Leftover Thursday

 The little ones have had a sleepover with Noni several times in the last month while we were getting Boo's driver's ed requirements done. One day Noni took them to the new splash pad on the base and they loved it!! 

 

 

 

It's also right next to a playground so they got to enjoy that as well! 

 

 

Chilly Lou is always trying to get warm. :) 

 

 

So fun!! 

 

 

Here they are another day at Noni and Papa's house.  

 

 

Boo got to go shopping and out to lunch with R and Ms. A to debrief about VBS. She had a blast and came home with some new clothes. :)

Boise! - Part 2

 Their neighborhood has a pool that homeowners can use so since it was such a hot day we spent the afternoon swimming! The girls loved it! 

 

 

Lou especially loved their inflateable gecko!  

 

 

They had a nice little area where the little ones could stand up.  

 

 

Lou wanted me to get a picture of her jumping...impressive! 

 

 

And her swimming has really improved! I know I saw it every year but I really need to be diligent about getting them to the pool at least once a month to keep their swimming skills up. Otherwise they forget everything from one summer to the next.  

 

 

 

Uncle A made us an amazing fajita dinner...he is such a good cook! And then the kids spent the rest of the evening running around the backyard. We had a Superhero join us! :)

 

 

 

The dads got in on the soccer game. 

 

 

So fun! 

 

 

 I only wish we could spend time together more often! 

 

 

Noni had a great Adam Racoon devotion for the kids.  

 

 

She had each of the kids read part of the bible passage. Here is Lou with her turn. 

 

 

Lou was so happy when J wanted to sit with her. :) 

 

 

 

And the kids all loved the devotion! 

 

 

 

We went for another walk after they went to bed. Boo insisted that we highlight this sign for some reason, haha. 

 

 

 The next morning it was more playing, and another amazing breakfast by Uncle A! This time it was homemade biscuits, eggs, and bacon. So good.

Silly girls. 

 

 

We hung out until it was time to go to church. They have several time options for services and the kids had Sunday school during the service we went to so Peaches went with M to the 4th and 5th grade room and Lou with with S to the 1st-2nd-3rd grade room.

 

 

What a wonderful weekend hanging out with the family! And with a pirate/ninja/superhero! :)

 

 

 

It's always so hard to say goodbye! We're already looking forward to next time! 

Boise! - Part 1

 Our last summer hurrah was a trip to Boise to see the cousins! Boo drove part of the way. She said it was "Terrible!" but there were only a few mistakes made and I thought she did great! 

 

 

I felt bad for her because she kept getting advice from the peanut gallery. :P  Noni kept the little ones entertained the whole way there!

 

 

 

Boo was glad when we finally stopped and she could relinquish the driver's seat back to Daddy.

 

 

 

We arrived and the cousins got straight to playing! 

 

 

It was so fun seeing their new house! Last time we were here it was down to the studs.  

 

 

Everything turned out beautifully! I loved all the huge windows. So much natural light! Uncle A built this huge table! It was gorgeous. He made us homemade pizza on his Egg grill and everyone loved it! 

 

 

We went for a walk after dinner. The girls loved looking at all the beautiful houses in their neighborhood. This one was a favorite.

 

 Theirs is the one behind us on the right. This neighborhood is up on a hill so they have a beautiful view of the hills out one side of the house and the city on the other side. 

 

A big bonus for this year's trip is that Aunt K got to join us!! She flew in the same day we arrived and then she and Noni stayed to help them out for a week because little J's school was on break while everyone else went back to school. 

 

 

 

The kids got ice cream for a bed time snack. I thought little J was so cute peeking over the counter. He has gotten so big and is so adorable!

 

 

 

The next morning I woke up and walked out of our room to find all the kids and the dog in one space. :) 

 

 

Uncle A made us an amazing breakfast of homemade cinnamon rolls! So good! 

 

 

Then we packed up and drove to a nearby park to float the Boise river! 

 

 

I was so glad when they suggested it because I was hoping to redeem river floating in the girls' minds. After our bumpy experience over the 4th of July they did not want to do it, but just as I hoped it was awesome and they loved it! And it was nice that we already had the tubes to do it! (T had patched the holes on several of them that week.) 

 

 

But it did take us a while to blow them all up! 

 

 

It was perfect! Gorgeous weather, a nice peaceful float with tiny rapids and no tubes popped! There were only a few rocks, but we got smart and put our life jackets in the bottom of the tubes so when we did hit a rock there was something to cushion the blow. 

 

We saw tons of ducks...many that came right up to us hoping we had food, and we even saw a huge bald eagle in a tree above us! 

 

Auntie K got this video of us going over the one "waterfall" that they had. They rented a 6 person raft and the kids went back and forth between that and the tubes. We took the rental place's bus back to the park. So fun!!

 

 

 

After that we went back to the house for sandwiches. 

 

 

We hung out for a bit...J thought Uncle T made a good jungle gym and Lou joined in. :)
