The Pirate Queen! - Part 4

 Near the end of the play all the crews converged on Treasure Island, either trying to find treasure or rescue Sarah's parents.

 

 

When the crews found each other swords clashed! 

 

 

And Sarah ended up in a duel with Captain Blood, aka: Roger! I don't think I mentioned that F's brother was Roger!

 

 

So Bug and F had to watch their siblings play each other's love interests, haha. 

 

 

Roger put away his sword and said, "I cannot harm a woman." 

 

 

And then they realized who they really were. 

 

 

And Sarah said if Roger were to propose again she would not foolishly reject him. 

 

 

Then Sarah's parents came out. 

 

 

And were astonished to find their daughter was The Pirate Queen. 

 

 

She explained to them that she wanted a life of adventure. 

 

 

And then Roger asked for her hand in marriage. 

 

 

They did not want to agree to a pirate marrying their daughter. 

 

 

But then she explained that he was really Roger. 

 

 

So all was well...for about two seconds...then Long John Sliver came out.  

 

 

But was then captured by Bluebeard's crew. 

 

 

So all was well...for about two seconds...and then the British Captain Belvedere came out to arrest them all for piracy. 

 

 

But Lady Emma convinced Captain Belvedere to take Long John Sliver instead of the rest of them and get the reward for the notorious pirate. 

 

 

Then the original British ship came back to rescue them all from the island. 

 

 

And Sarah lamented going home, back to her life as a lady. 

 

 

"Promise me, Roger, that we will have adventure." 

 

 

"Sarah, my dear, you are my adventure." 

 

 

And they left to plan a wedding! 

 

 

Bravo!!

The Pirate Queen! - Part 3

 The adults did such a great job in the play, and with the kids. We are thankful for these people who encourage our young people in learning the dramatic arts! This was a funny scene where Long John was making Lord Huffington dig for the treasure.

 

 

And Lady Huffington was getting into the spirit of things and came out in her "Pirate fashion! When in Rome!" 

 

 

They dug up "every square inch of the island" and still couldn't find the treasure. Bluebeard's crew found them and they ran off... 

 

 

And hid in a cave. 

 

 

Where Parrot (Peaches) found... 

 

 

Bones... 

 

 

And the treasure! Which had been dug up by Long John's first mate and then hidden in the cave. 

 

 

They came up with a plan to trick Bluebeard's crew into believing they had killed Lord Huffington and Lady Huffington had escaped. 

 

 

And then they jumped out and surprised them. 

 

 

They captured Bluebeard's crew and took them off. 

 

 

And then The Pirate Queen returned with her crew, realizing that this was Treasure Island all along. 

 

 

And they found "Mummy's handkerchief" and G busted us up laughing when she ad-libbed (in the last showing, "Look Sarah! Your father's glorious toupee!"  

 

 

Sarah realizes that she would be happy with life as a lady and "the pirate life isn't all it's cracked up to be". They go off to look for her parents.

 

 

 And Roger and his crew return to the beach.

 

 

Where they realize that Parrot's brother Claude has been lost. 

 

 

They hear the girls coming and run off to hide. 

 

 

And the rest of the pictures will have to be next week! 

The Pirate Queen! - Part 2

The third scene found us on Treasure Island where Bluebeard and his crew were retired and living in peace and relaxation. 

Roger's crew (including Peaches) were trying to figure out where Long John Sliver's treasure was buried.  

 

 

Peaches went over and found a painting of Bluebeard with a message on the back.  

 

 

The whole play all the crews were sending messages in bottles about the exploits of their Captains even though they weren't true.  

 

 

Bluebeard was trying to make people think he was still out there pillaging, and Peanut's crew was trying to build up the legend of The Pirate Queen. 

 

 

Roger's crew heard someone coming and hid. It turned out to be Sarah"s (Peanut's) parents. Bug's mother-in-law played Peanut's mother, Lady Huffington! They got dropped off on this "deserted" island so they wouldn't be in danger when Bluebeard was captured, not knowing that he was actually on the island. 

 

 

Roger and crew turned this to their advantage and took them hostage. 

 

 

They were so funny! 

 

 

Roger sent a message off in a bottle to Lady Sarah, telling her that he had captured her parents. 

 

 

She and her crew found the island next. 

 

 

But they didn't know that they were on Treasure Island, and they didn't know about her parents at this point. 

 

 

Here is where they found out they had been captured. 

 

 

Long John came out. 

 

 

And had a sword fight with Sarah. 

 

 

They did such a good job!  

 

 

This was one of my favorite scenes. It was SO funny. Peanut told him she was going to cut out and roast his liver (he said he didn't have one) or anything he had left if he didn't tell them where Treasure Island was.  

 

 

He gave them bogus directions to a different island. 

 

 

And they believed him. 

 

 

And set off for Treasure Island.
