Thanksgiving!

 We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at the farm! It was a little sad because we were missing part of the family but also really exciting because the reason they were missing is because Cousin S had her baby two and half weeks early! We are SO excited to meet baby A and are planning a trip to see them after Christmas! 

Our Thanksgiving was full of pool...

and games! We had lots of all three! 

 

 

They taught Peanut how to play Poker, and F and Bug got a Poker set for free off of Marketplace. 

 

 

We also enjoyed lots of visiting. 

 

 

And brought the leftover bridal dress sugar cookies and all the decorations to let the girls decorate some more cookies. 

 

 

The next day was more of same with the addition of basketball. I'm bummed that I didn't get any pictures but the girls spent HOURS in the shop playing basketball. Grandpa cleared a big space and Boo shot literally hundreds of free throws. I'm not sure how many she ended up doing, but she didn't stop until she had made 200! She was sore the next day, but kept right on playing!  

 

Cousin K played Life with Peaches and Lou. 

 

 

And Cousin K and Lou set the table for Thanksgiving dinner. 

 

 

They even made placecards for everyone. :) 

 

 

We had to spread out to fill up the table without the rest of the family.  

 

 

The girls had been wanting to play Christmas music the day before and Cousin K told them that her dad, Uncle W, has a rule in their house that they can't play Christmas music until he's had his first bite of turkey so we all came up with a plan to burst out in Deck the Halls as soon as he had his first bite. I thought the girls were going to bust watching his every move after we prayed. He got the joke right away and everyone laughed and laughed!  

 

 

We ended Thanksgiving night with more games. 

 

And Dr. Mario on T's old Nintendo! They played for hours until I finally made them go to bed. Haha.

Let It Snow!

It's been a weird year for the holidays because we did not put our Christmas tree up since we needed it to decorate for the wedding. We went ahead and decorated the rest of the house one night. 

 

 

The girls love the Dickens village and got to do the majority of the setting up this year. 

 

 The next night we got our first snow! It was just starting to come down before they went to bed. 

 

 

 But by morning the ground was white! 

 

 

 They didn't want to get all bundled up so they ran out and grabbed a handful of snow.

 

 

 

And made a snowman. Haha!  

 

 

 

Now that the wedding is over we are happy to get our tree up and celebrate Christmas!  

Bridal Shower!

Bug's future mother-in-law and I co-hosted a shower at their church a few Sundays ago. It was small and sweet and we had a wonderful time! We got a few pictures before it started.

I can't believe my first baby is leaving the nest and starting her own family! Love this girl so much!!

Mama and Grandma both came even though it was quite a drive! So thankful to get to celebrate this momentous occasion with them! 

 

 

We had snacky foods and a caramel apple bar!

 

 

And we had to make Noni's yummy Cow Catcher Punch.

These two had a ball! 

 

 

We also met some of the sweet ladies that go to this church. 

 

 

Ms. K had a game with a funny story about "Mr. and Mrs. Right" and each time she said right in the story we had to pass the present to the right and same for left. The person with the bag at the end got to open it.  

 

 

Peaches won our table's! 

 

 

We also played a fun game where we had to answer questions about Bug and F like how long they've been together and where he proposed, etc. 

 

 

Then she opened all the presents. 

 

 

She got so many wonderful gifts! Too many to list but I'll try to remember a few. Grandma gave her a clothes steamer...she uses mine all the time so I know she will get a lot of use out of it! 

 

 

 

Auntie Nae gave her a super soft robe and pajama set. 

 

 

Aunt M got her the set of serving spoons she wanted. 

 

 

Grandma R made her this beautiful table runner. 

 

 

Noni and Papa bought her custom Converse to wear at the wedding! She'd really been wanting them, but didn't want to spend the money even though finding wedding shoes has been terrible due to her wide feet. Noni and Papa spoiled her and she was so excited!  

 

 

Noni also gave her their wedding gift early... 

 

 

A beautiful handmade quilt!! Noni did a fabulous job with lots of special and meaningful touches to make it their own including little planes on one of the fabrics and a world map on another to represent their desire to go on the mission field! What a treasure!  

 

 

Grandma and Auntie Nae also gave their wedding gift early...a beautiful set of pots and pans that she'd listed on her registry! These will be well used!  

 

 

Lou and Peaches did a wonderful job helping bring her the presents to open. :) 

 

 

After she finished Ms. K said some sweet things about her to welcome her into their family.

 

 We told the girls about the tradition to make a bouquet out of the present ribbons to be used at the rehearsal dinner. Boo, Peanut, and R made it for her while she unwrapped. 

 

  

The last "game" was to decorate sugar cookies shaped like wedding dresses and then Bug got to pick her favorite one. 

 

 

Bug's friend L won the game.

It was such a sweet celebration of our Buggy girl! We are so blessed to have had 18 wonderful years with her and now we get a son-in-law! We pray that they have many MANY blessed and joyful years together building a marriage and a life that is honoring to the Lord. We can't wait to see what He has in store for them!
