Pumpkin Patch!

 We got to go to the pumpkin patch with the girls' school! Peaches friend R was there. They are so happy to be in the same class for the fourth year in a row!

 

 

Silly girls! 

 

 

We started off with a visit to the giant pumpkin. 

 

 And then got fresh apple cider and pumpkin donuts!

 

 

 

I thought these plants were so pretty and interesting! My phone said it was amaranth which I've never seen or heard of before.

 Then we got to go to the petting zoo. Peaches was the only one brave enough to pet the pigs. They smelled SO bad. :P

 

 

The baby goat was so cute!!

 

 

 

They had a fun playground that the kids hopped on anytime we had a lull in the schedule. 

 

 

It was a gorgeous day! We have been enjoying every minute of this amazing Indian summer!  

Next up was the hayride with Peaches' classmates.

 

 

 

They wanted a silly picture too. :) 

 

 

This lady taught them about bees and pollination and showed them a comb from one of the hives. 

 

 

 

Then they got to pick an apple and eat it! We showed her how to clean it on her shirt before actually taking a bite. :P

 

 

Next was the tire maze. 

 

 

 

Our final activity was the pumpkin patch. They got to walk through and pick a pumpkin. 

 

 

They wanted to stop and play some more on the way out.  

  

 

  

They had this neat twisty swing! Some boys were running it and making sure the little kids took turns. 

 

  

 

It was really fast and they loved it! 

 

 

Such a fun morning at the pumpkin patch!

Leftover Thursday

 Pastor J got an evangelist to come speak at church one night. Boo had a volleyball game but the rest of us went and Peanut was called up to help with a demonstration. The guy was really good and made evangelism seem so easy...hopefully we can implement a few of his takeaway tips.

 

 

We had our back-to-school ice cream social with the homeschool group. Our group has regrown after losing a few key families to moving away. This isn't even all that was there...there were more over on the other side. 

 

 

 

The kids love the ice cream, but I think they love playing even more. They had a blast running all over the park. 

 

 

 But the ice cream is a big hit as well. :)

 

  

 They were both so filthy when we left! Peaches doesn't look as dirty as Lou, but her skin was covered in a layer of dirt if you got close enough to see. We had to pick up the kittens from their spay/neuter appointment and then it was home to the bath!

 

 

Noni has some crazy sunflowers this year! They much be twelve feet tall!

 

 

 

T is not a fan of the cats so it made me laugh to walk in the garage and see one sprawled out on his pickup. :P

Wordless Wednesday

 

Volleyball!

Boo has been playing so much volleyball! She has played 12 games so far! And that's not even counting the four they played at the jamboree before the season started! Their first game was at home and it was super intense! They won the first set, lost the second and third, won the fourth and lost the fifth by only 3 points.

 

 

 

Their second game was also at home and they won the first set, lost the second, won the third with a comeback when they were down 17 to 24, and then won the fourth! They were so happy!

 

 

They are doing such an amazing job! Boo keeps telling me volleyball is very much a mental game which makes sense because they seem to play a lot better at home. They have won a set here or there at away games, but their only game wins have been at home. 

 

Boo has done a great job improving her serve. She rarely misses now. 

 

  

 

They do a little cheer and say, "Ace!" when the server gets the point. 

 

 

 

This was a tough fought game, but they ended up losing.

 

 

I went into the gym when they were still warming up and she saw me getting out my camera to take a picture, haha. 

 

 

Peaches took this one. 

 

 

Boo is getting to be quite the middle hitter! 

 

 

It is so fun to watch her!  

 

 

 

It's hard to believe the season is almost over! A few more games and then the tournament and it will be on to basketball! 

Soccer!

 I feel like all I have to post about is soccer and volleyball because we've been running back and forth between the two for a month now. Peanut's soccer team is doing amazing! This was their first game. The little ones and I headed to the city for it and were early, but they started even earlier so we missed the beginning. 

 

 

Thankfully we didn't miss Peanut scoring the first goal of the game and season! She normally plays defense but they had subbed her into mid-field and she quickly ran up the line and scored!  

 

 

 

The little ones were playing with friends and throwing chokecherries at the big brothers. :P

 

 

 

Peanut is one of the best players and so fun to watch! They won 7 to 4! After the game I found out that she has been made one of the co-Captains for the season! Way to go Peanut!

 

 

 

Their second game was at home and the teams were very evenly matched. 

 

 

 

Noni and Papa got to come!

 Peanut did a great job and played hard again!

 

 

Soccer is definitely her sport. 

 

 

They ended the game tied 1-1 so they had to go into a shootout. I was so nervous when Peanut got picked to be one of the 5! Later she said she wasn't nervous at all. 

 

  

 

It was pretty tense. They made one, we made one, they missed, we missed, they missed again, we missed again, they made one, and then it was Peanut's turn. Their goalie was small but super fast! She said she looked left, looked left, and then booted it right. He tried for it, but she made it!! Whoo hoo! 

 

 

 

Her teammate C made the final shot and they won 3-2! What a great game! 

 

  

 

Their third game was in the town closer to Grandma and Grandpa so they were able to come as well as Auntie Nae and Cousin K! This team was much harder and it was a tough fight!

 

 

The field overlapped with the baseball field but thankfully it didn't trip anyone up.  

 

 

Bug and F came too so Peanut had quite the fan base! Unfortunately they ended up losing 2-4.  

 

 

We went out to dinner and then let the kids get frozen yogurt. 

 

 

 

Way to go Peanut! We are so proud of your hustle!
