The Youth Leadership group at church did a service project-Parent's Night Out in April. Lou was NOT happy when I told her she would be going to church for the evening. She hasn't had the benefit of getting used to church by being there every week like the other girls had. It's a second home for the rest of them, but we've been in a pandemic for almost half her life so she isn't as familiar with church or the sweet people there.
We had plans to drop the kids off and head to the city for supplies since we had a bunch of orders we needed to pickup, but I figured we would be getting a call to come pick her up and didn't want to be that far away so we tried to come up with another plan.
T suggested we go golfing...I hadn't been in two years so I was a little hesitant at first, but then we decided to go for it. I was SO glad we did! It was a gorgeous night, and uncharacteristically warm for April. By the 5th hole my swing and I found each other again, haha, and it felt SO good to be outside and enjoying the beautiful weather. We loved it!
We still had about an hour after we finished our 9 holes before we had to pick up the kids so we headed to our friends' house (who's kids were also at the church) and hung out talking on their patio under the twinkle lights. It was the perfect night! And as a bonus, Lou did beautifully at the church and had so much fun! The girls didn't want to leave when we picked them up at 9 (way past their bedtime!).
Our night out turned into a weekend because Noni volunteered to have the girls over on Saturday. So after getting up and eating breakfast together we dropped them off and headed to town to knock some things off our list.
We actually got to go shopping for the first time in a over a year! It was so fun! It ended up being an entire day and we pretty much "black Friday" shopped...T counted up 21 stores!!! We got to go to lunch and just had a blast running around to all the different places. We found a bunch of stuff we needed to finish our bathroom, and found a good tile for the shower floor. We picked up the shower wall tile that had been on order, and some other supplies we needed. This is what the back of the car looked like after Home Depot.
We even ran into a couple of thrift stores and found this adorable table for $20, score!
Which balanced out this cabinet that we finally found for the bathroom which ended up being $250. Lol. :P
I didn't quite like the minty-colored finish so we got some spray paint and I turned it into this.
The girls got to have a hot dog roast at Noni's!
And Lou got a nap...she's getting so long!
And I think they had just as much fun as we were having!

They got to do Playdoh.
And found their newest obsession...digging holes. Haha.
T and I both felt like we had a little vacation! Haha. It was a wonderful weekend and a great time was had by all!
And Lou lasted all the way til Thursday before the two late nights, and all the time away from Mommy caught up with her. But the cranky, fussing, glued to the hip day was worth it!
I can't wait to put all the fun things together in our new bathroom and bedroom and see how it all turns out!
