it on all night. Haha! 

We played Scrabble after the girls went to bed. T ended up winning...must have been his "puked" that did it. Haha!

 The next morning we finished another puzzle and played a few more rounds of cards before packing up the car and heading home. It was a WONDERFUL thanksgiving full of family, friends, and fun!
