Banquet!

 Well I've been holding off posting these pictures trying to wait for the school to give us the formal banquet pictures that were taken but so far nothing so I'll go ahead and post the few that I took. I made my first attempt at wrist corsage and boutonniere and I was please with how they turned out! Although I need to buy smaller flowers next year because they were a little too large. 

 

 

We invited Bug's good friend A over to get ready with her. The guys played video games while they waited. :)

 

 

I'd say it was worth the wait! The girls looked so pretty all dressed up!

I wish now I had gotten more pictures since I haven't seen the official ones, but this one is pretty cute. :)

 

 

I thought it was funny the contrast of them all dressed up and navigating around the tractor and construction zone that is our yard. :P

 

 

Hugs for Daddy before she left...he was trying not to get his greasy hands on her dress since he was in the middle of a project. :P

 

 

They ended up having a lot of fun! They had their fancy dinner, stopped at Walmart on the way home, and then hung out talking at our house until 10:30...we had to be at Peaches soccer game at 7:30 the next morning so we were tired! Haha. But we're glad she had such a wonderful time!

Pie Social!

 The other day the youth did a pie social fund raiser for their mission trip. The younger three were thrilled and had multiple helpings of pie. Haha.

The teens are doing a great job of running these types of events.

 

 

Each of the teens had to bring two pies, one to share then and one to sell. After we all had pie they auctioned off the second pies and then for a finale they auctioned off the right to hit two people in the face with a pie. When you won a pie you got five tickets and could put it in one of the teens or youth pastor's jar. You could also purchase tickets. The two people with the most tickets got a pie in the face, and Bug and Boo both bid the highest to get to be the ones who threw the pies! 

Boo kindly got the hair out of A's face before smearing pie into it. :P

 

 

Bug had no such qualms and just went for it. Haha.

 

 

At Pastor S's advice they pushed and then twisted for maximum effect. :P

 

 

They were pretty happy with themselves.

 

 

And Pastor J and their friend A were very pie-faced.

 

 

I'm glad I didn't have a jar with tickets! :P

VBS Decorating

 We've been going to church periodically to decorate for VBS. This day Peanut and her friends were making clouds for Noni. 

 

 Strong girls! Haha!

Bug and Peanut have been practicing face painting for one of the days. Peanut did this butterfly. :)

 

 

Noni gathered all the stuff to make these cool trees since the location is a forest.

Boo got hers done by another girl.

 

 

Boo wanted to make signs for each row. Usually they staple a paper plate to the end of the pews with the grade range written on it. Boo wanted to make it look nicer...a lot nicer! They turned out so cute!

And the decorations turned out so cool! Noni had this awesome idea for a waterfall and one of the church members husbands built a wood frame for it. Noni made the rocks out of chicken wire and paper mache! Impressive!

 

 

And Noni had the template for these trees. We did others in the back part of the church. Bug, Boo, Peanut, and their friend R made the bushes. It all turned out so cute! 

 

 

We can't wait for VBS!

Kitty Fun!

The girls have been having so much fun with the kittens!

 

 

Noni and Mama stopped by one afternoon and got to meet them.

 

 

They are finally starting to play and be silly. It is really fun to watch them pouncing around and play fighting.

 

 

Baby Juniper is still smaller than the others but she's gaining weight now!

 

 

This has been a very sweet experience for them all!

Our neighbor had to work one day and her usual babysitter was unavailable so we watched her little girl.

I'm debating about what to do about next year. I had been thinking this might be our last year because Peaches didn't particularly enjoy it, but after talking to her I think it's ballet that she's not loving. She really wants to do tap. So I'll have to see the schedule for next year and see if there is a tap class that would work for our schedule. Lou on the other hand loves ballet so we'll see what happens.
