Garage Sale and Lemonade Stand!

 Bug and the S family decided to have a garage sale fundraiser for their upcoming mission trip! The younger girls have begged me to have a lemonade stand for years so I knew this would be a great opportunity! They made the sign and we made a bunch of treats to sell.

 

 

Garage sales are a lot of work! It took us about six hours to set it all up. Thankfully the church had given us the leftovers from their own garage sale a few months ago so we had plenty to sell!

 

 

They were SO excited to open their lemonade stand! 

 

 

And they actually sold quite a bit of lemonade and the majority of the treats!

Noni and Papa came to help out at the sale even though it was their anniversary.

 

 

Unfortunately we had some smoke roll in from wildfires and the air was horrible that day! 

 

 

But it didn't stop lots of people from coming to the sale! Goofball Lou.

 

 

They lasted about an hour before they realized that having a lemonade stand is not very exciting. Haha. Then they gave up and started playing with garage sale items. You can see them and their friend E on the table.

This dinosaur had been in the garage sale pile a few months before and Lou and Peaches have had a ball with him. The morning of the sale I told them it was time for him to go back in the pile. They started crying and brought me some of their own money to buy him so they could keep him. I don't know what it is about this little guy but they love him. Maybe a love of T-Rex is genetic. Haha! I still think they are so funny and it makes me smile to see "Rexi" around the house. 

 

 

And in other news...they raised almost $1000 towards their mission trip! Whoo hoo! We were also able to give two truckloads of stuff to a lady who stopped to buy some things for the local fire victims so that was really nice! The rest we loaded up and took to Goodwill. We sure were tired but I'd say it was a big success!

Peanut's Special Days

Since Peanut turned 11 this year it was time for our special overnight trip! We started off with some shopping and went out to dinner at our favorite Chinese place.

Then we checked into our hotel and went for a swim.

 

 

We went to the same place Bug and I went since it has this cool slide.

 

 

We went and got Froyo, had some good mother/daughter time and the next morning we enjoyed the continental breakfast and did some more shopping. Peanut is so much fun to hang out with and we had a great time together!

 

 

She and Noni got to have their own special day a few weeks later! They went and painted pottery at the mall.

 

 

They also found a bunch of Melissa and Doug kitchen stuff on sale to go with the Diner that Noni bought for the Cubbie room! 

 

 

 

 They had a lot of fun!

Wordless Wednesday

 

Wolf Lodge!

 We had planned to get to Wolf Lodge with a couple hours to swim but Tillamook took longer than we planned and then we had to stop and clean up the car after Lou's incident so we only ended up with half and hour to swim before they closed for the evening. We still changed and enjoyed it for that half hour and then went back and got ready for bed. We had never been to Wolf Lodge before and the girls loved it! We had a fireplace in our room!

 

 

 And bunk beds! Boo and Peanut slept here.

 

 

And Bug here.

 

 

 

I got the little ones to bed and T and the big girls explored the hotel. They gave out complimentary wolf ears if you would howl. Haha.

 

 

This place was super crowded too. I guess we're just not used to city living.

 

 

Lou is getting too big for her "crib" as she calls it, but it sure is handy to have an instant place for her to sleep that's comfy and familiar. She sleeps great in it, and goes right to bed.

 

 

The next morning we packed up, checked out, and then headed to the water park! 

 

 

It wasn't nearly as crowded as it had been the night before and the girls ran up the water slide stairs as fast as they could for hours!

 

 

Lou is our little thrill seeker and wanted to go on every ride she was big enough for.

 

 

The girls took her on the big slides.

 

 

Daddy took her too.

 

 

Bug, Daddy, and I took turns taking her down these smaller ones over and over again.

We had a wonderful time swimming, riding, and enjoying the indoor/outdoor hot tub. Give a howl if you love the Great Wolf Lodge! :)

 

 

 

After we finished there we headed home. What a wonderful trip! 

Tillamook!

 The morning after the wedding we met up with Uncle B, Auntie M, and Cousin E for a breakfast before heading out. 

 

Our next destination was Tillamook! The big girls were tired but Lou was raring to go. :)

 

 

It had changed a lot since Noni and I had been there last...of course that was about thirty years ago. Haha. They had all sorts of displays and gave away samples of all their cheeses.

 

 

The girls liked looking down into the factory and watching the workers. 

 

 

They had this big cow that you could hook up to the milking machine.

 

 

And they got to "feed" the baby cow.

 

 

The only bad part was that it was crazy crowded! We took turns waiting in line for the ice cream.

And a nice lady offered to take our picture as we left. :)

 

 

We enjoyed the stop! And the ice cream! Unfortunately we decided to skip the crowds going through Portland and took a back highway that was literally like a roller coaster...up and down, side to side and Lou's tummy returned the cheese and ice cream. :( We all had to take Dramamine...even T who was driving! :P The car did not smell good for the rest of the trip, but thankfully we made it to our next destination with no further puking.
