“Dat funny?”– Part 2

Sorry I’ve been slacking a bit!  We went in two different directions this weekend…the girls on a little trip with Noni and Papa and T, Peanut and I out to Grandma and Grandpa’s so T could help Grandpa with his shop.  I didn’t take any pictures of our weekend so I need to get Noni’s pictures of theirs.  Until then here’s another installment of “Dat funny?” by the one and only Boo Bear. :)

May 24th

I’ve read that you aren’t supposed to give popcorn to kids under the age of 4 since it’s a choking hazard, so we try to limit our girls’ intake.  Up until this year we hadn’t really made it at all for them at home.  Their one chance to get popcorn was at Target.  Consequently this led Boo to believe that popcorn or “cop-corn” as she called it, could only be acquired at Target.  This became apparent to us at one of Bug’s T-Ball games last year when some of our friends brought popcorn.  Boo went over to them and said, “You go to Target?  Get cop-corn?”

May 25th

Part of the reason Boo makes us laugh so often is just because of the adorable way she says things.  This particular day she was working a puzzle and was getting a little frustrated.  “I haff-ta work-ah dis puzz-yel.  It hard for yittle gurls!”

June 8th

I went to pick her up from Sunday School and she had a bandaid on.  “What happened?” I asked.  “Fell down at sunny school” she answered, “Need bandaid.”  Me: “What made you fall?” Boo: “Um.  Me?”

June 12th

I gave her a peanut butter cookie and she told me, “Yum…dis won-dee-ful Mommy!”

June 22nd

Boo (during lunch): “I smwell cow poop!”  I shook my head, no, at her.  Bug: “What did she say?”  Me: “Nothing.” Bug: “What?  Was it in-propriate?”

June 29th

Bug, Boo, and Daddy picked some strawberries from the garden after we ate lunch outside one day.  She was so excited, jumping up and down.  “Staw-bees are my fav-rit fav-rit snack!”

July 3rd

T was asking me where I wanted to go for my birthday so I said, “I want to go to Red Lobster.  We don’t there since you don’t like it very much.”  Boo pipes up from the back seat, “I like alligators now wob-sters!”

July 11th

I saw Boo spank Bug’s bottom and told her, “We don’t touch other people’s bootys.”  With a very serious expression on her face she told me, “Or monkeys!”

Disney On Ice

For the past two years we have gone to Disney On Ice for Noni’s birthday.  This year is was a couple of weeks early but we decided to keep the tradition going.  The girls were thrilled…especially since the theme this year was Dare to Dream with Rapunzel as the main star. 

They got all dressed up in their princess outfits and we headed to the show!

We took a few pictures while we waited for the show to start.

The first story was Tianna.  It was good, but since we haven’t seen that movie it wasn’t as big of a hit. 

Then it was Cinderella’s story complete with a “horse” drawn carriage!

But the excitement really started when it was time for Rapunzel.  She is by far our favorite princess around here and we were all thrilled to see Maximus was a part of the show as well. :)

The girls’ favorite part of the show was when Rapunzel and Eugene/Flynn went flying up in the air on her “hair”.

It is quite typical to play Rapunzel around here, but now even more so! 

Yesterday the girls were playing and Boo was Eugene.  She had taken off her pajamas and I told her to go get dressed.  They both went upstairs and she came down like this!

Pretty impressive!  I can’t figure out how to link a picture so if you go to this website you can see just how impressive this outfit is that they put together all by themselves of Flynn Rider.

She even had her satchel to put the crown in.  Perfect!

Happy Birthday Noni!

Yesterday was Noni’s birthday!  It was a busy Awana night so we crammed in as much celebrating as possible with a quick dinner, cake, and presents.

First was dinner…Noni’s favorite: hamburgers on homemade rolls! 

Then it was onto the made-from-scratch carrot cake, by Papa.  He let the girls help him decorate with the candles.

Happy Birthday to you…love how Peanut is in on the action. :)

Then it was time for presents…

Peanut was a little motorboat, just sherbet-ing away. :)

A few quick Happy Birthday wishes and then everyone was out the door for Awana.

Wordless Wednesday

Who’s who?

Piano

Buggy had her piano debut last Sunday!  We are SOO proud of her!  I have been amazed at how quickly Noni has taught her to play the piano! 

The other day she was playing one of her songs after church and our church pianist (one of the best I’ve ever seen!) heard her and asked if she’d like to do a duet.  She’s been practicing up a storm and Sunday was the big day.

And here it is!  I love that sweet little smile when she realizes I was videoing. 

There were a few mistakes, but for five years old and her first time playing in front of a big crowd she did AMAZING!

So proud of our little Buggy!

Living Nativity

Last Friday night it was Grandpa’s birthday so we met Grandma and Grandpa in town for dinner and then did something I’ve been wanting to do for years…the living nativity!  Every year I mean to do it, but I never remember before they are over!  Thankfully T heard the advertisement on the radio and asked me about it.

This particular nativity is extremely well done!  It is like being in the middle of a play! They had entertainment while we waited our turn in the church.  They grouped us into “families” and then have up on the screen which “family” is up next.

I didn’t get any good family pictures. :P  The ones I did get are pretty poor quality because no one else was taking pictures and I didn’t want to be flashing people in the darkness so I turned off my flash, but this is at least a glimpse…throughout the walk through Bethlehem they had other bible stories depicted.  This was the party given for the Prodigal son when he returned.

They also had the good Samaritan, a leper colony, and the woman and the lost coin.  They had a big “marketplace” set up with people “selling” all sorts of items and animals.  The Roman guards were patrolling and would “yell” at you if you strayed from your “family”.  Our leader had to pay our taxes to the Roman soldiers so they would let us register for the Roman census.

The kids got to pet the donkeys, a goat, and some sheep.

There was even a baby camel!  You can see how big she is and she’s only 6 months old!  Sorry for the blurry picture…that’s Bug petting her.

The girls’ favorite part was, of course, seeing baby Jesus in the stable with Mary and Joseph.

What a great experience!  The whole thing lasted a lot longer than we expected and poor Peanut was starved (and an hour overdue to eat) by the time we were done so we rushed out of there and let the girls play in the McDonalds playground while I fed her in the car.  We didn’t end up getting home until 10:30 (both Peanut and Bug fell asleep in the car) so it was a late night, but it was totally worth it!  It really brought the Christmas story to life!

Sherbet

Our little Peanut has learned to sherbet!  She does it a lot these days, and seems to be especially fond of doing it right after she spits up…which often sends regurgitated milk flying in every direction.  Lovely.  Haha :)  I caught her on video the other day while the rest of us were watching a show.
