 One day during naptime/quiet time I could hear Peaches yelling in her room. I went up to tell her to quiet down and found this.

I was trying to get Lou doing her hilarious, "Thank you! Thank you!" with bows, but she got shy of the video.

I had to sneak this video of sweet Lou singing her Lullaby with me. 

Lou always does the cutest things and then stops as soon as we start to video. :P

T got this cute clip of Peaches and two of her friends during worship.

Farm Fun!

 Since we didn't get to go the farm for the 4th of July (Covid) we picked a weekend in August and headed out for a quick trip. Auntie Nae and the kids came over as soon as we got there and the cousins got right to work playing all sorts of games. I love how much fun they have together!

Lou tags along when she feels like it and then other times she does her own thing. :)

 

 

Peanut found a little frog.

 

 

And named it Heartsy because it had a perfect heart shape on it's head!

Auntie Nae showed Lou how to make a wish on one of those big dandelion-type puff balls.

 

 

 Ice cream for dessert!

 

 

 

 It was hot that weekend so we took the ice cream outside!

The guys were up in the shop working on whatever it is they work on up there. Haha.

 

 

The next day Cousin K brought a gel nail kit with her and did a salon.

 

 

 

So sweet!

 

 

We enjoyed a full Saturday of relaxing, hanging out, and visiting!

 

 

It was another hot day and soon the kids were running through the sprinklers. :)

 

 

We are so thankful for family!

 

Wordless Wednesday

 

School Supplies!

 One weekend we spent hours cleaning up the schoolroom. We hadn't done a deep clean in two full years and had sooo many papers and old books and supplies to go through! We finally got it under control and T set up the new computer he bought us. 

Our older desktop has been with us since Boo started kindergarten and is still working, but has definitely gotten a little slower. We are thrilled it has lasted this long but thought we should preemptively get another desktop in case this one decides to kick the bucket. Lou gets to use the old one for her preschool websites. 

I had to get proof of a clean schoolroom! Yay!

 

Later that week I let them unbox their school supplies.

 

 

Peaches was jumping-out-of-her-skin excited!

 

 

Sweet girl! I hope we can keep that enthusiasm going all year!

 

 

It was old stuff for Peanut and Boo but it's always nice to get new things. Peanut organized her area a little differently this year.

 

 

And this was the only picture I could get of our soon-to-be teenager. :P 

 

 

Ready for school!

Farewell Summer

Well our summer weather was short lived but we enjoyed it to the fullest! Every week in August we headed down to the lake with our friends and the kids swam and played and kayaked and built sand castles to their hearts content! 

 

 

The only bad part was it seemed like they lowered the beach really early this year. I don't know why they do it before Labor Day...especially when it was in the 100's. 

 This was our second to last week and the dock was still in the water enough that the kids could enjoy it. This was probably the favorite week for the girls because one of the families brought their boat and took them tubing! You can just barely see the boat on the left out in the water. They had a blast!

 

 

Two of the other families got kayaks this year and it was so funny to watch them all out there. We had 8 there this particular week and it was like a little kayak gang. They made up a game called Pirates (those in the kayaks) and Mermaids (those in the water) and had so much fun!

 

 

Lunch break!

 

 

Lou was able to stay up this year and catch a short nap on the way home. It did make for a crankier than usual evening, but not unmanageable.

 

 

Peaches got so brave this year. I really wished she would keep her life jacket on, but I have to admit she did very well about staying where she wasn't too deep and being safe. This day she jumped from the dock without a life jacket! Brave girl! The water wasn't over her head but this was a big step for her!

 

 

Way to go E!

 

The next week they had drastically lowered the lake...lower than I've ever seen. On this side it was past the logs that mark the swimming area. In the middle of summer the water is only a few feet from the grass up there.

 

 

This was the only place that was muddy/mucky/seaweedy and was surprisingly sandy for an area that is under water most of the time. 

 

 

We found a bunch of larger rocks and thought it would be fun to spell out a message that will be under the water the next time we go!

 

 

One last day of beach fun...it was a beautiful day! 

 

 

We let the kids kayak over to the other side of the bay by themselves and they thought it quite the adventure. :)

Goodbye Summer! We will miss you! Please come back sooner next year!

Lou Laughs - Part 4

 November 22nd - Her 3rd birthday

"Mommy my mouth! It's going...up!" Me trying to figure out what she means, waited long enough to hear a little 'hic': "Oh you have hiccups." D: "Yeah! I have pickups! It keeps going again and again!" 

November 24th

We were at Grandma and Grandpa's and she saw a portrait of a stern looking ancestor hanging on the wall in the room she was sleeping in. She pointed at it. "Mommy! I don't want hers lookin' at me!" Me: "You mean the lady in the picture?" Her: "Yes! Don't let her lookin' at me!" Me: "Ok I could take it down." Her: "Yes! Not downstairs! Upstairs!"

November 26th

First thing in the morning, "Mommy! I had good dreams!" Me: "Oh good!" Remember you are going to stay with Boo and Grandpa today while Mommy and Daddy go shopping." Her: "Yay! Grandpa make my choc-it!" Me: "Maybe." Her: "Yes he IS!" Me: "Oh he is? Did a little bird tell you?" Her: "Yes! Dere's a little tiny bird sit in my ear an told me Grandpa make me choc-it!"

December 10th 

Wearing a dance costume at the dinner table. She pulled the straps down so she had nothing on top and then held out her hands, "Don't see my naked!" Me: "Well then don't pull your dress down." Her: "Oh...ok! Sawee!" 

December 23rd

She was eating coconut cream pie for the first time and pulled one of the shredded pieces of coconut out of her mouth, "Eww! Dis wucky! Have hair!"
